Shyft places his hand on Problem Child and instantly they are outside the meeting place. Everybody on the outside headed in is now stareing at the two people. Somewhat because they just appeared out of nowhere, but that is not the only reason. Shyft now has long flowing red hair, and can not be mistaken for a male. She has her hand on Problem Child's shoulder, and to those who don't know better, it is almost as if they are arriving as a couple. Also, because Shyft has not yet found a costume that changes with him, the costume is a bit tight.
Things settled down in the meeting place, though it was obvious not everybody wanted to be here. One of the white clad people sat down and the other went to the center of all the people. Standing beside a nervous looking female this individual began to speak. "I am glad so many could make it. Those here would do well if they could spread the word once this meeting is over. We may all have our differences here, but we now have something in common. Something or somebody has been hunting down mutants." A holographic map of the world appears with hundreds of red dots on it.
"We all know about the odd dissapearences, and our friend Entropy there," points to the fish/squid/blob thing "putting a virus into the devices that was creating our food and fuel. All these red dots, however, is a mutant that has been killed. By what we have no idea. Whatever it is was almost able to take down both myself and the other Gemini. What is worse, neither of us saw a thing. However, one of our psychics has given us a hope. Stargazer, take it away."
The woman nervously switches places with the other person, and immediately begins to fumble things and stutter. Apparently she is not much for being the center of attention. Finally, however, she manages to start. "I had a vision recently. Some of you recieved special invitations to this meeting. Delivered by a grey girl. According to my vision, we need these people to solve this mystery. They will get paid well, have access to all three orginazation's support, and be concidered freelance. I want to stress that they can work independantly of each other also. After the meeting if they would see me outside, they will be given further information."
The other individual again takes over. "Also if anybody comes up with any information regarding the dissapearences there is a reward of twenty million dollars. This is payable only once the dissapearences stop for good. Any questions?"

"I have a question!" Shagrath snarled, and rose. "How well will we get paid if we work for you and we're not the one that kills the murder? And how do you expects any of us to be able to take down one that has almost killed two of the Gemini's, when they are much stronger than us?"
He sat down again, and waited for an answer.
"We don't expect you to be able to kill anyone, if you find out who it is, or anything that can lead us to this person it's enough." one of the white-robed ones said, "Besides, you are stronger than you think."

The seated Gemini chuckles "Besides, for those who sign up, you will make a guaranteed salary also. I might add that this ... thing doesn't seem to care what powers it's targets have. Anybody here might be it's next victim."
"I know the group selected has a better chance then even the founders of the other groups combined. My vision was specific. One, if not all, of the people who recieved my special invite will be able to stop this." this from Stargazer.
The thing that is Entropy laughs evilly. "Still don't know why I agreed to come. Less competition the better. We have a lot more of of the more powerful mutants with us. Let it come, we will destroy it, then take over this pathetic world."
A very quiet voice replies. "For all we know, you are behind this." the speaker is a small pale white girl with strawberry blond hair. She is 'hiding' behind a native american guy who looks like he may be part bear.
"If I was little one, you would be one of the first, and I don't think you'd die for awhile..." sneers Entropy. "There is much funner things to do to scared little girls."
The native american growls at his words, but Stargazer puts a hand on him and he just glares at Entropy. "Enough, we are under a truce...I think we should call the meeting to an end so we can get started."

So that's why we are here, to discover cause of these killings. I head out while everyone's eyes are fixed on the demon ranting. Most of the people don't even know I have been there. Sad. Outside I spot a shadowy corner suitable for my needs and retreat to the shadows to wait for the other's to come out.

That much money! Shagrath thought. He walked slowly out of the buildings, his hands were still knotted and he were still furious. But what he could earn in this were worth keeping rage inside, that much money! He stopped and sniffed, someone were hiding. He looked around, then set his hand on fire and searched the shadows and such. Someone were hiding, but he couldn't see the person. He frowned, why did he care? He went on, at least they cared of dead mutants and not humans, or else they would be hunting him.

