Btw I think I saw 50 vermin suck 7 mana about 3 times. I might be mistaken but can someone take a look? AoH says 0.5 mana per stack so I got confused a bit. Maybe they only drain after another friendly unit has cast a spell?

No.. I had a Pit Fiend with 25/10 mana.. Before he had casted any spell, or even had a turn.

It seems to be point 5.  Perhaps they only drain as much as is needed.

I had 300+ Vermin suck only 46 mana or so. Definately not 50%. It could be that they suck 50% of the enemy's total mana, not sure. I'll take closer look ...

Anyway, it's a triggered ability, not an automatic once-per-combat ability. That does change the dynamics as well.

For the record the 50 vermin drained 7/70+ mana of my Agrael. So, the mana the pit fiends gain remain until the next battle? Probably not but I'd like to know if anyone tried it.

Ok, I've seen where the 0.5 comes from. That's how much the Vermin drain with respect to the Familairs. In other words, Vermin drain half of what Familairs do: 12.5% of their stack size in mana. So if you had 50 Vermin, they drained 50 x 0.125 = 6.25 mana. For what I have seen, it's rounded upwards.

The mana drained this way is spread over all caster units in the Hero's army. Excess mana points for casters is lost when the battle ends (as all casters in the Hero's army start with full mana again the next battle).

Edit: By the way, I had 415 Vermin, draining 52 mana. Seeing your Pit Fiends with 72/20 mana is scary ...

I generally think they made good decisions with the changes. Banish was clearly overpowered in late game before. I like the changes to Dark Renewal also.

The addition of free boarding to Snatch is cool, although they should have added it to Navigation instead. Would have made much more sense and provided just the vaguest justification for that skill being there in first place.

Several other Skills and Abilities should have been changed: Estates, Spoils Of War and Recruitement are long overdue for changes as discussed elsewhere, and personally I think bonus XP from Enlightenment could be increased to 10, 20 and 30 %.

Warpath seems like a wicked skill to use vs. AI if it still hoards single-creature caravans outside towns.

actually all. Look at their HP. And at some at their damage. It's true the blood rage lifts their stats, but until then they are kind of dum.

Not with their hp, no way to resurrect themselves and all the time it takes to reach lvl 3(while you are getting hit too). Not that it will not hurt when they do but if you let them live for that much you are asking for it.

And my tone wasn't serious anyway

Thanks, I'll correct that. Alc alerted me to the attack skill for rangers being at 6% now. I'm pretty sure it was 2% - I had played them very often recently.

The new skill wheel is a great. Not only warlocks where already grazy destructive casters but can now learn Ingite and Cold Death o-ou.
And for necros they still have useless leadership which sucks but ques what? They can learn EMPATHY! I cannot imagine more useless skill for necros than empathy. Creators must seriously stop drinking when deciding which skill they should add
