Howls and roars were heard from outside the city, Dagda Mor ran toward the gates.

"Let me out!" he shouted, "They must be saved!"

The gates opened, and Dagda Mor stormed out. He rose his staff, and flames rose around the forest. He ran through it, and met several demons inside. They paid no attention to him, as they were slaughtering the Feorns.

"Time to die!" Dagda Mor roared, and sent the demons sprawling with a firebolt from his staff.

He looked through the Feorns, looking for life. One had survived, a young elf with a kind of guitar. He threw the elf over his shoulder, and started running against the city again. Then it grew dark. He threw up his staff, and fire erupted everywhere, but not close to him. It were dark all around, but the darkness were lightened up by the flames of Dagda Mor. Then he were out, sprinting for the city with the elf over his shoulder. Demons followed, some enormous and some smaller but quicker ones. Dagda Mor stopped and threw up a firewall.

"Run through this, you wimps!" he hissed, then turned for the city again.

The gates opened, and he ran inside.

"One surviver, everyone else is dead." Dagda Mor said, letting a healer get the injured elf. "And we are under siege."

Amy stirs and finally awakens.  Suprisingly she feels good after her long rest.  Looking around she notices that she is in the healers care.  Having been mistreated for sometime as the 'guest' of the witch she now looks a lot worse then she feels.  When she stands one of the healers comes over.  "Easy, you have got to rest.  We have seen people who died that looked better then you right now.  No offense meant.  You are not well enough to move about."

Amy looks at the healer and smiles softly.  "I am fine.  You need help, and I am a healer. Who is the worse off here right now?"

The healer gauged her for awhile, but something told him that it would be easier to arm wrestle a bear then to get her back into bed.  "Well somebody just brought in an elf, but havn't had time to look at them.  My apprentice thinks he is dead, however.  Lets go have a look, but go easy.  You need rest."

The two of them went to the elf.  The old healer looked at him.  "I don't think there is much we can do.  He is beyond our skill.  I will call for the undertaker."

Amy does not respond.  Already she could feel the need to heal this person taking over.  She could not help herself, she leaned in and placed her white hand on his forhead.  "Deaths door is not a one way door.  If the person's will to live is strong enough, they can come back through it.  All they need is a light to guide them back." her eyes go a milky white and her hand glows.  Expecting to feel the pain of death she is suprised.  Somehow the pain she experiences when she heals is less..still the injuries do seep into her.  As the person she is healing looks better and better, she becomes more and more pale. Amy is beyond breaking the touch again..the old healer or the person she is healing will have to have sense enough to break it for her...

Aeldon.
Aeldon.
AELDON!

"Wha... What is it? Who is that?"

It's me.

"Well... that isn't really very helpful. Wait... Are you the voice? The voice which enjoyed when I slaughtered my elven brethren?!"

No, not really. That was just a curse, a lesser demon inhabiting you... Whenever an elf kills another elf, a demon of bloodlust inhabits him. I banished it. You're safe now.

"Uhm... Thank you... I guess..."

No problem. I would banish your lycanthropy too, but it is a biological part of you, so I couldn't.

"But who... WHAT are you?"

I am G'Ibson. Your guitar.

"...What?! Am I dreaming? Am I dead?"

Something in between actually. You suffered some pretty tough blows... So I had to do something rather tough. I soul-linked us.

"You did what?"

I linked our souls. You received some of my spiritual energy, and survived. More or less. You're not REALLY alive, you see. But you're not dead either. Your life functions are usual, but you'll sort of depend on me. As I from you. We won't be able to separate from each other for a long time. We are one.

"No... Can't be... You are a guitar. An instrument!"

We are all instruments, Aeldon. Learn to live with it. Besides, I am not just any guitar, I am divine... or something.

"But... why? Why did you link us? Why did you save me?"

I don't know, I felt like it. You seem like a good guy. Besides, I wouldn't be looking forward to spending another couple of centuries on an altar waiting for someone worthy of holding me again. Now if you would be so kind to wake up, there is someone waiting for you. Healing your wounds and such.

