Inferno fits more my play style...I just wish they had one more shooter.  3 shooters out of 21 units stinks.

Inferno are good in offence, but academy have artificer which can chage the course of a battle instantly, especialy with armour crushing artifacts. so, Academy.

Academy. Because of the artefacts. Once the hero is able to pump 10% haste artefacts the inferno is toast.

A better ultimate?!
How can instant gating beat the knowledge of all spells?

I prefer Academy, on both looks and prestation in the game. I'm not saying Academy is better then Inferno, but I think it can adapt more easily on different kinds of situations.

Plus, I absolutely love the artifact ability!

True, gating can really annoy your shooters, but then again i still believe that the academy has a better ability than inferno.

Picking the right creature artefacts and combining them with the hero stats/artefacts plus the three shooters makes them the universal killing machine. They act first because of haster creature artefact, and from creature/hero artefacts and stats combo they can have the Haven morale and luck. So they start first, they act 50% faster and they have 50% chance to hit 2 times harder. Usually they kill the enemy shooters/caster at the first turn then then start to pick the heavy hitters at leaisure.

Believe me, effortlessly However a wizard can simply banish them if he is of high enough lvl.

No ultimate required just summoning->master of conjuration->banish. I don't think it's a good idea to pursue the ultimate with a wizard but it may pay off with a demonlord.

I know, I just responded to the Urgash's Call vs. Arcane Omniscience matter--I meant that if a wizard has his ultimate ability, he can effortlessly negate Demon Lord's ultimate by using Banish, which he must already have because it's a requirement for Arcane Omniscience.

Arcane Omniscience is not as great an ability as it might seem, simply because you miss out on all the Light and Dark Magic perks that grant you mass effect of the spells. Without those perks, most of the spells are not that usefull - Frenzy, Resurrection and Puppet Master not counting, but then I would rather go for Light and Dark.

Yeah, I agree. The only time I went for Arcane Omniscience was the Academy campaign, and it turned out to be less great than I had expected because the lack of mass spells. I tend to go for two or three magic skills with Academy - because magic is just more fun - and hunt down the necessary spells from Dragon Utopias, Vaults of the Mages and Libraries in Academy towns rather than waste my energy on the ultimate.
