Oh Sweet Mother Of God!
I had no idea! Damn you, Nival! Poor Blizzard!

And how about those filthy Nores, ripping off Dungeons and Dragons like that?

I don't recall Sandro having ever been a Wizard... you probably meant Warlock, their evil counterparts.

Did you guys notice this:

Sandro is extremely similar to Teldrassil! Look at this:

An anagram of Teldrassil is Sadrlliets. If you put 'lliets' out and instead put 'n' between 'a' and 'd' and an 'o' at the end, you will get 'Sandro'
And not only that. Teldrassil is a tree, right? And Sandro is a necromancer, so he's into dead stuff. Trees can die too, and become dead.
Also, Sandro was a wizard once, that means he had a staff - made of wood. Teldrassil is also made of wood! A coincidence?

And I think it's quite obvious that Celts copied their mythology from Warcraft.

lol

Sandro and Teldrassil? A tree?

No, he was, before he became a Necromancer...You know, before he was undead and all...

And Kronos, you weren't taking this serious, right?

In Shadow of death it was mentioned that Sandro was a student of Ethric with Jeddite. I recall Ethric was a warlock too unless he abandoned wizardry after that.

But he was a Warlock in Heroes I, and his backstory in The Shadow of Death confirms this.  There's no mention of him ever having been a Wizard, except when he pretended to be a Wizard's apprentice to get himself some unstoppable merchandise.

Btw, that Sandro/Tree picture rocks.

....

Teldrassil is namned from the second world tree in the warcraft lore namned nodrassil.

Drassil in Darnassian (night elf language) means crown.
Nordrassil means something like Crown of the Earth or something like that.
But Nodrassil was later destroyed by an evil demon lord namned Archimonde.
So the night elf, against one of their leaders, started to create a new world tree, a larger one.
There old forests was burned town so they builded their capital and some townes on the top of the giant tree.

Nodrassil/Teldrassil/World Trees comes from norse mythology. They also had an world tree namned Yggdrassil.

Teldrassil has nothing with necromancers to do, but it is cursed and corrupted but cannot die.
Teldrassil was not blessed by the dragons so there are a lot of demons/crazy bear-men called furbolgs their.

An infact, Nodrassil isnt dead either, but its energys are all gone and the night elfs sacrificed their immortality to save the world from chaos and demons.

Teldrassil concept art from the World of Warcraft Movie.

Note that teldrassil in-game only have towns in the teldrassils crown.

Oh, great.  Nice information.  Thank you.

In fact, there was a World Tree in Heroes almost four years before Blizzard came along with Warcraft III.  It appeared in Heroes Chronicles: The World Tree.  An evil demigod named Vorr came along with plans to destroy it, aided by Necromancers, but was thwarted in the end by an immortal.  What a coincidence.

Get a load of it here.

I dont know when the warcraft book War of the Ancients came out but it was before warcraft 3 and there was an world tree in it (i dont remember the name on it´but it was not nodrassil).

Oh and the tree was created because an archdruid namned Fandral wanted his immortality back ;P

But maybe your right, the undead did aid the demons.
The demons created the Lich King aka the undead king and the lich king spread a plauge through the lands (with the help of the demons) to turn humans into the undead.

But the undead aka Scourge has betrayded their demons and almost exterminated humans, or turned them into the undead.
In next wow expanision you go to northrend to kill the Lich King and destory the undead (the Scourge have an hugeeeee amount of undead+other evil, corrupted creaturs).

there is going to be real actors in teh warcraft movie.
But monsters like dragons, naga etc will hopefully by animated.

But its really sad i think because blizzard does great animtated cinematics for their games (just look at wc3 ending).

Zomg, I know.

My internet has been down for the last few days, it is so fun to see where this has gone!

Also, you're right, the norse mythology is all copied from D&D.

More like it has inspired them Greek Gods are in D&D too - it's a combination of modern myths with old legends from various countries. Some of its concepts and units were new when they first appeared.
