then again, if you waited for an enemy to be near the middle of the battlefeild, then attacked with Banshees, then used the ability next turn it would be less expected.
I can totally imagine the AI putting their units in a position to take heavy damage from Banshees. Seriously, if you only had one HUGE Stack of Banshees, all the enemy neutrals would swarm around them stupidly.

Hmm I hope the AI can at least evaluate which upgrade is better in a given time but I doubt it.

meh if an enemy runs away or not seems so random sometimes as it is.
or are you reffering to what they build in towns? i think they will be scripted either to take what their resources allow or to take a set one that doesnt rely on tactics the AI lacks (like Crossbowmen>Marksmen)
btw. even i cant evaluate what upgrade is better at a given time...i wouldnt know if i wanted a banshee to destroy the enemies morale or i want to use a wraith because the enemy is going to use a phenoix. you just cant know

I think I'll get my chance to update my AI testing thread. Maybe the AI will pick specific ones according to the faction it faces but could be random for all we know.

Wow dont overestimate our AI friend... he has proven not to be too bright... and as I read your and alcs AI-testing ground (very funny sometimes^^) I think it will be programmed into them which upgrades/alts they'll buy kind of like the building order.

Elvin, could you link to your thead so I can download your file in readiness for my own brand of AI testing? I'm pretty sure there was a link to download there. Also, it's funny.

I don't recall having a link there. I have an early design of the map if you want me to email it to you but it would be better to wait. I'll repeat the experiment for TotE and I'm pretty sure the map won't be compatible(as H5 is not with HoF) so I'll have to make it from scratch. If you are interested in making your own tests then just tell me and we can both post our findings then.
Regardless I doubt the AI will be improved so the more important thing to try is what affects the AI's upgrade choices and maybe test how effectively the hero classes use their racials. I want to know if sylvan takes into account avenger, how effectively necros use necromancy, if artificer choices will change etc. Most of the times I've faced an AI wizard I see his units with initiative artifacts
If you have any other suggestions pm me but I won't proceed with the project for about a month+ due to exams.
Edit: The map shot was accidentally removed from imageshack so I restored it

So as it seems for now? Death wail is overpowered? But I must say it looks like a great ability

More like underpowered to me but we can't really comment without seeing how it will work. Even JJ said that it was the early formula so it might have changed by now.

If you are planning to use the ability to maximum effect then your artifacts and abilities will be focused on morale reduction and you will be raising banshees whenever possible.
More realistically in the course of normal play you should be able to get a decent amount of them compared to enemy numbers. The thing to remember is that it's hitting multiple units. This makes it like word of light and curse of the netherworld which deal as much damage as implosion but simply spread out among several different units.
So the factor that makes it useful is effecting multiple units. You wouldn't do it if you were only going to hit one or two creatures (and that goes for banshee wail and COTN).
It's better than no ability at all. The complaints that it's underpowered (on ubi forums, not you emilsn) remind me of complaints about wraith harm touch. Harm touch is fairly weak if you look at it terms of killing only 1 unit (I wish it was like mighty gorgon) but when you consider also that it dispells spells it becomes a better option.

Well, rushing slowly then.
I just mean attacking in the earlier stages as opposed to waiting for a big epic fight sequence.

What creatures can be hired in excess with the help of a building for example:the necro can hire an extra bone dragon and 5 skellies, fortress can hire another 4 brawlers, inferno 2 demons and 1 nightmare.
I think goblins due to the fact that they are sacrificeable and edible.
Next I think orc infantry, and maybe wyvern

This is not known to the General Public yet Bombur. We can safely assume that there will be one or two hoardbuildings in Stronghold/Bastion. But we do not know for which creature they are and unless there will be a demo(which I doubt), we will not know until the release.
Having said that, the argument you give for a hoardbuiling for Goblins isn't that bad. Having extra Goblins to throw, eat and sacrifice would be nice.