"Alright... How do I wake up?"

Well it's usually enough to open your eyes.

Aeldon opened his eyes and saw a pale female arm holding his forehead. It was attached to a young, beautiful woman who seemed to be in some sort of a trance.

"H... hello?" he said carefully.

After having no response, Aeldon gently took her hand off. She opened her eyes and sat on the bed, dizzy.

"Are you alright?"

"Uh, yes" she replied with a voice whose beauty Aeldon could compare only to his mother's. "Yes, I am... Are you?"

"Well, I guess I am..." he said.

Aw, that is so sweet.

Aeldon shivered.

"You... you're real? You weren't a dream?!" he asked the voice.

"Excuse me?" the woman asked, confused.

"No, I'm talking to... never mind."

Right. I'm on the chair next to you. You might as well pick me up.

Aeldon glanced at the chair and saw G'Ibson laid there. He took it in his hands, and suddenly felt a relief.

However, a cold chill came from the other side of the room. Aeldon saw a hooded figure standing in the corner, watching him carefully. It finally approached him.

Whoa, this one seems pretty powerful. Something like a demon, just stronger and... with good intentions. Don't ask. It's not quite clear to me either.

Aeldon nodded to show that he heard what G'Ibson said, though he wasn't sure that's necessary.

"G'Ibson is right" the figure said, in a cold, but not too strange voice. "I mean you no harm."

Aeldon nodded again. It seemed to him he did a lot of nodding recently.

"Fair enough..." he said cautiously, deciding it would be best not to ask how the mysterious man heard the guitar's voice too. "You are...?"

"My name is of little consequence. And it is not praised in this place. There are far more important matters right now. Come, knowing Amy I think she healed you completely and that you're as good as new."

Almost jumping out of the bed, along with G'Ibson, Aeldon asked:
"What matters?"

"An army of demons will soon be upon the city. With Feorn defeated, the elves stand no chance. Everything is up to us."

"To us?? But... I am no match for those fiends. You saw that, didn't you?"

"Oh yes. That was before you became one with the most powerful magic instrument ever created. Now you can control it, Aeldon. You can control each other. You have gained a huge force, Sorrowleaf, that you will now need to use."

He's right, you know.

"Very well." Aeldon stopped. "Where is my mother?"

"She..." Amy started, but silence followed.

"When words of the exterminated Feorn reached the town, your mother thought you were dead and fell into despair... She... took her own life away."

Amy covered her eyes.

"W... what?" Aeldon whispered. "No... no... how could she... no..."

He fell on his knees, sorrow clenching his heart harder than ever. Several tears ran down his face.

"Why? All because... the demons... Wretches... Vile, corrupt wretches... And their sick ambitions..."

Dagda Mor lowered his head silently, closing his eyes. After several painful minutes, Aeldon stood up, cold, sharp feelings pouring from him.

"When will they be upon us?" he said calmly.

"Soon" Dagda Mor replied shortly.

"We will be ready then. But promise me one thing, whoever you are, stranger." Aeldon's eyes shined a lupine glow. "Their leader is mine."

Dagda Mor's eyes went wide open; this ... elf, had claimed to kill the unnamed one! Yes, the leader of the demons didn't have a name, he didn't need one. If he were called anything it was Morgawr, meaning Wraith.

"No." Dagda Mor hissed, "That thing betrayed me, he told the demons to go to war instead of following me!"

"I don't care, he is responsible for my mothers death!" Aeldon said.

"So don't let him be responsible for yours as well!" Dagda Mor growled, "Besides, when your mother died I was the leader. You know me well, I am the one that has always been. I have promised not to say my name out loud, but you know it well. Tell me, what's my name?"

"Dagda Mor..." Aeldon whispered, "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I got tired of war, and wanted to try something new." Dagda Mor said, "Besides, your instrument isn't powerful as my staff. You stand no chance against Morgawr, his magic will crush you. He is a match even for me, so you just keep those damn brothers of Reaper away from me, and I will be glad."

