I personally think having half-elves makes sense: after all, we've only seen about two half-elves in the Heroes games (there might be more in the Might and Magic games, I don't know), Gelu (HoMM III) and Snowjay (HoMM IV). It occurred to me: why aren't there more half-elves?

But we'd have to see what other people suggest before coming to a conclusion.

Please note all i wrote here is subject to change and isnt really done yet Btw. any constructive critiscism would be nice (as long as its not too harsh. i dont want a 200 line essay on how i can improve the faction)

The sea elves are a recent (Modern) race.The dragon of water(shallasa)becoming jealous of the dragon of shadow made a pact with a large ship of elves. The ship decided to accept. The elves were to be transformed into Amphibian elves into exchange for the wisdom of the dragon of water.
These elves steadily expanded into the sea into the less populated areas ,for they were largely peaceful,
these elves created cities on the water made of driftwood, since they couldnt bear being underwater forever(being used to being normal elves previously)
They were largely oblivious to the events happening around them but when they heard demons were invading they decided theyd better be prepared if it comes to them.

756 YSD. Death of Vaniel Vaniel is succeeded by king Alaron, whose eye is turned outward from the forest. Slowly, he re-establishes stronger contacts with the other races.
Alaron provided aid to the Wizards of the Silver Cities in their wars against the Necromancers, and encouraged traders to come to the elven borders.

765 YSD: Creation of the Sea elves. Shallasa struck a bargain with the sea elves in exchange for her wisdom and favor. Aflectis the leader of the expidition is chosen as the leader of this new race

771 YSD. Foundation of the Silver League Survivors of the Seven Cities establish the Silver League (the second kingdom of Magic) in the lands to the south. Necromancers flee east to the haunted valley of Heresh.

772 YSD:Creation of the first city of the sea elves and their capital (hydropolis) Minor relations with the various other undersea races begin (naga, Giant turtles Undersea werewolves(not really) etc

779 YSD:Small search parties go after new recruits for the race, search parties are sent along coasts nearest to elven forests and along major routes

813 - 822 YSD. War of the Broken Staff The Necromancers attempt to crush the newborn Silver League but the Wizards gain the upper hand and invade Heresh. The Necromancers are utterly defeated and their kingdom shattered.

843 YSD. 4th Eclipse - Falcon’s Last Flight A Total eclipse. This time, the Demons storm the capital of the Falcon Empire and massacre the royal house. As soon as the Demons are repelled, fighting breaks out as the various noble houses attempt to claim the throne. Duke Ivan of Griffin conquers the bloody crown. The Empire is renamed the ‘Holy Griffin Empire’.

876 YSD: The sea elves expand and more recruits are added to their ranks. All the other races take a cautious approach to them

894 YSD:Minor emissaries sent to other "surface dwelling races(bar fortress) Minor and relatively ignored contact established with the non-hostile factions (Haven,syvlan,Acedemy but to a small degree. especially with acedemy with all the desert) other factions disliked

951 YSD: The sea elves hear of the War of The Gray Alliance taking place decide it unwise to venture into the underworld

951 YSD. 5th Eclipse - War of the Gray Alliance Demon armies are confronted by a combined force of Haven Knights allied with two other factions. Emperor Alexei Griffin pursues the Demons into the very underworld, and is killed. His soul is rescued by a mysterious and legendary knight known as Tieru, and bound up in an artifact called the Heart of the Griffin. Alexei's son Nicolai, aged 6, ascends the Imperial throne.
Alaron leads the Elven armies out of the forest to join the Haven Knights and the Wizards of the Silver-cities in the ill-fated Gray Alliance. The Demon horde is finally defeated, but at a terrible cost for the Alliance.
 
969 YSD. 6th Eclipse - Queen Isabel's War An eclipse not forecast on any calendar grips the Empire in a panic. The Demons emerge in force and march towards Haven's capital. This war will be known as Queen Isabel's War and is the topic of Heroes V's campaign.  

