Lol yeah emphaty for necros doesn't make sense... anyways Warlocks now have Last Stand... that should be something most Dungeon players should be happy about no? That'll probably buy you a LOT of extra time.

yea but 2% chance for def screws it all. Defense would be a very important pick otherwise.

LOL! I'd think the opposite would happen. As for necro empathy not only is it impractical but makes little sense too.

Did you guys notice that during the week of Angels it says: Double growth for Angels, Arch Angels and Blood Angels guess that's bug...

btw, there's something I've been meaning to ask. Are orcs considered evil or good? (how the artifact of balance works on them, what can they sacrifice for xp, etc.)

They are evil 4 factions are good (Haven,Sylvan,Academy,Fortress) and 4 are evil (Inferno,Necropolis,Dungeon,Stronghold).

Thematically they are neutral but I don't think there is something official on it. No idea how that reflects on gameplay.

definatly evil, in the demo, a sword adds +3 attack and -1 defence for good, and -1 attack and +3 for defence for evil, Orcs was evil

however, with that sword, how would it work with renegades? and are we still going to call them renegades, all factions have them now

Yes. This is the only change in development probabilities: Rangers now have 6% chance for Attack (instead of 2%), and 4% chance for Light Magic (instead of 8%).

Also, Orcs are indeed considered "evil" for any alignment-related mechanics (morale...), making 4 factions on each side as Lord_Evil said. However, "evil" is not necessarily a good term here, as it's not really story-related.

I suggest using "alternative upgrades". They are completely part of the faction now, and have the same alignment. As far as I know, gameplaywise, both upgrades are totally equivalent.

I thought sorcery was the one dropped to 4%. I hope you made a mistake there, light would be a nasty nerfing...

Edit: Then again considering what else they get it might even be good.

Couldn't agree more with that... But if you look at the skill wheel it stills shows the chance of getting Light Magic at 8%...

My thinking is that by week 4 they are a force that can sweep through and kill much of the enemy army with avenger and luck.
I once faced them with a necropolis that had expert dark/destructive/enlightenment and same or higher level. The opponent had tactics and familiar ground so everything attacked and he also cast mass haste. I did not have mass slow but at any rate the best I could do was use puppet. I had no chance, they were killing me too fast and I did not even get to cast twice. Even with puppeted dragons that attacked his hunters. IMO sylvan would be more balanced if not all of its units could reach the enemy line in their first action...

Yes I probably could have gotten expert defense, yes I could have rushed them(considering the map had 2 towns and I went for mage guild 5 while the enemy for extra dwellings) - All these played a role in my loss.

But the point is that you are forced into special gameplay if you are to defeat them. Especially now that they get nature's luck easily and the new familiar ground gives +2 speed. Also the luck cap is increased so even with luck-decreasing artifacts they can still have 3+ luck, all they need is some arties or visit adventure locations. Or both..

Meanwhile I tried the method posted here and managed to play the renegades on arrogance. Unfortunately you can't play as player 1 or it will crash but player 2 and 3 slot works. Bad part is that those are haven-only.

Crossbowmen are what haven was missing for early. As for the new griffins their dive attack in a straight line two tiles wide and only towards the other side, never left or right.
Some footmen proceeded to attack the peasants that guarded my crossbowmen and the griffs hit both them and enemy archers lol

If someone manages to play with the orcs I'm interested

That's not the same info as what's in Aurelian's skill wheel, which gives us these propabilaties:

War Machines: 2 %
Light Magic: 8 %
Dark Magic: 2 %
Destructive Magic: 8 %
Summoning Magic: 2 %
Sorcery: 4 %
Attack: 6 %
Defence: 10 %
Luck: 15 %
Leadership: 8 %
Logistics: 15 %
Enlightenment: 10 %
(Sum: 90 %)