Dagda Mor smiled.

"Oh, you know the Reaper." he said, "A killer of nature, there are many of his kinds born. I didn't know this many still lived, it will be your responsibility to keep them away while I lighten up the Morgawr!"

"Peace for you is a thing to try? A mere experiment?!" Aeldon got furious. "You are no better than they are..."

He turned away and sighed deeply.

"Very well. Demon. You have saved my life. That does not justify your past actions, but it will buy you my trust. For the time being. You can have their leader. I shall take the rest of them."

Then he turned to Dagda Mor again and added:
"And no matter what destructive might your staff might have... it is always easier to destroy than to create. Music moves hearts. Music dances with feelings. Your staff... is just a tool."

Having said that, Aeldon walked out of the room.

Hey, thanks for backing me up...

"Look, I am not in the mood right now, alright?"

I understand. My sympathies for your mother. She was a wonderful person.

Instead of an answer, Aeldon sat on the marble stairs in front of the building and started playing.

Every night I have the same old dream
About you and me and what's in between
So many changes, so many lies
Try to run, try to hide
From everything that I feel inside
But I can't escape you or your frozen eyes...
Searching in the darkness
Fading out of sight
Love was here and gone like a thief in the night...
Stone cold...
and I thought I knew you so well
Stone cold
Can't break away from your spell

Another dark and empty night
If I was wrong I want to make it right
But you are so distant, so far away
Your words like ice fall on the ground
Breaking the silence without a sound
Oh familiar strangers with nothing to say
Searching in the darkness
Fading out of sight
Love was here and gone like a thief in the night...
Stone cold...
and I thought I knew you so well...
Stone cold
Can't break away from your spell...
You leave me stone cold...

Dagda Mor didn't move for a long time, he stood in one place. The elf were right, he knew. He could never be free of what he had done, and it haunted him. He closed his eyes; they hunted him. The ghosts of all the undeads he had caused the death to were there, the curse he carried. Then he moved, the staff were a tool, the music moved the heart. But demons had no heart, except him. He went through the corridors and out into the city, then he stopped. He couldn't let the younger elves see him, they would be terrified. He looked down. He could never live a life without peoples hating him. He had to do what he could to keep them safe, he had to do what he could to save the elves this one single time at least.

"But the demons are nothing." he whispered.

The power in the land were growing and gathering, something big was about to happen not all too soon. He had to survive so he could make his final stand there. If needed he would even sacrifice himself to get an end to this... he would not be a destroyer anymore, he would be a savior. He tightened his grip on the staff, and went inside to talk to the council one final time before he went to war against his blood-brothers.

For awhile not knowing what else to do, Amy healed.  Each seemed easier then the last, but something was wrong also.  She healed, and felt nothing.  Soon she could even look at those who were hurt, and not feel the pull to heal.  She still did heal, but it was if she was empty.  Wounds soon covered her body, but she felt not a one.  At first she was happy, happy to be free from the pain.  Then she realized it was only temporary.  Soon all of the pain and wounds she healed would catch up to her, and the only reason it didn't yet was the demon.  Somehow when she healed him, it had caused a reaction with her.

Going to the first aid tent she took some procautions and recieved healing before the wounds could catch up with her.  The healers were very confused.  Wounds covered every inch of her, but yet she walked around as if she was healthy.  Odd one this one.

She looked over the wall and noticed the huge demon army waiting out there.  Looks like this town would need help, she had very loyal followers, some very strong, but all of them combined would be but a thorn in the side of an army this big.  If they could time it right, however, they could be just the distraction needed.

Finding Dagda Mor was easy, she felt his presence from a long way away.  Just like the elf, and she did not know why.  Once she located Dagda she asked.  "Is there any magic you have to get a message to some people.  My followers are still out there, and they will attack regardless what we do.  They will die unless I can get them to act in unison with us.  My light magic can weaken the demons, but I can not fight.  I will not fight.  I am a healer.  Please is there anything you can do?"

