Orcs looked REALLY weird....
I think its interesting too see how the arts of the factions have changed. It seems that from the begining, the Sylvan elves was supposed to look more far east or asian. Perhaps the asian thing was changed to the Naga (if you look at the few naga concept arts that is out on the internet).
It also seems that Stronghold was more a beast town from the begining, like the Werewolf or that "orc/pit lord hybrid" etc.
( the werewolf was obviously supposed to be a Hell Hound hybrid?)
I think its sad we didnt get any Werewolves, "uncorrupted" pit lords and Trolls though ...
Trolls would have been excellent for Fortress instead of 6 dwarves and another dragon.
( just think of a Fortress with Valkyries, Norns, Giants. Jormundur, Fenris Worgs etc...)
edit: Necropolis also seemed to be more egyptian. *dreams of Sphinxes in HoMM6*

Well, the Troll, Warewolf and certain other images weren't really ment to be in any faction. The images made by Olivier Ledroit and Gwendal Le Mercier were mostly reference art (i.e. what would the main theme of a faction be). So the Warewolf was certainly not any kind of hybrid.
The Overlord (someone called it a Pit Lord) is a totally different story. You'll learn about it in proper time.
The main theme for the Elves was Celtic and Native American culture from the begining. Nothing changed about that. The asian style was meant for the Nagas. It should be quite obvious by now.

Okey I was totally wrong then >.>
It looks demonic, but it is not "fiery" and redish. Perhaps one of the original demon (over)lords.
I have no idea but I guess we will hear more about it once HoMM6 is announched (omg please - its about time now!!!!!!!).

Can you shred any light on what actually was the bussiness with the Nagas? Were they originally intended to be a faction for expansion, or were they scraped earlier in the process? And when they are mentioned in this "Myth Of Creation", is that something that goes back to Nival/Ubisoft, or is it simply a fake?

The new atworks are very nice, Dexter.
I know understand why do you say you already saw my pics. I didn't knew that Orfin uploaded the Art book. But those are photos, and I recently bought a scanner. I was thinking to scan all the pages and make a PDF book.
Anyone interested? Or my hard work will be in vain?
@Dexter: Am I allowed to do this? I don't want to break the copyright.

Alcibiades: Nor really much to say about them. All there is to it is that they started of as a creature for Academy, later were supposed to be a neutral unit, and ended up as a seperate faction.
As for the myth of creation, I'm not really sure. I'll try to ask here and there if it's made by the world coordinators. Though I assume they were.
Zamfir: Well, I don't think that posting scans is much different than posting photos, though still it's rather inappropriate. Though creating a .pdf file out of them might be stretching it a bit too far.
