Quenya. I prefer it. It's diviner and more melodic. Plus it's a way of defiance to Tingol's decree which forbid the use of quenya in his realms.

Ted: Dominic means "of God", "of the Lord". So, Eneru or Enhir would be your name ("en" means "of"; "eru" means "god" and "hir" means "lord"). Whatever you prefer, though Eneru would be more fitting.

@Elvin:
Hm, cool. A bit new, but cool.

Nindyn vel'uss kyorl nind ratha thalra elghinn dal lil alust... Great proverb.

I like it, though it's a bit complicated. And I never really liked the DnD dark elves. I'm more into Warhammer ones myself.

Well I have a certain liking towards them. Baldur's gate 2 and nwn hordes of the underdark are some of the best games I have played and they were quite influenced by the presence of dark elves. Also I'm a Salvatore fan and occasionally do some reading. The dark elf trilogy was one of his good works.

This is going to be offtopic... But never mind, it's my thread after all.
If you're familiar with the french language, this site explains quite a lot. Or even better, Italian - www.naggaroth.org.
If not:

The Drow are 90% oriented on spells, underground mutants (like those spiderdudes) and stealth. And they are underground. Plus they live in city-states; beautiful on the outside but bloody on the inside, with families constantly at war with each other, clearly inpired by medieval Italy by the way.
The Druchii (WH dark elves) are more organized - they have a king:

His name is Malekith the Witch-King, and his mount is a black dragon.
His mother, Morathi, one of the greatest sorceresses and possibly one of the most beautiful women in the known world, is his mother and has HUGE influence over him.

There is a long (and great) story behind all that but you can google it if you're interested.
Unlike the Drow, who only have one religion - Lolth - the Druchii are split between worshippers of Khaine, the god of murder (which is their official religion) and the cultists of Slaanesh, one of the Chaos gods (led by Morathi, secretly).
Another difference is the environment - the Drow live underground, and despise sunlight. Kingdom of the Druchii, Naggaroth, is on the surface, on a barren continent much like USA, with lizardmen (representing probably Incas, Mayas and Aztecs) in the south and the Chaos wastes (Canada ) in the north. There are also huge cave networks beneath them, but they don't live them, they rarely use them at all. Due to swamps and jungles in the south, they have tamed many beasts such as Cold Ones:

Manticores:

Hydras:

and the Black Dragons (which didn't turn out too good in my opinion, here's Malekith on his mount for example) :

Last but not least, while they also have the best assassins and spies, they are extremely well trained in combat (and not just the agile blademaster sort, heavy armoured troops too). Here are some more pics, see for yourself:

etc. A very varied race, extremely fun to play, and rather wonderful looking, with awesome storyline on top of that.
I have their entire armybook in my head, every word...

Hope that was helpful

Yeah that should be enough for now Great artwork for one and well designed beasties. I'll agree with the black dragon Them being above, armoured fighting and the building looks make a clear difference.

Sorry for derailing the thread

hey Baklava, can you do mine, please? :-)

My name is Hayk, basically it means "Hay" ("Armenian"), but Hayk was also the first legendary king of Armenia and the most powerful pagan deity.

Maybe "first king" or "first god" or "mightiest god" or "father of all" might be an adequate translation to my name?

@ratmonky: I tried a lot of combinations, and Belegatar sounds best, "beleg" means "might, mighty" and "atar" means "father". That's the best I could get, in one word.
@Firgon: Hm... I found Onuvaeru... (Eru - God, Onuva - future tense of give) Which actually sounds rather good for a name with both a noun and a verb in it.
Hope you guys like them.