Dagda Mor smiled sad, it was of course. He were able to leave his body in spirit form and travel over great distances without having to move his body. He nodded slowly.

"I can get to them if you tell me how to convince them, I cannot go in person, or take you with me. I can leave as a spirit and communicate with them through telepathy, they will hear me talking to their brains. I will not be able to defend myself if Morgawr feels the spirit though, if my spirit dies I am dead." he said, "But I will do it, put your hands on my head. It won't hurt you, you have to do it so you can talk to them yourself. When you feel them through me, you talk. They will hear what you say."

He went still, then went down on his knees and closed his eyes and traveled.

She had no fear that he would be hurt.  She could bring him back from even death if need be, even if it would cost her greatly.  As soon as she felt her followers, she passed on what to say.  "Fen down, 3 turns of the glass, light shall guide you.  Three gems will be needed, unlock the door. Peace be with you, I await."

It was in code of course, but they would understand.  Anybody listening would be clueless however.  Once everything was secure, and her magic ensured nobody could hear, she told Dagda what it meant.  "Stand down until three hours from now.  I shall unleash a light to signal their attack.  They will come from 3 sides, and push to the gate. We have three hours to get our offensive ready.  I may not be a fighter, but I can still give out spells to help in the attack.  I give you my word, those who fall will rise again, until I can do no more."

Aeldon wandered the streets of the city until he stumbled upon the palace. Quickly, the king with several council members he came out and greeted the bard.

"Peace with you, young Sorrowleaf."

"Peace. The only thing that I never seem to have."

"We shall have it. I promise you! When the demon army is pushed back..."

"When it is pushed back, I will hunt them down one by one until none of them is left to plague this world."

"Indeed... And the world shall be grateful."

"I need no gratitude. Not anymore."

"I... I am terribly sorry about your..."

"Yes. I know. Everyone is, now that is too late."

"What are you implying?"

"I am implying that the finest warriors of all elvenkind were slaughtered and exterminated for nothing... That your mission failed and you care about your status too much to admit that you were wrong!"

"Watch your tone, Sorrowleaf! You shall not speak to your king that way!" the king said, sharply.

"I have no king but destiny" Aeldon hissed, as the horns were heard. War horns.

"They are approaching!" the king yelled. Then he turned around to a military commander. "Man the walls! Bring as many troops as you can muster! Sorrowleaf, you... Sorrowleaf?"

Aeldon was already gone. Running through the tight city streets, through masses of frightened people, he climbed the wall to have a better look.

Look at their numbers... This is going to be fun as ever.

"What do you predict?" Aeldon asked.

Well, they are more cunning than they look. If you let them approach, they will climb the walls and descend on the city before we are able to distract them.

"But if we go out..."

Exactly. Bring the battle to them. I guess I should now say something like 'No, Aeldon, that's suicide!' but we all know it's going to be fun as ever... Aeldon was sure he could sense some sort of a grin in G'Ibson's voice.

"Shall we call upon Mor?"

Oh he'll come. As soon as we go out, he'll join us. Insanity is contagious. Aeldon could almost hear the guitar's laughter.

"Fair enough." Aeldon turned to gate guards. "Open the gates!"

"But we have orders not to" the guards replied. "It is too perilous."

Aeldon sighed. "Hold on, G'Ibson."

What are you trying to...

Aeldon grabbed the guitar as hard as he could and jumped from the edge of the wall.

YOU'LL KILL YOURSELF!

Falling down the ten-meter tall wall, Aeldon's skeleton changed, his limbs stretched, dark hair sprayed out of him, and a werewolf landed at the bottom, crouching, and unharmed. He let out a horrifying howl as he turned back into human form.

Cunning. Surprisingly cunning.

"Thank you. Shall we play something for our demon audience?"

Most certainly...

Kill for gain or shoot to maim
But we don't need a reason
The golden goose is on the loose
And never out of season
Some blackened pride still burns inside
This shell of bloody treason
Here's my gun for a barrel of fun
For the love of living death.

