I'm sorry, but I feel I need to address these two statements.
@ #1: Some people seem to take the COC as something that's only about which words you use. It's not. Whether you say "You're an idiot" or put it more subtly doesn't really make a difference. The problem is not the use of a specific word like here "idiot". The problem is with the message conveyed by the post. I've seen posts made apparantly without the eye for this distinction.
@ #2: There seems to be some assumption that just because someone launches at you with a post which might be worthy of a Penalty, that means you're allowed to do the same in return. Well, that's not really the case. If someone makes a personal attack, either ignore the person and let those assigned to that deal with it, or leave a remark stating your fealings about the case without delivering a counter attack.

You know, I have told her before, I'm sure, that refs have a hard time spotting the original infraction. You hear that during basketball games especially. And if I were to ever watch hockey, I'm sure I'd hear that a lot as well during broadcasts.
Soccer? I've never seen so much flopping in all my days. They all would make Vlade Divac proud.
So, the best way to avoid the whistle blown by the official is to throw the first elbow.
Right?
As for the lot of you worried that I might seriously call for your ban, ppbbtthh,  . As if I had that much pull. I, if you recall, was not elected Mr. Heroes Community. Second place never gets that kind of authority.

Moving along:
With regards to QP's in the OSM - it's been mentioned that there aren't enough. Which is mostly because you guys have been behaving so badly that you just don't deserve them *grin*
OK, seriously.. there have been some really good posts - I generally don't award too many QP's when threads are super active - unless they truly knock my socks off. That is in part because I find it tends to change the flow of the thread - people will tend to copy posts, or ideas behind posts that get QP's, or people(QP hunters)start posting contrived drivel in the thread to try to get some QP's of their own. That's just my thinking though
Plus I prefer to imagine that people are posting here because they love the conversation, not in hopes of getting some stars.
Of course, that can change if it's what people want.

It's a serious topic usually.
Many will know Shadey was right in the most part but also wrong in the parts that can make people mad at him.

But that's neither here nor there - is it?
Acu, I really tried to read all your post but it made my eyes swim a bit.
Alc and Angelito both want the same things I've been talking about - I don't know why you see them differently. I'm thrilled that Angelito has joined us here in the Otherside - and Alc does a great job here too. You don't know him as well, so you're reading him wrong.
As for the rest - I agree it wasn't so bad - but i think it was getting there, and I think it was overdue that we step in and do our jobs a little bit better.
Sure I said I was annoyed at reading the threads, its quite often extremely negative - and I found it draining to read through that ALL the time - but I didnt say I was leaving, I said I wanted to fix it.

Aculias > I think this sums up pretty much where we disagree. I still believe you can have a serious and even heated debate without the tone going ugly. Maybe that makes me belong in the kindergarten - time past certainly has leaned more towards your point of view, but I still believe that it's possible. Now the challenge will be to find the ballance that will work for all of us.

I admit sometimes it does get over heated.

lol, actually RSF had about 30 qps before he became a moderator, since Val didn't hand out any qps to him after he resigned in April.
