Right now the Ancients have no connection with the world of Ashan. Don't mix up the Homm 1-4 worlds with the Homm 5 world of Ashan.

Heehe so basically the usuall "world-at-the-brink-of-destruction" scenario but then suddenly the good guys save everything.
No seriously I would actually be really happy if nothing of the previous series elements (cyborgs, freaky high-tech ancients, demon insects a.k.a. Kreegans) I like it the way it is now. And about Genys theroy... I hope it won't turn out that way because then we would end up with cyborgs etc. I guess i can understand fans of the old series who want that very original story back but for my taste it is just too much.

I like the world as it is and we cannot expect them to create a new universe - they have invested in this one and it came out pretty nicely. I don't know if I'd like Sareth to be still alive but I'd sure like to hear a few rumours or lore about the previous events. Even if Kha-Beleth was freed it would be interesting to run a campaign to destroy/imprison him again but I think I'd prefer the factions' kingdoms not to be destroyed when the storyline begins.
I'd like some elements from previous games such as we have in legends of the ancients but the plot should not depend on them.
And while they are at it I'd expect a better storyline than the one in H5

The world of Ashan is very nice; no need to change it. (I agree with Elvin on this one)
The producers mentioned something about the awakening of Asha in the future, that's why I said it.
Three more factions to make it 11 as it was announced.
War is essential because without it there are no heroes.
Maybe the new levels of Dark Messiah Elements will give hints about the future.
Blind Brothers; Dragonknights; Free Cities of the East; Nagas and many more shall be unveiled...(this century)

Blindbrothers + Dragon knights, and No Free city unless there are more of other races (we have 3 human factions already) Nagas yes.
I disagree about "If there was no war, there would be no heroes." You can have heroes with no war, for instance, if a person shows a bit of kindness to a poor old widow by bringing her food out of the goodness of her heart, couldn't that person be described as a hero?

No.
A hero is usually someone who endangers himself in order to help others, so war or other extreme situation must take place for heroes to appear.

The intro movie could feature a peaceful naga town in a lagoon, waves smoothly splashing onto the walls of the roman influenced buildings (which are in shallow waters), watersnakes doing their everyday work, when suddenly the serene atmosphere is destroyed by an angry demon army closing in, battle rages on, few survivors, and than an emissary is sent to seek help from the other kingdoms of Ashan.

I like the new world, what the old worlds lack is its genesis, the old worlds's genesis is too clouded, but the new world has a very good genesis.
I agree with watcher83 vision. I'm sure HoMM 6 will feature dragon knight as asha awakens, so do urgash.
Maybe the uber lv 10 dragons will return.
I don't mind seeing high tech things, as long as there is uber mythical thing to balance it (examples: final fantasy summons are more powerful than final fantasy most powerful technological weapons)
