I've recoloured about two thirds of them but I just can't get them to work in-game.  I replaced the right files but I think the ambient lighting in the Inferno has an effect on the buildings which makes them look reddish.  Is there any reliable way to remove the lighting?

Probobally in the Inferno files, I'll look around a bit.  Or, if you know how, could someone email the Legends of the Ancients team?  They've done lighting stuff.

I'll work on the base first, then let you know about the Hero.

Is it possible to assign positions to effects?  I just have this idea of a Haven hero with an invisible head, and where it would be some kind of spell effect (Blue fire, Eldritch Shimmers, etc)

@Cepheus: The AmbientLight can be changed in the file Arenas/Towns/NewInferno/NewInferno.xdb (I'm not sure if that's the filename, but it's in that folder)
@Daystar: I need you to keep in mind that each circle has it's own model (Ghost Mode has some other circles too so you can use them to keep an original feeling.) I choose number 3.

It's easy to cut the head of a Knight you can find it in the Tutorial I have made

Unfortunatly I cannot tell you an effect by heart as I need to try out various effects to see wich one fits I'll do that asap.

For those with Effect editing experience I used the Effect of the Inferno Town Mage Guild and rezised it to Scale 0.2 the position is:
X 0
Y -0.2
Z 3

Thanks very much for the skydome info.  I accessed the right file but it was crowded with hundreds of different effects.  I simply don't have the patience to root through them all right now, maybe I'll try again later.

Is the skydome's appearance itself contained in the .xdbs or is it linked to specific texture files (blue sky and countryside for Haven, purple sky and mountains for Sylvan etc)?  If so could you kindly direct me some of these texture files, I want to prepare something appropriate for the Beginning Dimension.

Speaking of textures, I finished another terrain.  On the left you'll see the original, the Starfield, and on the right, Arcane Ground.  Water at the top Just so you know, they replace the 'Dirt' terrain sets for now, unless you can add new ones.

@Orfinn: Correct! It's indeed a Quest Guard, I'll try to use the texts of Heroes III to keep the right feel.

@Cepheus: You are really good at Tiling keep up the good work! About the huge file the skydome isn't in it it's in the AmbientLight tab you'll find the lights in the folder Lighs/_(AmbientLight) there are lots of iles there each light has its own Skydome that's just a Texture you can find it in the xdb file, be sure to copy the file in a h5m file or else the changes will be made for all lights using that Skydome.

About the new Tiles, that's easy just like a new Hero it's not an Advanced Mod (Wich requires a variable name as TOWN_INFERNO for example) it just requirs an AdvMapObjectTile file and I need to link it to the Editor in the MapFilters.xml file that's all you can even give it an Icon used by the Editor and a MiniMap colour. A new Tile can even be linked to the RMG.

@Daystar & Orfinn: If you make the tiles fully new there is no way to edit this that's all hard coded (Damn, why didn't they just put it in a RefTable) so it'll just have the Dirt Arena and pnalties. If the tile replaces Dirt the combat arena has the new Tiles, but the penalty is the same.

@Ted: I was hoping we could make Campaign Character with Godric's model wich still has his head Godric has an Animation to move his mouth so he can really speak.

Thanks! I'll talk you through it.

For the Starfield, I extracted one of the basic Dirt textures and opened it in Microsoft Picture It 2002.  I changed the colour from brown to deep blue, then decreased brightness and increased contrast, and added a finishing touch or two.

The Arcane Ground was based on an enlarged screenshot of the special Magic Plains terrain from Heroes IV.  I stretched the shot to work as a texture, changed some colours from grey to silver and simply applied it.  Turned out better than I hoped.

He he.. pretty simple actually it turned out great! I could clearly see the Heroes IV field were your Model I just didn't remember their name. Anyway Cepheus your my personal Hero for always wanting to help me with Texturing an ingame Hero should be named after you (Perhaps an Asylum Hero?) Cepheus is a good name for that

That's really very nice, I'm touched!  In fact I think all of us (involved in the project) should become heroes in ToK.  One (or two, maybe) for each faction!  I think there's room for that...