At the beginning of the meeting
Problem Child sat down. He looked at Shyft who was sitting beside him. That was some weird mutant. However, she... he... whatever it was had some interesting powers. Maybe Problem Child could use them to get back home.
As he thought about all this, the man at the center started talking about mutants being killed all over the globe with no apparent reason. Problem Child focused on his words. This was so wrong, he looked at the red dots on the map, so many killed, gone forever. Such violence could not continue.
One of the mutants rose. "How well will we get paid if we work for you and we're not the one that kills the murder?...", he asked. Money. Problem Child sighed, his eyes filled with sadness. It seems that even in this futuristic, not long ago utopic world, money still had great control over people.
"Enough, we are under a truce...I think we should call the meeting to an end so we can get started."
Problem Child stood up and went towards the exit looking for that girl - Stargazer. He didn't care that he didn't receive a special invitation, he wouldn't let those senseless murders to continue.

And one more things that is bugging me. How on earth did it almost kill you without you seeing it? Too fast, invisible, it had aid..?'

Shagrath stopped, he were walking away from such a big amount of money... but he had never been afraid of dying before either; and now as the strongest of mutants had almost been killed he were afraid. It was a strange feeling, and he didn't like it. He breathed slowly, and turned around. Maybe he should join anyway, he could get a partner he could maybe sacrifice later. Or not, partners were good to have as backup if something went wrong. He walked back, and signed up for the hunt.

I saw a couple of mutants signing up for the research of these killings. Strangely enough the demon seemed to walk away from the Stargazer. It stopped and started to search the shadows but failed to find me. Apparently it had it's mind set on something else. Ah. It turned back and went to sign in. Maybe these killings had touched it somehow. I could do with a partner. The demon was surely strong but could it be trusted? That could be found out in time. I emerged from the shadows and went to sign up. "Care for a man to watch your back? I asked from the demon.

Each person who signs up recieves a Credit Card, a list of numbers (to be able to contact Mega, Coed, and rebel leaders for help/assistance/information) and where the last known attack on mutants was. They are given a badge (if needed), with full police powers and jurisdiction in any case. Also, they are given an address, sort of a base of operations but nobody is required to stay there or even visit if they do not want.
Meanwhile accross town..A young boy about 15 years of age is strolling through town. His name is Johnny Westin, and he is a mutant. His power is minor, he can make plants grow and return them to health. Hundreds of people watch as a missle appears from nowhere, striking the boy and killing him. A hum is heard from the air and windows shatter with no apparent reason.
In a military base in Indiana two soldiers march with purpose toward an atomic reactor. Nobody gives them a second glance, they have worked at the facility for years. Something is different about them tonight, they have been different since dissapearing several weeks ago. In the bright early morning, a glow is seen for miles around as a atomic device is detonated.
Elsewhere, ordinary citizens and mutants alike suddenly deviate from their normal routine. They take up arms and armorment, and begin to systematically take over the areas around them. All of them have one thing in common. They were the ones who dissapeared and returned.
In an undisclosed place a little meteor begins to glow a eerie red. It's time is growing closer. The seeds have been planted, harvest time will be soon.

"It was my codename in spec ops. I found it suited me since I tend to stay to the shadows and not get all familiar with everybody.", I answer. "Not many people speak Finnish these days so how come you knew what it means? Anyway I travel with this nice fella." Lumi walks to us from the shadows.
"That's a big dog you got.", he says.
"Not a dog, a wolf and I don't own it. It's more like a friend or a companion." A little surprise can be seen on Shagrath's face. "Don't worry. Just don't get overly familiar with it or show your teeth to it and you two will get along just fine."
"You mentioned something about spec ops. Any goodies from those times?", Shagrath asks eyes glowing.
"Well I've got something nice but nothing special. So how about it. Partners?"