The killers breed or the demons seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain,
But don't you pray for my soul anymore.
Two minutes to midnight
The hands that threaten doom.
Two minutes to midnight
To kill the unborn in the womb...

As the riffs started, the demons slowed their march. They seemed confused and held back, as if some force made them reconsider the attack. Light fused from the lone bard, breaking some of the darkness the leader of the demons brought upon the city. Otherworldly flashes stunned some beasts, and it was obvious they have noticed the power of the instrument. The elven troops gathered on the walls started cheering, their morale suddenly higher, and their resolve unbreakable.

Now we just wait for our friend to join us...

In the same second as Dagda Mor had heard the battle horn he had been on the walls. His staff were buried in the stone, and he watched the giant demon army come for them. He smiled, he would not die today. He would never die. Then he noticed that the boy were outside the walls, singing and playing to keep the demons at bay. And it seemed to work, they slowed, and in the same instant Amy sent the light up. It stunned some demons, those of greatest darkness, but Morgawr hurried swallowing the light with his darkness. Dagda Mor jumped over the wall, down onto the ground. Then he heard screams, and Amy's followers rushed into the demons. They would die, but for a cause they believed in at least. He let his fire sweep the first row of demons, leaving their burned flesh behind. Now the elves let arrows rain onto the demons, and there were a moment of confusion. Then Morgawr rose above them, sitting on top of a giant bat.

"Go for the walls, slay those of the humans closest to you, then go for the walls!" he screamed.

"I am waiting for you!" Dagda Mor whispered, pointing upward with his staff.

Fire pierced the bat, but it survived. Morgawr answered by sending darkness down for Dagda Mor, but the attack were blocked by a movement of the staff.

"You cannot kill me, Wraith!" Dagda Mor roared, then rose a wall of fire to stop the demon army. "I will put an end to you!"

"Try me!" Morgawr shouted, and send darkness for the elven boy.

Dagda Mor sent his fire through the air, and stopped the darkness once again. Then the beam of fire went upward, and burned the bat again. The bat fell, and struck the ground. Morgawr rose, still alive, still able to fight. The wall of fire stopped, and the demons advanced, Amy's followers only being helpful for a few minutes.

Amy found a dagger and went to the wall.  Focusing on Aeldon and Dagda Mor, she cut her white arm.  As the blood came she started to weaken, but it might be enough.  She cast a mass endurance, followed by a mass bless. Then, she started to ressurect her followers.  There is no way she could keep it up long, even her healing had it's limits.  It might turn the tide of battle, however. Everytime either of the spells failed, she recast it, always concentrating on Aeldon and Dagda.  She knew it was those two who would win this fight, if anybody.

As the humans rushed into the fray, Aeldon closed his eyes. After what those demons did to the finest warriors of elvenkind, the humans could do little indeed. But when he opened his eyes again, he saw them raise from the dead and fight once again.

It's the healer lady. She seems rather strong, but her power pours out from her with her blood. Soon she will be too weakened to do anything. You'd better hurry.

Demons started their charge. They would reach the walls and decimate the archers, while Morgawr would battle Dagda Mor. Aeldon's purpose was obvious - stop the wall assault at all costs.

"G'Ibson, I need you to try to keep my mind as focused as possible."

Why? What are you up to? ... Oh. I see. It's risky.

"I know. But like you said, it's going to be fun as ever." A slightly demented smile crossed Aeldon's face as he knelt on the ground and started changing.

Concentrate... Concentrate...

As Aeldon's body reshaped again, pain engulfed his mind in a frenzy. But he controlled it. He had to control it for what he was going to try to pull off.

Finally, his werewolf form was ready. But, though brutally strong, Aeldon was not a mindless beast - through guidance of G'Ibson, this time he retained his human senses. The hairy fingers with vicious claws grabbed the guitar and started playing a ferociously mighty melody. He growled instead of singing, his voice utterly reshaped and bestial.

