Hmmm not really, this depend on "How good player are you".
I've played H2 for... 2 years maybe... I'm not very sure right now, the game was actually very cool, better then H5 imo.
Every heroes game have privileges and demerits.
Heroes 1 was cool for it's time but low on possibilities.
Heroes 2 was great game with all of the new stuffs, but it was somehow... phlegmatic... (maybe not the right word)
Heroes 3 was and still is the greatest game, I can't find demerits, maybe the conflux?
Heroes 4 was cool but unfinished... so it was not perfect... I'll not say any demerits here... the game was unfinished 
Heroes 5 is good game, maybe better then H1 and 4 but it is phlegmatic for me it's not the same in the battles, the are not heroic like in H3, but phlegmatic. This is the game with the lowest amount of neutrals and it's unfinished too. H5 has all ot it's predecessors demerits...
Heroes 5 is not good game for 2007 it will be great in 2004 but for 2007... many are better.

Um, of course it is unfinished, they are releasing an expanison in fall.

For a strategy game in 2007, I would say Heroes V is the second best out there. The only thats gonna kick its ass is Starcraft 2!

Wow, high praise. However, there are competitors. Civ IV, Command and Conquer, etc. However, as far as I know, It's the best Turn Based strattegy.

and u call yourselves Homm fans? if u did that..then u should like everything about this game. I don't care that Homm 1 and 2 are old, or Homm 3 has a bad town (conflux - imo it isn't a bad town), or h4 isn't finished and most of u say that it is the worst, or homm 5 is too 3D and hasn't the homm spirit because it's made by ubisoft. I don't care all of these things, they are just not important. I love this game because it has magic spirit...with mythological creatures from different civilizations all in one. I say that none from homm series is a bad game. Of course..IMO

No we shouldn't. A true fan should be able to accept that the game has flaws, because it means we care enough to notice. I've never said these are bad (excluding H4) but there are problems in each game, but they are made up for by the incredible ness of other parts.

Necropolis in H3 also could be considered a bit broken, probably. But just imagine if they had the Inferno Level 6 alt upgrade for ToTE in H3.
It'd rip all those massive Skellie stacks apart.

Heroes of Might and Magic 5 is not the worst
Heroes: Quest for the Dragonbone staff is the worst.
Anyone who has played this has no right to ever complain about another HOMM game the rest of their lives.

LIsten up, heroes of might and magic v is perfect game.We got balans,who is much better than h3 .I find h3 stupid h4 is more cool than h3.For example-in the autumn heroes of might and magic five will be the first heroes game [and stradegy]that will have over 170 creatures .In h3 there was many races but the creatures aren't so many.Heroes of might and magic V ffffffffffffoooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no one probably read what i posted becuase i took it back so fast after putting 1.5 on, the only thing i hate about homm V is dungeon isnt like good old dungeon from H2 i liked so much and that the customer service and help on the game is so poor only after i put 1.5 on does everything finaly work properly itd be nice to of known that with out stuffing around all day trying to figure out whats wrong with it and how to fix it, although bad trait i picked up from my father it helps some times.

I think Heroes 5 is one of the best Heroes games ever.
But first place goes to Heroes 3.
My list:
1. Heroes 3+Expanisons
2. Heroes 2 and Heroes 5
10.000. Heroes 4. It sucked.

HIV was a good game (or would have been by the standards of 5 years before it was released), but it was not a Heroes game. The rules were just to different.

H5 is good game. If damage per hp ratio was not so hogh i would think of it as the best one.

Dragons as Gods? Dark Elves? Campaigns that have virtually no need for tactics or anything,and combining the h4 hero system with the previous ones just didn't work! Sure,I couldn't expect much from a company that made games like the Bard's Tale and who introduced in my beloved Heroes some elements from the game that I will never play: warcraft!!! This is not h5,this is a bad joke!! They haven't fooled me,noo! Feel free to delete my thread,it's a mere manifestation of my disappointment!Thank goodness I've got Heroes IV,III,II and I right here! This way I'll probably forget that there was ever a heroes 5!

It's not always necessary. Desktop Tower Defender is better than Goblin Commander, and it is 3D.

Okey i changed my list:
1. H3
2. H5
3. H4. althougt it sucked, it had some very few SUPER GOOD parts.
4. H2, sorry but i didnt like h2 at all...

i think HeroesV was very good, well not as good as III but still very good. Long map loading good storyline imo, expect in the last map when Zehir makes a portal and in next scene Isabel(Biara) and godric is in a church and talking
My favorite list:
1: HeroesIII(you know why)
2: HeroesV(good graphic, nice sound and controls. Missing the sleep/wake button )
3: HeroesIV(it was actualy good imo. i know many think it's bad, but think if this was the first Heroes game
