Ambush?

Will Stealth heroes who go undetected by the enemy be able to ambush someone who passes through that space? (If they can't pass through it kind of defeats the purpose because then they know where you are, so I'm assuming that an army can pass through the same space on the map that is occupied by a stealth hero.)

I think you should be able to. If the entire group is hidden (perhaps a couple hundred bandits or so against only a hero with no Scouting), then when someone moves through that can't see you, you have the option to attack or allow them to pass. If you attack, you get to start anywhere on the battlefield after the enemy forces are set up, and depending on the difference between your Stealth and their best Scout, there is a chance (20% per level of difference) that you get a free first round with no retaliation before they can do anything. This way setting up too close to them can be a risk if you don't know their level of scouting - they could go first and tear you to pieces!

i don't think you will be allowed to pass the square where the stealth hero is hiding without a fight. that way you could end your round on top pf the stealth hero. i think that the stealth hero will either become visible, or there will be sth like an ambush. btw there is already some sort of ambush like thing when you visit treasuries, but i doubt they would use it in this case.. maybe.

There shouldn't be a problem with that - after all, the Stealth hero is hidden and you wouldn't see him. But perhaps you might notice which direction he goes if he leaves, although not his path after he leaves.

i would rather expect it like the stealth hero would be detected at certain range by other heroes. but being able to even walk over the stealth hero without noticing it sounds very scary.
*shivering at the thought of it*

StormWarning, how is this going to work in multiplayer games? Imagine this situation: Player A has a hero (hero A) with stealth. Hero B, which belongs to player B, gets to the place where hero A is. Player B suspects nothing, but at the same time, player A gets a choice between attacking and remaining hidden. Then hero B wants to move again, before player A has made his choice. What happens?

this could never happen...

considering that heroes is a turn-based game...

Zune, you're probably right, but that doesn't mean I can't dream ... It probably wouldn't work in hotseat, but the same type of idea could work if the Stealth hero/party attacks during his or her turn (the part about the possible free attack).
