Ridiculous abilities? Discussion of new TotE Unit Abilities.

ok so here's the list alci posted in the main TotE topic with my comments about the ones that seem ridiculous one way or another.. sorry I just had to re-post it, the main topic is the main topic, not some special-discussion thread..

Sorry it's kind of a BAD special imo. Unless you want to drop light magic and go full destructive, that is (using the high druids' power)

ohh boy..


Magma dragons and titans' alternatives have also quite underpowered specials; given how hard is to get a decent ammount of them, their specials will deal like 100 damage, which is another soulfire-alike crap. Sad.

I think you misunderstand this ability. As I read it, it will work like Mark of the Wizard. Any Light Magic spell cast by either side will also be cast on the Unicorn. Resurrection ... woohoo.

3) One of the upgrades for Orc warrior can take hits, which were targeted on a nearby friendly stacks, also his retaliation attack is two times stronger than normal attack.

Like martyr from h4. or... from my inferno renegades like it, though

4) Shamans � Human and succubus hybrids can cast haste and slow. One of the upgrades, when engaged in hand-to-hand combat will curse (Slow, Weakness, Curse, Disrupting ray) the opponent.

Weakness and Curse? wtf?

7) Cyclops is a strong hand-to-hand fighter, with an ability to attack walls, when in siege battle. One of the upgrades for Cyclops can shoot beam from his eye that affects several creatures, and decreases his victims luck.

yeah, Star Wars! looks like TotE brings luck merry-go-round

Necropolis

wasn't that aura? I mean surrounding creatures would be more balanced

4) When Nosferatu attacks, he can put creature to sleep for three rounds.

too much IMO. average damage of N the same as VL, even higher hit points (but this really decreases life drain effect)

4) Battle mages have a little amount of spells, their shoot only hits one target.

so they have spells!

Hmm, what I think I will be doing with this ability is pulling enemy shooters from the backlines to the middle of the battlefield

wow, the Banshees turned out to be horrible creatures. all that damage loss so that you can do something the zombies already do for you?

rofl at sharpshooters.

rofl at defenders.

rofl at succubus temptress. now they can use puppet master for free like Doomforge already said


this is horrible i say, i SERIOUSLY hope that Nival is gonna balance these skills before release. well luckily it's only June so they have plenty of time atleast

the incinerate has such a huge drool factor, I can't wait to see that in action!

A has anyone checked the abilities against the stats?

I must say, I think there is some sort of mistake in the Zombie info. It seems very unlikely that the decrease will work beyond the immediate surroundings of the Zombie. This is an aura after all. That will also make the ability very ballanced as I see it.

Elvin: maybe some of them aren't exactly precise, but that sharpshooter thing.. it can't be translated bad. Besides, no haven alternatives.. that means those imba renegades ^_^

Well, zealots are nothing compared to tier4 puppetmaster casters, tho ^_^

If it will be as it`s written about succubi you won`t need rest of army. just split succubi on 7 stacks and then seduce.... HORRIBLE I SAY !!!