The pale white girl with red hair and the native american come out and approach Stargazer. The male turns to the girl "Tenes ats, I beg you to reconsider. You are not a combatant, and there is the other to consider. I could not stand to see you hurt." (Note Tenes is supposed to have ^ over the e's)
"I may not be much of a fighter, but I can not sit by and let people die without trying to do something. People are getting hurt, and nobody is doing anything about it. Nothing you can say will change my mind." though determined her voice is almost a whisper.
"Ah my little tenes ats, you have gotten so big. If you are willing to sign up, how can I not. Am I not the bear? Strong and fierce? Father may disaprove, but we have faced worse have we not?"
"Brother, you are too much." the pale girl smiles. "You may be a bear, but you are a teddy bear. I knew you would sign up with me. The names of Rose and Bear will go down in history, though I don't look forward to our inevitable confrontation with father."

Mindreaver did not have to think about it much. 'Sign me up, I'm on to it as of right now.' He pocketed the credits, got the numbers and walked out. No time to rest, time is of the essence and there were information to be found.
A little later he was home accessing his private server - it had a program for recovering recent news from every possible broadcast. News of the boy made him wander.
'Why are they after mutants anyway? Also...a missile? They use military weapons or can they make on their own? I should check if any weapons were stolen lately and those numbers I got might just be what I need.'
'What else. An atomic reactor exploded in a military base. Maybe they are trying to neutralize possible threats? And people who had gone missing are behaving erratically. Yes I definitely need to make a call.'
He decided to call the MEGA headquarters to ask about missing missiles and suggest their keeping formerly missing people under surveilance. He knew they'd probably have thought as much but the call was also to check on what else MEGA might be thinking of the current situation.

Nobody has reported any missiles missing, but they will look into it. MEGA was caught with their preverbial pants down with the people that returned. All tests had come back normal, but these people deffinately are not acting right. They have mobilized units to stop the attacks, manning them with people who have not dissapeared. Anybody else who has dissapeared who has not yet acted up is being brought in for questioning.
Oddly enough the underground base that was destroyed was a R & D research lab also. It was making pestacides to help start growing food again. It is being looked into as to any other reason it might have been taken down. So far it is believed because it was a military base and also could provide energy because it had a reactor.
They may have a lead with the deaths..or maybe not. The windows shattered because of air concussion, as if by a jet or similar. They don't know what it means yet, but would explain the missiles also. On a cautionary note they do mention this is the first death attributed to mechanical means (the other mutants were killed by some sort of energy beam).
They ask is they can be of any assistance, and 'offer' to send a couple of squads to help you.

The cellphone Shagrath had just received started vibrating.
"What the..?" he said, dropping it to the ground.
"You are not used to technology?" Varjo asked, laughing.
"Well..." Shagrath said, he had always depended on his powers instead of technology.
"We are needed, some peoples are taking over parts of the cities. We must go and stop them." Varjo said.
"Hold on to me." Shagrath said, smiling.
He turned into a demon, Varjo backed off but Shagrath gave him a black look and he took a good grip in Shagrath's arm. Shagrath lifted from the ground, and started toward the chaos.

R&D...Maybe they had invented something else they did not want us to find out. Could it be a coincidence that the boy's powers were similar to what the research was trying to find out? And no I don't need help, I'm not even sure what my next action will be. I will be on the lookout, keep in touch.

"And much more exciting too.", he said and dived down nearly touching the street below.
When we got back up I saw the chaotic situation as a whole and made contact to M.E.G.A. "Authorisation of deadly force requested. Armed opposition. Acting seemingly on a gang level." It wouldn't be long till we arrived to the fight. Hopefully they would send an answer before that.

"But then we may get fired." Varjo said, "And think of all the money we lose then!"
Shagrath knew he said it only to keep him from doing anything, but it worked too.
"Well, we'll be there within a half hour. If they don't answer within that time then we will have to defend ourselves." Shagrath said.
