The Perfect Heroes 4

So many people are wishing for so many different things on this forum. Just posting here over the last few days has left me with an impression of mish-mashed hopes and dreams, most of which are brilliant and make any game developer proud.

Let's put down the pens and pencils for a moment and think. What do we really want out of Heroes 4?

It's about high time we started integrating all these threads of wishes together into a coherent overall picture.

Tell me, out of all the wishes that you've made and all the ones you've read about, which ones would you like to see in your 'Perfect Heroes of Might and Magic IV'?

*smile*

All I know about the game is good. But I want a much better AI than Heroes 3 - the Hard AI once made a mistake that most beginners could tell would be a very bad idea. Also, it'd be neat if you could set starting resources independent of the AI difficulty.

Something I'd like to see in HeroesIV is another way to gather resources except from mines.I think that when you kill some wandering creatures you should get a random number of resources of gold for every creature killed.

Yes. If 3do listened to all our ideas and complaints and suggestions, they would never get anywhere to creating  the "perfect game." I learned this when making a MOD (modification) for Unreal Tournament: you work until you sick, then work some more until you have gameplay that runs smoothly and does not get major complaints from your beta-testers. As long as the game has innovation and runs well, it will be good for me.
Sure, there are things that I don't like and disagree vehemently with (DRAGON GOLEM!!!! ) but I can live with that as long as the gameplay is good and the quality of graphics is high. For instance, I did not like the dragonfly in the Fortress town before HoMM 3 came out, but I soon learned to live with it and it is one of my favorite units for the fortress now! I don't really care much about it anymore, and I suppose most of you don't care about the big complaints you had about heroes 3 before it came out. Heroes IV will not be the ultimate game, but it will be a fun game that will give us many hours of gaming goodness.

To me, heroesIII was as close to perfect as it could get, how else could I stay entertained for 3 years, with just the occaisional foray into roleplaying games ( BG 1&2, Torment, Icewind Dale ). The only wish I have for heroesIV is a better random map generator. I couldnt care less about the AI, coz I never play against it. If I wanted the AI to play better anyway, I would set it to 160 or 200%, then u get a quite good AI.

I really just want more customizable options(creature stats, Hero specials, artifact properties, etc.) I also want a storyline that includes(guess who) Mutare!! Or, I could settle for an unbeatable Asylum lineup.

Yes. like, when you kill dendroids you get some wood, and when you kill the gold golem you get gold, etc'

Back to the topic though, I think that the game will not be perfect, but as RMS said " There's no such thing as perfect " (sorry if I quoted it wrong), but It'll be good, and if it won't - we'll get used to It and then it'll be nice .

the perfect homm4 -- some style is picked and strictly followed in creatures, landscape, buildings, etc. the style and colors of the creatures in the same town are in maximum harmony. all creatures make sense from the point of view of mythology.

the real homm4 -- a collage of styles.

and, no matter how long i have played homm3 or how useful the wolves and cerberi are, i still feel disappointment when i see their graphics on the battlefield, and i have played inferno quite a bit. and the same thing with imps.. i still like the homm3 imps.. well, they say preferences change with time, but somehow some preferences seem to persist.

What i would like to see in heroes 4 above is a game with very little bugs and errors.  Other than that i would like to see the game in fun and addictive play
