Another age old modding question?
I don't want to open up old wounds, but does anybody know specifically how to mod... Heroes' portraits, and what I mean is like adding new pictures to it.
I've tried every which way to get into the files to do it, but it's like... a wall of death to try. If anybody know's how or knows any tool that could allow me to edit portraits and/or other things, please by all means.

Well I've tried that, but I've still been unable to, res edit only goes so far, just to the point of extracting files, I've tried it, but with no desireable effect. I'll try again, but if anyone has further information, please don't hesitate.

Upload the portraits you want to add to the game here, tell me who you want to replace, and I'll implement them for you.

I don't know how to upload, so I think this is how this works, if you don't see the images... you'll have to specify how to upload, I'm sorry... I feel so noobish...

It's ok. Upload them to Photobucket.com, then copy and paste the URLs here and I'll be able to see them.

Ah, so you just want to bring back the original Queen Catherine! Why didn't you say so! Of course I can do that. I may manage it tonight but if not, come back tomorrow and it'll be done.

Okay, I'm done. The procedure is surprisingly easy. Download the portraits here. Then open the archive and extract both of them. Copy both .pcx files, and paste them straight into your Heroes III data directory along with H3bitmap, H3sprite and all those others. Then just play the game and take note of the changes.

Crud, it worked and yet it didn't worked. It's acknowledging the new picture, but it crashes on the map editor AHHHRGGH! It has to be the WOG mod, or something....