970 YSD: The sea elves decide to finally take action and decide to prepare for war against the demons lest they be attacked later on as well


City: Undersea refuge
Colors:  Deep Blue
Worship:Shallasa, The dragon of water
Belief- Watch and observe, for only when you are truly needed is the best time to act , or not at all
Place they live: Oceans (dont know any mentioned in ashan..)
Capital: Hydropolis (Bit of a cliche but i got bored..)
Holy places-Undersea shrines

Relations with other factions -
Dark elves- not liked much, not openly hated but generally their teachings do not agree that any of them deserve to exist.
Syvlan elves- Thought to be wise , but surprised that they dont all go undersea considering how all their beliefs and actions are peaceful
Haven- very good relations (Few, but many relatively)much liked for their adabtability and versatility that most elves lack
Fortress- hardly known of
Acedemy- as both are generally good enchanters they get along well when a rare meeting happens
Necropolis- Hated beyond belief. no actions taken against them but some elves are very willing to try
Inferno - also hated. Considered to be just acting out what they were made to do by urgash (destroy the world) but still disliked and they consider they should be given no mercy

(this faction is going to be a defensive shooter based)
Tier 1
Niaad(i think its called?)These creatures have always sided with the elves in times of war and are very helpful to them
attack 3 defense 4 damage 1-2 speed 6 initiative 9 HP 4 growth 12 ability water down(ok i couldnt think of a better name)reduces speed of the attacked unit by 2

Warrior-niaad:warrior niiads trained to hold spears. these can be thrown as an enemy is near
attack 4 defense 4 damage 2-4 speed 5 initiative 10 hp 8 ailities water down and spear throw (as an enemy approaches or you approach it a spear can be thrown for half damage . thrown when an enemy enters a 4 tile radius of the unit and can only be used once)

Niiad Water-mage:these beings focus on the element of water and can use it to throw water bolts from their hands.
attack 6 defense 2 damage 1-3 speed 4 initiative 10 HP 4 abilites-shooter and water down
tier 2
Water spirit-offspring of water elementals these elementals have the potential to create temperory walls of water when they walk
attack 8 defense 5 damage 3-4 speed 5 initiative 7 HP 9 growth 7 abilites -Water wall (where this unit walks appears a wall of water that does 2 damage per spirit when an enemy unit walks inside . when it steps inside the wall disappears after dealing damage)

Depth spirit-childs of both dark elementals and water these icy beings can be summoned by the water elves
attack 7 defense 10 damage 5-5 speed 4 initiatve 6 HP 12 abilites Ice wall. where this unit walks a ice wall is created that must be attacked to destroy it (3HP wall xdepth spirit)unlimited retaliation

steam spirit- when the rare mating of both fire and water elemental take place their young are steam spirits which can cloud the sigh of enemies. attack 10 defense 6 damage 3-7 speed 6 initiative 9 HP 7 abilities : smoke screen every ranged unit within 2 tiles of this unit has its ranged damage reduced by 20%
tier 3
sea-elf conscript. those who wish to become sea elves become sea elf conscripts and fight for them until they can be transofmred.
attack 10 defense 6 damage 4-7 speed 7 initiative 11 HP 13 growth 6
abilities- Eagerness (negative morale effects dont affect them)and offensive position (+5% to attack every turn this unit defends capped at 15%)

Half sea-elf the process of creating a sea elf usually involved drowning the elf, but if the elf breathes  air in the middle of the process he becomes a half sea-elf

attack 8 defense 5 damage 6-8 speed 7 initiative 7 HP 15 ability ffensive stance (+25% attack when standing still) choke-if this unit moves (not including attack but including moving and attacking)for 3 consecutive turns its speed is reduced to 0 for one turn

sea-elf spearmen:where the process succeeds these fresh troops are brough to the battlefield bur lack experience
attack 7 defense 7 damage 4-9 speed 5 iniative 8 HP 16 abilities-spear thrust-can attack from two tiles away spear-wall, any unit attacking from more then 8 tiles away takes retaliation when it gets next to the spearmen and then attacks(no retaliation afterwards)
tier 4
sea-elf crossbowmen- using waterproof arrows and crossbows these units are dangerous sea elf archers
attack 12 defense 9 damage 3-7 speed 3 iniative 10 HP 20 growth 4 abilities: no range penalty and double shot

sea-elf sharpshooter-using specially enchanted bows to both shoot in water and outside it their arrows can penetrate armor
attack 13 defense 7 damage 6-14 speed 3 iniative 9 HP 18 abilities-30% defense ignore Halfed at full range ,no range penalty

sea elf priest with the pact with the dragon of water the sea elves were more active in worship then the their normal elf cousins.
attack 12 defense 12 damage 7-15 speed 3 iniative 10 HP 23 abilities caster-(haste and phantom forces) water aura-aura around the unit generates water which boosts the damage of all sea elf units by 5% in a 3 tile radius (including enemies!)
tier 5
enchanted rocks-rocks specially enchanted to take form and to attack the enemy
attack 15 defense 14 damage 10-18 speed 4 iniative 7 HP 35 growth 3 abilities -throw rock,throws rock once for full damage 3x3 radius
and throw unit 50% magic resistance (moves to target unit in walking radius and throws him back 2 tiles)