Pray for blood
Pray for the cleansing
Pray for the flood
Pray for the end of this nightmare
This lie of a nightmare as quickly as it came dissolve

He charged at the approaching demons, butchering some with his claws as he played on almost acrobatically.

We seek only reprieve
And welcome the darkness
The myth of a meaning, so lost and forgotten

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
WALK WITH ME IN HELL

Growling this, he threw the guitar in the air, stuck his claws in two demons, ripped out their hearts and tossed them away. Then he grabbed G'Ibson again.

Pray for solace
Pray for resolve
Pray for a savior
Pray for deliverance
Some kind of purpose, a glimpse of a light in this void of existence

As Aeldon pushed on through, the demons noticed a hole in their ranks. As they all charged the werewolf, Dagda Mor cast a huge fireball that killed several of them outright, and wounded a dozen more.

Now witness the end of an age
Hope dies in hands of believers
Who seek the truth in the liar's eyes

Cleaving through the demon forces, Aeldon was surprised as to how much his power had increased. The thirst for revenge drove him onwards and onwards, but demons did not seem to panic. They knew they would face far worse fates from their superiors if they ran.

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
WALK WITH ME IN HELL...

Aeldon's song was nearing its end as Dagda Mor finally cast his attention toward the leader of the demons. Now in a state of utter bloodthirst, the werewolf played more and more brutally, at the same time crushing more and more enemies beneath his claws.

You're never alone
You're never alone
YOU'RE NEVER ALONE
WALK
WITH
ME
IN
HEEEEEEELL

Most demons finally backed off a few meters, and Aeldon used that pause to take a deep breath and rest for a second. He had slain many, but even more awaited. Elven arrows still helped him from the walls, as did Amy's magic and her undying servants. But he knew that if they were to survive, the battle had to be over soon - by killing the demon leader.

And that was Dagda Mor's part.

Dagda Mor looked Morgawr straight into the eyes, Morgawr looked everywhere else but in Dagda Mors. He rose his staff and pointed, red fire struck at what had become a shield of darkness in front of Morgawr. Morgawr were fell to the ground from the power in the blow. Dagda Mor halved the distance, all demons in his way dies. Morgawr were on his feet again, the demons ringed them now, no one dared entering the ring. Morgawr sent the darkness for Dagda Mor, but a single slash by the staff were enough to stop it. Dagda Mor were stronger than ever, love were truly stronger than hate. Dagda Mor moved closer again, and now he were only ten feet away from Morgawr. A Reaper ran out to get Dagda Mor, and Dagda Mor burned it to ashes. That distraction was all Morgawr needed to get Dagda Mor, he bore him to the ground and took the staff out of his hands. Dagda Mor grabbed Morgawrs throath, and tore it apart. Morgawr wheeled back, trying to breath, his power fading.

"It's time for you to leave this world!" Dagda Mor said, struggling to his feet.

Several demons attacked, but they were all killed. Morgawr were on his knees, desperately trying to engulf Dagda Mor in darkness. Dagda Mor pierced Morgawr with the staff, letting the flames of hell seep into the wraiths body. He used all his power, letting it flow as destruction into Morgawr. It took a lot, but a lot was needed to kill the leader of the demons. Or else he would survive, which he should not! Dagda Mor fell to one knee, as the body of Morgawr fell backward. It was burned beyond recognition, and the wraith were finally dead. Dagda Mor coughed, struggling to rise. The demons were on him in a rush, knowing him as the most dangerous enemy now. Dagda Mor stood his ground a few seconds, then went down.

The wall she was standing seemed to give way, as if becoming unstable.  Then she realized it was not the wall but her legs.  Something struck her and turned her around, and then she was falling.  Facing up to the sky the fall seemed to last forever.  She felt something wet on her face, and she realized it was a mixture of tears and rain.  She was dying, and she knew it.  As soon as she hit the ground darkness would consume her, and she would be no more.

