Antonio McDyes blew it by giving up that flaguent foul in the 1st Q.
Yea Lebron proved what we all heard & some never seen a clevland game why he is so great.
A great passer who is generous.
Great shooter.
great in the paint.
Good rebounder & good defensively.
If it was not for that dude, Clevland would be a team with unknowns.
In 10 yrs from now, no one will remember anyone who played for this clevland team except James.

Like Iverson & Phili making it to the finals.
He was the only one who did it.
So who were the other guys in that team

Well this thread has gone downhill ever since the finals started. Man those Cavs are probably gonna get swept even though the two times these two teams met in the regular season, the Cavs beat them twice.

I really think the Cavs are just not playing to their full potential to any degree. They are missing easy shots and just not coming through in the clutch. This last game they should have won for sure. I don't think the Cavs will get swept, but I think its more likely they'll get swept then them making it back to game 7.

Ummm memories... The big man Dikembe Mutombo gave Shaq quite a hard time but he was already too old even back then to battle Shaq in the paint. Was Aron Mckie also in that team? Cause he was a great point guard and shot the ball well in his philly days. And the fat Derek Coleman past his peak but still a good outside shooter, these are the guys I remember but I have my suspision that Matt Harpring and the now retired Todd MacCuloch were there somewhere too

Quite surprising first games I would say.

Celtics lost, Heats lost badly (only 64 points ), and the Mavs stole homefield advantage

You forgot to mention Orlando blew their 20 point lead in the fourth quarter.

So I'm thinking that the best way to do this is to take the difference in wins for each team and your predictions. So to win you want the lowest score.

So suppose I choose the Lakers to sweep the Jazz and they do. Then my score would be 0. But if the Jazz sweep the Lakers instead, then my score would be 8.

Bulls Celts game 2 was insane. Ben Gordon and Ray Allen put on a show unlike anything Ive ever seen since the early 90's playoffs.

The NBA has ridiculous talent in this generation and they are mostly young guns, which means awesome basketball for years to come.......Thanks to the Redeem Team USA has the gold back

Back to playoffs, if last years trends hold true than we shall see the Celtics in an insane 7 game 1st round series with a bulls team noone saw coming.

And to my boy D Wade, one bad game doesn't mean theyre out, true the hawks are a force but Wade has a will to win that eclipses anyone's on the hawks......will be interesting.

Finally, being that I am a Knicks fan Thank God Isiah is gone, I still think the franchise is doomed until Dolan is gone. Worst run franchise in all of basketball, not to mention highest grossing and highest payroll. Disgusting.

The Knicks have room in their payroll so they can have a chance on some of the great talent that will be on waivers in 2010.
SOme names if I remember right is Lebron James, Chris Bosh,Amare Staudamire & a few big names I cant remember off hand.

That is why your Knicks traded Zach & Crawford to us.
So yall can have a bankroll to try to land on one of these great talents,
Can you imagine getting Lebron on your team

Knicks still have to move either Nate Robinson or David Lee to get under the cap. The only two good things left on the Knicks since moving Crawford and Randolf.  Wade is another on the list that will be on the free agent market along with Nash.  wade already said that he will not go to New York and I can guarantee that Lebron will not go to New York........... 1st he will win a championship either this seasn or next, 2 he is an Ohio boy, has been his whole life, 3  EVERYBODY in the NBA will hate him, he will be labeled a "sellout" and he won't be able to show his face in Cleveland........ Do you remember October baseball 2 years ago? Lebron showed up to Indians field wearing a yankees cap during the first round of the playoffs and got booed out of the stadium........

Chris Bosh, Stoudemire, great players, but they are currently in the NBA and can't do squat. What differnece will a change of cities make?? nash may show his face in New York to follow D'Antoni but he's a dinosaur and couldn't get out the first round in phoenix for years.

What the Knicks need is a change in mentality, new upper level management. Don Walsh - hired by Dolan who in turn hired D'Antoni.
Mike is a great coach but not a championship coach. The recent Playoff  winners all had 1 thing in common - Detriot, San Antonio, Boston.............GREAT DEFENSE Something D'Antoni and the Knicks know nothing about........

The Knicks put all their eggs in a basket they can't fill.....I can go on and on, I'd love to see the Knicks do better, I'm a huge fan, but summer of 2010 is beyond wishful thinking, it's an excuse for this year and next as to why they suck so bad

I think D'Antoni is a good coach and I think in a couple years you'll see the Knicks as a very good team. If the Suns played a little better defense they would have got past the Spurs. They don't need to play a lot of defense, just enough to win games.

It's not about defense, it's more about point differential. If you can hold a good team to 95 and still score 100+ against the best defensive team in the league, you can win championships.

No way man. I agree D'Antoni is a good coach but offense will not win you champioships.  Look at the best teams in the league.

Cavs - great team D and Lebron is going to take MVP, you don't win MVP without steals blocks and rebounds - all defense.

Celtics - KG and Rondo are monstrous defenders. on top of having won defensive POY last year (KG) their team D is great.

Orlando - Dwight Howard is Defensive POY and they are in top 6 as far as points against.

Lakers - Kobe was MVP lat year (same argument as for Lebron) Kobe is a rare exception to the offensive rule because he is simply undefendable. Only other player that was as ungaurdable as Kobe was Jordan hence the Lakers and Bulls championships.

San Antonio - you said it your self, Phoenix couldn't beat them in round 1, and it was a few years running that they couldn't do it. Popovich invented defense - simply best team D in the league for the last decade or so.

If this isn't enough to convince you, look at the points for statistics........ Knicks, Warriors, Indiana, & phoenix are among the leaders, and where are they now?? At home, on the couch, watching the playoffs on TV

Lakers showed a great game2 vs the Jazz yesterday. Just take a look at their stats:
60% fieldgoal percentage ()
55% 3pointers percentage ()
7 players scored 10 or more points ()

Don't be ashamed Jazz...it's hard to win vs such a great team performance...

Phoenix had more then enough chances to beat San Antonio in the past.
I admit that San Antonio cheaped their way into the next round.
A good example was when Horry tossed Nash accross the arena like a rag doll.
Amare got up to defend his team mate like the others & Amare got suspended one key game while Horry who SA did not need was suspended 3 games I think.

If D Antoni coached SA, LA or Cleveland I garuntee things will be different.

He is improving your crappy team.
Your team is screwed up & they are trying different things.
Your crappy team had to buy free food for fans because they sucked so bad during the last game of the reg season last season.

You just got to be patient.
D Antoni is a good coach. He had a chance to go far.
This era, it's not easy to beat an awesome LA team or Cleveland.
Getting Mo just gave what Cleveland needed. A Reliable PG.

Just see what happens.
They got a salary cap for a reason.

At least you did not trade Anferne Hardaway & 3-4 conditional 1st round picks for Weber

I already said it's about point differential. All those teams you mentioned don't have a good point differential. Phoenix is only +1.92. Warriors, are -3.74.

The Lakers score 107 a game on average, and they give up 100 a game. This is enough to win a championship. There were plenty of years that Phoenix was score 108+ and giving up around 100-101 points. They could have won at least one championship. That last championship by the Spurs should have been won by the Suns. And they would have steam-rolled the Cavaliers that year.

Championship caliber is probably +8 point differential or more. Last year the Celtics were like +12.

People always say that defense wins in football, but if you look at the Rams back in 2000. They got a championship by score a billion points and playing modest defense.

If you can score the lights out and play modest defense. You have a shot to win it all. That's what you see in the Lakers.