Enchanted boulders-boulders are added to this already sturdy creatur to serve as more armor
attack 15 defense 18 damage 12-18 speed 4 iniative 9 HP 50
abilites- throw rock,throw unit and armoured 50% magic resistance

Enchanted eroded boulders- the aged enchantments on these rocks have driven them mad. they will stop at nothing to attack the enemy
attack 19 defense 14 damage 12-20 speed 6 initative 10 HP 40
abilities-enraged and berserker rage 50% magic resistance  (same as berserker)
tier 6
sea-elf enchantress- The Highly gifted sorcerers of the sea elves learn magic to devestate their enemies
attack 18 defense 14 damage 14-24 speed 6 iniative 12 HP 60 growth 2 caster (expert ice bolt expert slow and basic chain lightning)

sea elf summoner - Sea-elves with this talent are rare but highly valued when found
attack 19 defense 15 damage 16-26 speed 5 initative 12 caster (phantom forces and summon elementals)

sea elf water-mage - mages that specialize in shooting water from their hands they have powerful ranged attacks
attack 23 defense 18 damage 20-29 speed 4 initative 11 abilites- shooter and summon depth spirit (3 per mage)
tier 7
Water Collosus- awesome beings of water enchanted to life these huge embodiment of water is created only in times of dire need
attack 26 defense 26 damage 30-40 speed 6 initiative 9 abilities -stomp (1.3x attacks on small units) and drown (unit attacked cant move next turn (but can attack)

Water Titan - Collosi that have learned to utilize water in ranged attacks
29 defense 31 attack 40-55 damage speed 7 iniative 10 abilites-shooter,caster (Ice bolt on a theoretical higher level then expert)

Ice Titan -Freezing beings that are solid, created when a water colluses is exposed to immense cold
34 defense 28 attack 50-50 damage speed 8 iniative 11 abilites , stomp and freeze (enemy is set back 0.2 on the ATB bar)

Heroes- Heroes are knowlege/attack freaks and use summoning and light school (yeah i know same as wizards)
New perks- in leadership transform-every syvlan unit that joins you is transformed to a sea elf unit of its respective level

in attack -wave attack -hero gains ability to attack every enemy unit on the battlefield for 70 damage +20 xknowledge

In light -ice resistance- only 50% damage taken from all ice spells and water based attacks Requites Master of abjuration, Water warriors

in dark - dark transformation -every creature joining you is cursed and becomes a naiaad requites master of pain

in summoning- Water warriors- every elemental summoned is water elemental and increases amount summoned by 40% requites master of conjuration ,

Shallasas favor - increases amount of spirits summoned by racial ability by 5% requites water warriors

Logistics - Clouding wave, for the first turn of combat all units are stealthed but ranged ones cannot attack requitres Pathfinding

Racial ability-guardians of Shallasa each unit gains the ability to summon extra water spirits that attack with it at the start of combat basic= 3% of total stack HP advanced 7% expert 10% Ultimate 15% and the number of spirits cannot exceed the number of units in stack basic damage 2-4 advanced 3-5 expert 5-6 ultimate 8-8 (per water elemental)

Heroes- I might add a few filler heroes for tiers 1-3 attack/defense boost but overall not really important id think

Elucia- Elucia is a fighter trained in the arts of light magic, always loving this branch of magic she specialized in it and a mix of the warrior arts. Believing the perfect balance to a offensive assault on enemies and quick defense is needed she decided to master the teleport spell
Special -Teleporter hero starts with teleport ability and increases attack and defense by 2 for every 4 hero levels for a teleported unit for 3 turns can also teleport inside castle walls at level 15
starts with Light magic -master of abjuration ,logistics

Imberis- A hero dedicated to fire and flame he changes nearly every spell he can cast to have the very essence of fire in it .Considered an outcast for even considering such a thing he is shunned outside times of war. While interested in every spell the destructive side of magic can offer he also enjoys adding fire to it.
special-Flame Lighter every spell cast has a fireball affect added to it (70 damage +25xSp)
starts with -destructive magic, master of fire , attack

Warpius- A summoner of vast power who does much for helping others, while normally a teacher when war appears he doesnt hesitate to help others cast.. and to do so himself
For every sea elf summoner/water mage 3 random elementals are summoned. hero has spellpower for summon elementals increased by 1 every 2 levels

September 10th isn't nearly long enough for me, but then I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I'll just have to work fast.  A reasonable date.

And... uh... what's the Requium?    Some sort of ultra-secret super mod that includes everything ever invented, such as the old Heroes storyline and Sea Elves?  Just out of curiosity.
