Not to sound sexist but if I was to make a bet I'd put it on the Titanic furious Demon with a flaming axe, wings, skulls underneath him, ten horns needlepoint teeth, spikes jutting out of his armor..... as opposed to the petite pretty knight girl.

some lesbian ghosts arising out of a pond in the middle of a house infested by coral snakes in the middle of a desert city...am I missing something here, and did I miss a potentially AWESOME cutscene in the game?

Eh, that would be a beta version of the official map which no longer has any relevance since Nival scrapped it. Note that this is from back when Nival was planning to reintroduce story elements from the old Heroes games before Ubi mysteriously ordered them to scrap everything.
Places from Heroes III and IV such as "Tam AvLee" (Heroes III Rampart kingdom) and "Lost Palaedra" (Heroes IV Haven kingdom) can be seen, as well as "Kreegar" which is an obvious reference to the Kreegans of Eeofol and Nekross, who are not in Ashan's universe.
Not to mention that the general landscape is nothing like that of Heroes V's official map.

Is it only me, or does not the Nival sites work? I hope they not have gone bancruptsine i think their was improving in heroes making games. take for example Mytical: She thought the vanilla H5 was the worst HoMM game ever, but she loved TotE

Also that map... *sniff* UBISOFT!!!! What have they done, gah... For me that map could have been a connection between Axeoth and Ashan. In the Doom Sea there could be an island with a highly guarded portal to Axeoth. Man that map, shows off a huge potential which UBI ofcourse choked to death. Kreegar, Palaedra, Tam AvLee new territories for those from old AvLee etc in a new world, Ashan. Short said. Tam AvLee is like New York in our world but the name originated from York (AvLee) in England.
There are two moons shown too (or are doomstar the sun in this solar system?) but waht about the last one (or the two others?)
Also! Im unsure but is it allowed for me to post photos taken from my collectors edition artbook?

Maybe the map could be HoMM 6 map? Urgash could have summoned a huge meteor/earthquake and Ashan had been totally changed

Highly unlikely, that wouldn't explain the references to Heroes III and IV. If a meteor hit Ashan I'm sure it wouldn't have changed things that drastically.

Just as an idea Asha may create that portal in the middle of the doom sea, so the inhabitants of Ashan could get help from Axeoth. jus an idea
@Orfinn I am sure that you can do that. Ubisoft can't decline you to take photos of it. Many have done it (I and Fiur are someone). So post them if you want, i think

heres the other one + the present Yrbeth, why they in the name of Asha decided to use the most ugly sketch of her for the final Yrbeth is faaaar beyond me!
The different duchies. Top left Unicorn duchy (at the same area as Ygg Chall), Bottom left Greyhound duchy (the one Isabel are/were member of), Middle top Stag Duchy (Duncans duchy, the symbol placed beneath the icon of the dwarves capitol, Tor Myrdal), Middle griffin Duchy which are at top of the Capitol in the Holy Griffin Empire, Middle bottom Bull duchy, Top right Raven duchy, Bottom right Falcon duchy and last the far middle east Wolf duchy. I bet most of the nobles in Stonehelm are of that duchy.

This adventure structure screams Phoenix Dwelling! Notice the shape of the lava flow at the sides of the volcano. Neutral creature dwellings may have once been a suggestion for implementation (at least for the Phoenix), but as we have witnessed to this day...that got scrapped
