But it makes perfect sense. Goblins are absolute cowards, and know how to choose the winning side. Whether they are within or outside of battle is irrelevant, because their only interest is self-preservation. Nival is trying to portray this personality trait in an interesting, innovative and tactically challenging fashion. This mechanic ensures that players will not be too quick to sacrifice their Goblins in the heat of battle. Without this, the Stronghold/Bastion/Whatever will be unstoppable. It is a feature which taxes the strategic brain, an aspect of the game which some of you seem to shun. I can only guess why.

Now that you mention it, I see that my translation wasn't perfect here .
The interview says attacks all adjacent enemies. So allied troops are probably left unharmed.
Will fix the original post right away.

Juicy info. Poor goblins, they gotta be extinct indeed if not they breed in hordes. 30 withouth growth structure and 40/50 with wouldnt be imbalanced I think.
I just cant get over with it that the cyclopses feet are alot more different than the Dark Messiah cyclopses, maybe the DM ones are wild, untamed ones or a different kind, less smart than the ones with hooves...useless to have in the army and would just kill even its allies for no apparent reason at all.
But I must say the green upgrade of the wyvern is quite sticking out of the orange/red/tan Stronghold crowd, also the black upg for the strongest Orc

Is there coming any patches before next expansion? I have read that they are making some balance to TotE, but what kind of? Maybe they still change training skill or mecromancy?
I would like to see those shamans as a shooter/spellcaster rather than caster only. and about cyclops are they shooters?(beam) Or just strong melee walkers?

Yes there will be at least one patch before TotE comes out but we don't know when. The rebalancing can be on units as well on skills, probably both. Cyclopses are melee except the red upgrade can throw goblins - should count for partially ranged

Im frustrated when it comes to patches, I really want the changes and features from 1.5 added in a 2.2 patch for HoF! 
Anyway. Roughly compered out of what we know, which lineup would you go for Elvin? Pure red or pure orange?

Well the redder cyclops wields a club and has no laser! I don't know but I expect the specials to be evenly distributed. As we get both upgrades from the start I believe they have better chances to be balanced.

Well, from the interviews the cyclops seems to be planned by Nival to be a flat out insane unit, along the vain of the magma dragon. I have a feeling both upgrades will be amazing, they'll think of something.
On an unrelated note, I can't get onto Age of Heroes. Anyone know what's up? it's www.heroesofmightandmagic.com, right?

So what if they changed side??? - I do think Goblins will be weak , not peasent weak - But weak so that you need 500 of them to do any good ! So if they change side , you can just shoot them one time and they are gone..
And I hope that their Rage bar give them more Courage - So that they wont change side that easy ... You have many things to think about

This new preview is rather nice, Thanks Elvin.
It gives us more info on the story an a slight bit of new info on other things. Still I dare say that most of us knew most of the info in this preview already. Only the destroying of map objects and the stroy is new.
Still it's a start and it may herald more to come.