Peace flooded into her.  No more pain, no more suffering, it would be wonderful.  She saw an angel reaching down for her.  This angel was somehow differnt, it's eyes full of fire and hope.  She reached out to it, knowing it was a Guardian Angel.  It had come to carry her home.  A wave of light went from her body, and for a moment everybody could see what she saw.  All the fallen that were her allies rose one more time, for the last time.  She would heal no more.  This time, somebody would have to call her back she would not be healing them or herself.  Darkness enfolded her, and the rain poured down...

Dagda Mor let out one final explosion, and sent all demons that was close to him away. Then he passed out. The humans rushed for him, and those demons still close to him were killed. They brought him for the gates, and while they got him inside elven cavalry and archers kept the demons at bay.

"Everyone inside!" someone shouted, and the cavalry returned.

Half of the demons were dead, still the number of demons were much greater than the number of elves. The elves had only lost a few soldiers, but Dagda Mor were greatly damaged, and Aeldon had a few injuries. The healer were unconscious, and would not be healthy enough to do such a powerful mass-resurrection again in a long time. The demons had to be more careful though, they needed all their force to get inside, but if they got in nothing could stop them...

The healer!

Aeldon turned around and saw Amy on the ground in front of the wall. A few demons approached her. Aeldon leaped over some of the demons that surrounded him and got to Amy - he killed one demon with bare claws and two with G'Ibson's lightnings.

He used G'Ibson to set up a minor, about 3 meter wide force field and returned to human form. He kneeled beside Amy.

"G'Ibson, cure her!"

I can't... I'm already soulbound to you. The tie is unbreakable. I am sorry.

"No! I won't let her die! My mother was too much sacrifice already, at least the healer must be saved..."

But it isn't possible... Except...

"Except what?"

Well... You are a werewolf, right?

Aeldon thought about it. At first he couldn't see what G'Ibson was implying, but then he understood. He saw Amy's dagger and took it. Cutting his hand, he let the blood pour down to her mouth.

She wouldn't become a werewolf, of course, but her regeneration capabilities would surely increase, at least temporarily. After he finished, he played in anticipation.

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze
Come on you target for far away laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!

You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far.
Shine on you crazy diamond
Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond
And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph, and sail on the steel breeze
Come on you girl child, you winner and loser, come on you miner for truth and delusion,
and shine!

He waited a few more moments, though every second was precious. The demons already gathered what's left of them for the last, decisive assault. Finally, Amy moved her fingers slowly and opened her eyes.

"Don't talk" Aeldon said shortly. "Save your strength."

He put Amy on his back, as G'Ibson fired a warning lightning at nearby demons, stunning them for some time. Then he ran through them until he reached the gates.

"Open up!"

"The demons are too close!"

Aeldon sighed and put up another force field, this time in front of the gate. It would only last for a few moments because of its size, but it would be enough.

"Now can you open the gates?"

The gates opened and Aeldon got in, the gates closing behind him again.

That was close...

The demons pulled back into the forest then, the dark closing in rapidly now.

"They will attack at sunrise." Dagda Mor declared, "That's what I told them to be the best way to catch an enemy off-guard."

He were sitting in a chair, not able to stand this time, and talking to the council. He were still recovering, his powers coming back, but slowly.

"I want the earth in front of the wall full of oil, as much as you can manage to put there within middle of night." he continued, "And when half of the demons are past the oiled area you lighten it up, those who won't die will be cut off from the others and free to be slain by your cavalry and archers."

"Are you sure it will work?" an elf said, "It sound risky, what if they come in middle of night instead of the morning?"

"They won't." Dagda Mor said, "They know you may think they will, but in the morning everyone is tired and will be thinking about anything else than an attack."

"The plan sound good, but what about the other half of the army?" one of the other men said.

"You fight them from the walls. Spears, rocks, arrows; use anything you can get to keep them away." Dagda Mor said, "If I recover well enough until then I can help you."

"It sounds good, do you have anything to say to this plan Aeldon?" the king said.

Amy awoke, suprised to still be alive.  She hurt all over, though.  Looking around she was back in the healers tent.  At least there seemed to be fewer injured then before.  Instinct took over and she reached out her hand to heal...and nothing.  The person she touched was not heal.  Further her hand was a normal color, well except a very thin white strip. She must be drained of healing, she had never had that happen before.

