armaggedon's blade problem
Hi I am new to the forum. I recently changed over from windows 2000 to win xp pro. I installed H3 fine no issues then when I went to install AB it told me my disc was corrupt. I then tried two of my friends disks to get the same result. I have installed all the H3 patches. I installed the games version of reader and direct x even though I had a newer version installed. I have been playing this game for years started at H1 and have progressed fine. Another friend of mine who also has xp cannot install AB either so we are both hoping someone can help us. Does anyone have any solutions to this problem?

Which version of Heros 3 have you got installed?

it says 1.3.0.0. Is there another version? I have checked game spot and its the same patches I have. I have used these exact patches everytime I have installed H3 and AB. I saved them when I heard 3D0 was dying. I don't have any other expansions installed.

The latest version for Heroes 3 "Restoration of Erathia" is 1.4.0.0.
For Heroes 3 "Armageddon's Blade", the latest version is 2.2.0.0.
For Heroes 3 "Shadow of Death", it is 3.2.0.0.
If u would be able to buy Heroes 3 Complete, which has all above mentioned versions included, you would have version 4.0.0.0- the best version you could have. Can be found on amazon or on ebay.
May I ask what language your Heroes game is?

Here is the patch u need for upgrading to version 1.4.0.0.
But this still doesn't solve your "Armageddon's Blade" problem though.
Do you have english versions of both games?
And btw....upgrade your directx again to the most recent version (9.0c if I am correct).

yes both are english. I have the latest direct x i did that over the weekend. Thank you for the patch It now shows version 1.4. It is a pity it wont help my AB. thank you for your time and effort

You could try to copy the whole cd on your harddrive and start the setup from there (keeping the cd in the drive)

I cant. I am unable to even view the contents of the cd's. All 4 of them I have tried all come up with the message that the cd is corrupt and I cant even open them to see the contents. It is odd because I can install the chronicles and H3 with no issues at all its just AB.
