For once, Blizzard is copying Heroes!

I'm serious.  I just found out about the new expansion for WOW, Wrath of the Lich King, and they is copying off of Heroes!

New Hero Classes: We've had hero classes since "A strategic quest" and they are only introducing them now?

Hero Class: Death Knight: straight outa Heroes III!

Northrend: A land of snow and ice (grimheim) populated by a viking like people.  (dwarves of HV) with giants (thanes) that hate everyone (the fortress in general)

Introduction of runes to poweryourself up: Where have I seen that?

No new races in WotLK, but new neutrals.  New races in Tote, but no new neuutrals.

And this I'm getting just from wikipedia.

Are you serious?

Death knight: On of the most cliche things I have ever heard.

Northrend is not new, it was known back in WC3 and the H5 fortress is not original either.

You have never heard of runes?

The neutrals comment is funny
In any case people are copying around but the trend is that wc should be copied because it is successful. Wc always introduces new things but hey it's an rpg and there is little room or rather imagination for innovation and originality.

Well, they have (possibly inadvertently) ripped off some aspects of the Heroes storyline before.  Arthas and Lord Haart bear some huge similarities.  The Lich King?  Gryphonheart comes to mind.  Medivh and Tarnum seem like the same person.  Archimonde reminds me a little of Lucifer Kreegan, Tichondrius of Xeron (though that's just me, I guess) and Jaina Proudmoore may well be Queen Catherine's twin.  Furion and Illidan Stormrage practically stink of Archibald and Roland Ironfist.  Kel'Thuzad's voice is strikingly similar to Sandro's as heard The Shadow of Death.  Evil swords with ominous voices such as Frostmourne?  (cough*Armageddon's Blade*cough)  Pardon me.  And interdimensional portals to distant worlds?  Thank you, but we've had those since Might and Magic II (though these are hardly original, I suppose).

well, that makes all the games really simillar...
c'mon blizzard would never copy heroes that stuff u guyz talk about are in like all games, the characters dun matter only the story line does and blizzard would never copy anything from heroes' story line since blizzard's stories are the best in the world for sure,c'mon guyz the copying stuff are just in ur imaginiation (no offence)

edit:
and about the runes,if anything HoF would be the one that copied it since frozen throne already intrudeced runes into warcraft but i won't say that HoF actually coppied it since runes are really famous...

A) this info is very old, since Warcraft three, arthas was a death knight

B) WoW is a horrible, hoorible abuse of blizzards intelegence. I hate it , and they've changed everything - the undead are good, the dranei are blue, wizards do dark magic, warlocks do summoning, fighters are tanks, pallys are useless and rogues are the best "DPS", which is a bad enough concept in it self.

I just HATE wow, it is filled with noobs who disgrace the nerd way and corrupt 1337.

Dude, Death Knights were part of WC since WarCraft TWO. So no, it was HOMM that copied off WC there.

I'm pretty sure WC copied them (Death Knights) off D&D, given they've been there since uh...1970something.

every fantasy game is more or less based on something, it's not copying.

Wha...? You're all friggin' paranoids... >.<

No game copies something...If they'd really do that, they'd get serious problems. So stop complaining about HOMM copieing Warcraft, and vice versa...I hate WC by the way. No offence. Same goes for D&D. I mean, honestly, there aren't that many fantasy concepts and ideas, so if some - or a lot - are the same, does that even matter? I barely see the connection between Warcraft and HOMM, a turn-based strategy game. You don't see authors complaining about how somebody else 'copied' they're ideas? And they'd have more reason to, because you can't litteraly see the difference between the two books, can you?

If you're still not convinced, let's look at it from your point of view:
Heroes copied from Warcraft (or vice-versa, whatever you say)
HOMM or WC copied from D&D.
D&D copied from fantasy books. (Well, there were books before there were games, right?
Fantasy books are based on myths, and worked out by the author's fantasy. (That's why they're called 'fantasy' books)
Myths were sometimes based on facts, imagination, or a bit of both.
Since it's impossible to copy facts or imagination, the whole chain is impossible.

Thank you very much.

Well, we have to talk about something before Tribes of the East comes out.  Paranoid or not, as long as we're discussing something, that's good with me.  Otherwise we'd just be acting like vegetables.

Do you guys have any idea how much HoMM stole from D&D? Especially HoMM III. And Northrend has been around since WC3.

Teldrassil- Oh maybe, YGGDRASIL! The name is even almost the same. No the world tree concept is as old as Celtic lore. Kinda becasue, ya know it is Celtic lore.

No they have shared roots, not one copied off of the other.

Just like things as 'night elves', 'death knights', and most of the other things that you are complaining about...
Except that it's not all celtic lore...just a different lore.

Did you guys notice this:

Sandro is extremely similar to Teldrassil! Look at this:

An anagram of Teldrassil is Sadrlliets. If you put 'lliets' out and instead put 'n' between 'a' and 'd' and an 'o' at the end, you will get 'Sandro'
And not only that. Teldrassil is a tree, right? And Sandro is a necromancer, so he's into dead stuff. Trees can die too, and become dead.
Also, Sandro was a wizard once, that means he had a staff - made of wood. Teldrassil is also made of wood! A coincidence?

And I think it's quite obvious that Celts copied their mythology from Warcraft.

lol
