Yes but that doesnt mean that the conceptual mythology and folklore that created the fundamental idea of what a titan is, isnt relative. Why would Titans ever have been introduced into the HoMM series if there was no generally understood concept of what a Titan was.

Instead of reading "Faction race" it would be more in order to think of it as "the race that LEADS the factions".

Haven - Humans
Sylvan - Elves
Academy - WIZARDS
Dungeon - Dark Elves
Necropolis - Most likely Liches. In any case, undead.
