I have read some forgotten realms books as well and I liked them. Well except for the baldur's gate trilogy, the first two books totally suck

I'm only going to judge the HoMM 5 dragons, since my memory is a bit sketchy about the others, and I didn't even play all games.
From worst to best:
-Necro Dragons: too weak, even though the Spectral Dragon actually looks kinda nice.
-Magma/Lava Dragons: I don't even really consider these dragons because they can't fly. There is no even a sign of wings, and they are elementals, unlike the other dragons. They are pretty slow for a tier 7.
-Shadow/Black Dragons: Well suited for Warlocks, especially against other Warlocks. Even with irresistible magic, they still take less damage from spells than any other creature, unless specific Immunities come into play.
-Green/Emerald Dragon: perhaps a bit weaker than the Black Dragon, but my favorites look-wise. Both could use some tweaks though. Green Dragons look great mostly, but their head is strange for a Dragon, and the Emerald Dragon needs some color variation.

Why? There are lots of wingless dragons in various mythologies and stories all over the world.
I'm not a fan of a wingless dragons, but I still consider them as dragons.

Mythology maybe, but as far as I know, every other dragon in the heroes series was a flyer, and the same applies to other fantasy word dragons like Warcraft (except for some Dragonkin, but they still have wings, and seem to be a growth phase where the body grows first and the wings develop afterwards)and Age of Magic (although the Draconian race has ground units, but they are more like halfdragons). This even includes every variation of Dragons like Drakes and Wyverns.
Even chinese dragons can fly, and they look completely different from those we usually picture.
Also, as I said, they are considered elementals, another first timer for a heroes "dragon".

There was a wingless dragon in Heroes 3 - a Crystal Dragon.

right, I actually wasn't sure if one of these special dragons from the expansion was a non-flyer. But he at least looks pretty much like the other dragons otherwise, except the lack of wings, and the idea was probably that a dragon consisting out of minerals was too heavy to fly. But enough offtopic.

Okay people I decided to put this up,
Heroes 1: Dragon 
Heroes 2: Nevar played.
Heroes 3: Golden Dragon thingy. (So golden!)
Heroes 4: Mega Dragon!
Heroes 5: Mkay I'm gonna put Spectral Dragon... Magma Dragon isn't a dragon... it's a dinosaur!

My favourites are:
Heroes I: Dragon (duh)
Heroes II: Red Dragon (looks better than the Black and Green ones, and a lot better than the Bone Dragon)
Heroes III: Gold Dragon (kind of reminds me of a Chinese Dragon, even though it has a more "europic" look)
Heroes IV: Fearie Dragon (looks great and I really like it that he can cast spells)
Heroes V: As for now it's the Emerald Dragon (amazing design, good in combat) but it may change to the Sapphire Dragon (not sure yet. I have to see the final model when the game is out)

to solve this problem,lets change their names to fire drake and magma drake. why nobody like wyverns/pao kais/poisonous wyverns?

Hmm yeah, I always heard flightless dragons are more called Wyrms. Still at least Magmas could not fly. Was a change at least. I think there is a few too many dragons in the game..might have to petition to get its name changed to Dragons of might and magic. Seriously though, any idea as to what the 7th tier of the Orcs is gonna be? I am hoping NOT another dragon, but it probably will be.

Sorry but Sheensher is right Wyerns are not Dragons. They are degenarte Dragons so they are not Dragons. And what Myth are you talking about? All Myth I know say they are degenerate Dragons (play Dark Messiah and you'll know)
