Well - this is where I disagree. I haven't seen anything to indicate that the Alternatives have a different ideology. Quite on the contrary, they are the same faction, just different units.

I disagree Alcibiades, dungeon alternates seem demon corrupted, the elves have lost their peacefull way of being and look thirsty for revenge, necropolis will most likely end its neutrality in favor of demon hunting, and the demons... well here I'm not sure but there will be something. (I'm not really a kid anymore considering the fact I'm 24)

you felt necro demon hunting basing on their clothes  they haven't mufflers with "we wanna demons' blood" sign but yes, alternatives are... different. I ever did't expect elves in light blue with gay dragon. this colour completly do not call to mind elven true nature (oh, maybe yeah, yeah, blue sky, clean water and light blue pills for obstipation after feast with roast deers)

no, dungeon can't be demon corrupted anymore (I'd say they had alliance, but weren't corrupted...)

Thralsai may be dead but Shadya(Biara) isn't, and so the soulscar shall be corrupted once more.(I'm pretty sure about that)
Arantir will fight against the demon messiah(demons in general) so it will most likely form an alliance with the others. He will probably have an alternate army.( so they will fight against demons, the undead and demons may have been allies in previous games but not in this one, from the neutrality of Markal who was pursuing his own ends to Arantir's open attack against them).
The elves will probably be devastated by the ravaging of their kingdom after Nicolai's attack, and so they've become eager for vengeance( no more mr. poetic nice guy)....and so on
also on AoH news some time ago it was said as official info that the alternates will share slightly different beliefs.

About the Necropolis upgrades (this is random) They're all pink. Is ubi trying to send a message that Gay people are all dead?

What is for sure is the tidbit that there is no background on the alternates. They just appear for gameplay reasons, end of story. IF things happen as you predict that will not be related to them as you can choose either upgrade anyway.

every creature has a description, right?
from there even if we didn't play HoF campaigns we would know that the renegades are fanatics.
same goes for the rest of the alternates

Don't forget that gay flag is rainbow, not pink. Pink is mis-associated with gay ppl

If you want to buy renegade troops in your haven town , i have a simple way to do that :
open map editor and choice a town you want to recruit the renegades
then open map properties tree of the town you selected
click "Shared" then click "...." and you will see new window
select "building"--->"( I fogot )Dwelling1/peasant_cabins..." something like that sorry i don't remember yet
then a new window opened , click "Creatures" then change "CREATURE_MILITALYMAN"---->"CREATURE_LANLORD"
and you'll buy Enforcer in game
That's a exam
you'll do that for Marksman-->Archangel to Crossbowman-->Fallen Angel
you may be do that for all town and all creatures

i wouldn't really call Phoenix weaker than Black Dragon or Magma Dragon.
sure Phoenixes damage isn't too awesome but it has pretty good defense and attack skill, and also it has initiave that allows it to move almost 2 times in the time black dragon and magma dragon moves once.
it has immunity to fire so magma shield shouldn't work i assume? it also has fire shield of it's own and HP is pretty crap but it has rebirth to make up for it.
as a unit it's pretty equal but the ridicilous cost is what makes it much worse compared to black and magma

rebirth only counts in an end game battle, but otherwise if the entire stack isn't killed they won't ressurect the lost phoenixes after the battle, which leaves them with a mere 150hp(very low)