Not one to take it easy, despite the pain, she started to act as a nurse to the injured.  Bringing water, food, bandages, and such as needed.  She could not stand to see anybody hurt or injured.  Looking at all the injured around something stirred in her.  It wasn't right.  All this pain and suffering, and the demons outside were to blame.  The more she worked the madder she got.  Something broke inside of her when somebody she was tending, a young man, died.  She calmly put aside all her healing instruments, and walked out of the tent. She found Dagda.

"Dagda, find me some armor, and a mace.  When they come, I will fight.  I may not be able to heal for some time.  I will not be useless.  If you will not, I will get somebody else who will."

He looked at her a long time.

"I will only accept that you enter the battlefield if you promise to stay close to me." he said.

"I can do that." she answered.

"Do you have any experience from war from earlier?" he asked.

"No." she answered, still she looked sure that she wanted to go out.

"I will train you the best I can, we have about three hour until the demons will attack." he said, "I will make the armor myself, I can give the steel much more strength with the heat I am able to get."

She followed him out, and went for the smith.

"Please don't look, the light is so bright that it's possible to get blind." he said.

She turned around and he started.

It took him half an hour to make the armor, and he had also made her two short swords to use.

"Two swords? No shield?" she asked, clearly surprised.

"Shields are no use, you are not strong enough to use it for protection. You must use your speed to stay safe." Dagda Mor said, "Now get the armor on."

"Ok, turn away then." she said.

"I am a demon, I don't care about such things..." he said, and turned away.

After a short time she told him to turn back again, and he saw that the armor were made perfectly. It were light, almost white metal, made in a way that could resist fire, arrows, claws, teeth and everything else the demons could use at her. The only vulnerable place on her body was  her face and head, she didn't have a helmet. They found an empty place, and he took up her staff.

"I will only strike at you, and test your skills at first." he said.

"Ok, bring it on!" she whispered.

He stroke at her legs first, and she went down.

"Focus!" he hissed, and before she could get up he struck at her head with the staff.

She blocked the blow with both of the swords, slashing against his foot. He jumped easy away, and she got up.

"Come on, attack me." he whispered, and she did.

She tried to hit him, but he were too fast, and blocked all the blows with his staff. Then the staff hit her at the head, and she fell to her knees, tears coming into her eyes.

"Protect your head." he said, took her hand and helped her up.

She looked at him, then stroke once more, the strike almost hitting him. He jumped away, landing on the other side of her.

"Good, use your speed. Don't think, it will make you slower. Let your instinct control you, ok?" he said.

"Ok." she breathed.

She slashed with such speed and strength that he were forced a step backward. Then he started using his staff offensive, and she were knocked to the ground again.

"You have two swords, block with one and pierce with the other one if you must defend yourself." he said, she nodded.

He struck again, she blocked the blow and grabbed her hand. She were forced to the ground, and he smiled.

"Never let an opening to take you, use your speed. Don't think." he said, and helped her up again.

This time she didn't fall, they fought for half an hour, before he summoned his fire and sent it at her. She were lifted from the ground, and sent over 20 feet away. She struck the ground and gasped. He walked over to her.

"The armor protects you even from me now, I could kill you if I wanted too, but I don't want too." he said, "The only thing you felt now were that you struck the ground."

She nodded.

"I am ok." she said, "Was I good?"

"You are a better fighter than most of the elven soldiers." he said, then followed her to the walls.

Elves looked dark at him when he came.

"They don't know me as a friend yet, even if I killed a lot of demons out there. They never will, and I understand them. I am responsible for many deaths, and I have to live with all of them." Dagda Mor said, "When you healed me you didn't only heal the psychical wounds. He declared, before you did I were haunted by the ghost of the undeads I had killed. When you helped me you saved me from a faith worse than death. I owe you my life, and I will do whatever I can to keep you safe in this battle."
