Its more likely we will start with 6-7 factions again, then get 2 more

With new game they would need to redo every creature, which means we don't have current 8 factions to start with, instead we have 0, and everything starts all over again.

I hope they will prove me wrong, but its highly unlikely.

I still can't understand why is that?
Faction-wise Heroes 2 was a copy of Heroes 1 with 2 more factions and some upgrades. Heroes 3 used many creatures from Heroes 2 and some of the line-ups were very similiar.
I'm not saying that Heroes 6 will be a copy of Heroes 5, but I don't see a reason why they can't use some of Heroes 5 creatures in Heroes 6.

Seemingly, each game from H1-H3 added more towns. Then you have H4, which dropped some, and H5, which is pretty much maintaining the status quo of 8 towns from H3. (plus conflux, but that doesn't really count.)

H2 and H3 were made in other time eras of computer gaming industry, where sequels meant more stuff without many radical and/or graphical changes.

Nowadays primary objective is to introduce new graphics, mainly with keeping the same content or even decreasing it from previous games.

H5 increaesed the number of skills, overall creatures, but greatly decreased the number of spells and slightly decreased the number of base creatures, decreased the number of heroes.
Decreases in any field is considered as weak milking cow product by me, and todays games have them a bit too often.

They can use creatures from h5, but only as a name and stat, graphically it will need to be done from scratch, so its the same as not having the creature at all. (so it wont be any easier to make 11 factions in H6 than it would be making them in H5) - thus i dont think it will happen.

P.S. Actually conflux should count as much as any other town.

I don't really see any reason for introducing H6 anytime soon because it can hardly bring anything worth the money..
Further Expanding of H5 would be better, but capitalism doesnt work that way..

Nival obviously didn't want to repeat error that 3DO made by introducing many totally new mechanics at once. I feel that after they get some insight whats going on in heroes world and what players expect we will get another very good part, HVI that is.

My thoughts are that Heroes 6 will come out at the end of 2009.

I figure its going to be an updated version of Heroes V, with basically betterness everywhere (animations, More Heroes/Spells/Maps) a new faction (Nagas, or mabey free cities, and then Necropolis Renegades )  and at least one faction that gets revamped.  (Mabey acadamy goes back to the snow, and the dwarves either work for them or are just dead)  The game would have another Skill Set or two (Such as tactics moving out of Attack to be its own skill set like it should be, and mabey some sort of crafting thing (walls, buildings, weapons, armor))

Hopefully, as heroes 6 would also have a better map editor or sth.

I once heard someone say that Nival had intended to use Heroes 5 to test the waters to see whether there was still any money in the Heroes series, and that Heroes 6 would be the main project if that was the case. I guess that's why we only see a limited number of additions to Heroes 5 - and if it's true - which it might not be - Heroes 6 might come relatively soon after Heroes 5. But let's see what the future will bring - first TotE, then ...

Makes perfect sense to me. They wouldn't want to take a massive loss if they could avoid it.

I think that if they want to test the waters,
they will find them warm,
the Heroes games are popular,
though they don't take the world by storm,
They have a place on shelves of stores
Many people know it's there
And though they might not worship it,
To say it's unknown's unfair.

Behemoth as level 7?

So we have one more faction with no flyer after Fortress?

Heroes games may be popular but its very different from mmorpgs which are the real gold mines. I think that many (or most) homm players just download the game from net and don't buy it in the shop, which doesn't give them profit.

I do hope Behemoths get included as bad-ass neutral stacks then, level 7 ones. With an even deadlier and unfair attack than Dead Knights.

It's a common practice, all over.

However, computer games companies seem to ignore the main countries where piracy is at home, like Romania for instance. How to stop piracy or reduce it? I think changing their price policy in these countries, WOULD be a start. There are lots of us, romanians, who love the Heroes series and watch the DVD on the different shops every day, but then we look at the price and say "meh, that's half of the minimum wage! Can't afford it".

I think, that by reducing the prices with let's say 30-50% in these countries, the piracy would be lower and they'd even get some more cash.

I agree with Silinrul. I am from Romania to and for teenagers of my age the game costs way to much to afford it. And I don't want to buy any Zuma Deluxe if you get my point Who doesn't want the original dvd? Plus you have the online code which is very good. I always wanted to test my abilities with other players.

Well, for H6, I'm hoping they bring back seperate mighy and magic heroes for each factions (i.e. the two different types of heroes)
And I liked the behemoth better, but we get a laser cyclops!
