Morale/luck

Could I please get a confirmation (or false) for this; I read a ton of posts here, but couldn't find the precise info:

1. Good and bad morale are determined at the very beginning of the round
2. Creatures that get good morale play first
(could you please explain how does the order of play work when creatures are of same speed, I mean generaly, not only in this phase? And what happens when creatures that get positive morale press wait? Do they simply proceed to wait phase as if they waited in a normal phase?)
3. Creatures that get bad morale play after the wait phase (not sure of this)
4. The positive morale phase is followed by a normal phase where creatures may attack/defend/move or wait, according to their speed. Creatures that played in positive morale phase play here once more as well.
5. Normal phase is followed by a wait phase where creatures play opposite to their speeds
6. Wait phase is followed by a negative morale phase where creatures play according to their speed

7. Every point of morale/luck adds/substracts 10% chance of activation of good/bad morale/luck. So, if a creature has 10 morale it will always play in positive morale phase; if it has -10 it will always play in negative morale phase.
8. Beside the play order, does morale affects damage? I read it somewhere in the forums. If so, how is it calculated?
9. Is this correct for luck:
You'll receive 66% damage with good luck (because your troops get +50% defense) but the enemy will receive 150% damage with bad luck (his troops get -50% defense)
So, if you have +10 Luck you always take -33% damage from physical attacks, or will score +50% damage to the enemy with negative luck activated?

10. Is there some certain way to know where you need to place your unit to cover your other unit from ranged attack? It isn't a problem with large units, but sometimes I simply fail to position my Sprites correctly. Maybe it's just me and my eyes, and I should wear the Blind immunity helmet?

edit
p.s. unrelated, but could you please provide some links to get good pvp hot seat maps? I saw some private page a long time ago, but can't remember now

I haven't played H4 for a while now, I hope I don't give you wrong information...

1. correct
2. correct
I think If two or more units have the same speed it's random who acts first. If a unit with good morale waits, it gets to act after all other creatures without good morale. Just think of it this way: After morale is calculated, the act order of the creatures is determined, and waiting just "reverses" the order.
3. They simply get to act last, after all other creatures.
4. Creatures with good morale act once per round just like all other creatures.
5.-6. See above
7. I think you are correct
8. Good morale increases the damage by 25%..bad morale decreases the damage, I think the decrease is 25% as well, but I'm not sure about it.
9. Correct. Besides luck is also used for some spells like Lightning, so you can use Misfortune to increase your spells' damage
10. Can't help you there...

2. I didn't know it was random. I read somewhere that where units are positioned in slots somehow affects it, but it was elaborated.

Say this: there are two units with same speeds. One gets morale and waits. The other doesn't get morale but waits also. So, both units go to wait phase. But which unit will get to play first in wait phase? Is it random?

3. Is it random here also if units are of the same speed? Say that you have two units with same speed, they both get bad morale, is it random which one plays first?

4. I didn't know this. I heard that morale is stronger than in H3 but imo this would make it weaker if it is in lower numbers, say +1 or +2, if you get only 1 action with it. Ofcourse, this is only half of the tale, I guess attacking 7 times in a row with Mass Fervor shows how good morale actualy is in H4.
One more thing: if we have two units with the same speed but on the opposite sides, does the attacker (the army that initiated the conflict on adventure map) have the advantage (or disadvantage, however you put it) of playing first as in H3?

9. Didn't know also. Does this work with all damaging spells?

You were of great help

Each creature has a 10% chance of getting Good Morale each turn for every point of positive morale. +5 morale gives your 50% chance of getting Good Morale this turn.

Each creature has a 10% chance of getting Bad Morale each turn for each point of negative morale. -3 morale gives you a 30% chance of getting Bad Morale this turn.

Creatures which have gotten Good Morale this turn get a 25% attack bonus, and act before all creatures that have not gotten Good Morale.

Creatures which have gotten Bad Morale this turn get a 20% penalty to attack, and act after all creatures that have not gotten Bad Morale.

+25% is symmetrical with -20%, because it's 5/4 vs. 4/5.

Between creatures that are in the same morale category this turn, speed determines which moves first. The overall turn order is:

Creatures which got good morale, in decreasing order of speed.

Creatures which got normal morale, in decreasing order of speed.

Creatures which got bad morale, in decreasing order of speed.

Creatures which got bad morale and waited, in increasing order of speed.

Creatures which got normal morale and waited, in increasing order of speed.

Creatures which got good morale and waited, in increasing order of speed.

For each 10% of the original total hit points an army loses, it takes a 1 morale penalty.

For each 10% of the original total hit points the enemy loses, an army gains a +1 morale bonus, but only to offset the penalty it has suffered for losses.

I.e. if side A has taken 20% losses, and side B has taken 40%, side B gets a -2 penalty, and side A has no penalty or bonus.

If a creature actually gets bad morale in a particular turn, for that turn the creature has a 20% penalty to its attack skill, in addition to moving after all the other creatures.

Great stuff. So, if the speed is the same, order of play is random?

I don't like that loses stuff much. It's very hard to turn the battle around that way. Does the penalty apply to heroes as well?

I'm not convinced of this. Except in sieges and very difficult battles, I usually make my opening moves and then switch to auto, and in auto, I often see creatures make two moves. I have even seen elves make a double melee attack (like their 2-shot ranged attack). Perhaps there is a bug in auto comabt.
