ungratefull,corrupted admin
no. this thread is not about Val.val is a great person. i just wanted to talk about this stuff, and hope that people in here would listen and understand me. ok. im a mod of a private World of Warcraft server forum of Lithuania. they also have a Diablo2 LoD server,which has opened today. i decided to make a tutorial for people who are new to Diablo2(covering the basics ect)ok every user appreciated it,and said that is very good tutorial. i was even voted for best mod of the forum,but still i got banned. ok,sometimes lose my temper. that is understandable,being a mod is tough and you cannot be a good silent mod al the time. recently we discovered that one of our admins has a weight problem. we friendly joked around by that topic. we DIDN'T INSULT HIM AT ANY WAY. i mean everyone(ok maybe not everyone but still) sees the difference between insults and friendly jokes. me and a couple of other mods were banned because of few friendly jokes. wheres the thanx for our hard work? if it wasn't for us,that forum would be a spam bot club. im glad this forum isnt. when we wroted to his MSN he said this: take a break. that was it. I feel discriminated,and dont appreciated for my hard work. i have a very sick brother,he can be in a wheelchair for all his life,i'm getting married at saturday,and i have a ton of work,and still im finding time to look after that forum. and what thanx would i get? thats right a ban,thats what i get. i hope you guys understand me. thanx for listening oops...(  ) reading.

Not being "silent" and losing temper are 2 different things.

You should never make jokes about persons who are postioned higher than you. If you do that at work, you can be sure u will lose your job pretty soon!

If u read the CoC here, you will notice this text passage:

* An attitude of consideration and appreciation.
* Courteous regard for people's feelings, opinions and actions.
Making jokes about other's overweight lacks in respect, don't u think so?

An idea which often appears in such cases. Only because u did good things doesn't mean you are allowed to do bad things aswell.

This sounds a bit exaggerated. A ban should be the latest action, not the first. Not sure if u had any more problems with him in past time.

thanx for your opinion. i decided to play the waiting game. just heard that this guy just banned all the mods. lets see wha he does when the forum is flooded by spam bots.

Hmm the situation is a bit tricky and I don't know if you were friends or you even talked to him prior to that. While I would not take such an action I can understand if he is very sensitive about that subject or he is the typical power-hungry mod that bans just because he can. No matter how I might feel about that person you provoked him even in jest and he could ban you, unfair though it may be.
You are better off being discreet about some things just in case Especially with people in a higher position.

I don't think any of us can form an opinion based on what you said...We weren't there...But it's great that you share this with us.
Anyhow, you should be careful with jokes about people being overweight...Maybe the admin already had a lot of trouble with his/her weight. Especially on the net, you should watch out with those jokes...
Although, on the other hand, banning you might have been a bit harsh...

lol, just read that little part, I must have missed it.
You can't lose your temper while you are a moderator.
If you are an admin of a really big forum, let's take valeriy for an example.
If he was having a really tough time with rl, lost his job, gf, his car got demolished, and he is really really angry,m and he comes to the forum and starts abusing people and losing his temper, what kind of impression would he be giving?
He would quickly lose his adminship as well
Just cos you are a mod, does not mean you should lose your temper
that's all I gotta say, and hope you don't get banned again.
Hopefully you learnt a lesson from this.

How could he lose his adminship? Who'd take it from him? He'd probably lose a lot of HC members, though.
