Wolfman and Khaelo were the yin and yang of The Other Side.
By the way. Whatever happened to ex-mods keeping their shield?

Quote: I've been here longer than you... I remember when the Other Side had more serious topics than not and more informed posters than not. Ah, the golden age of the Other Side. Hell, I remember when there was no Other Side and we debated in the Tavern. I also remember when I was a mod, probably one of the most unpopular mods in HC history too...oh well.
In my perception of the Other Side, its Golden Age was around the time when I first joined, and the next couple of years (roughly), when privatehudson, Wolfman, Khaelo, Peacemaker, The Gootch and a whole bunch of others were writing humungous posts or unrealistic quality.
Unfortunately, it had died down a bit by the time I became competent enough to participate, but it was still a fun place to hang around.
Anyway, commendable persistence, Mvass. Personally, the allure died a bit for me after Leo, Conan and Jebus left, but I still love this forum. After all, it was my first. (Which is probably the reason why my first hundred-odd posts were so horrendous. )

I think the Other Side is a lost cause now. Serious debate is gone from that forum now.

A lost cause? I think it's having a slow moment right now. And I Gave Up on Believing in God is always a good thread.

But that is just one thread.
i think he meant about alot of threads, not just one thread being posted into.
Or maybe he means about Politics and the War and everything.

The religion threads are so boring though. In the long time that I've been around here there has always been a thread on the topic and they always repeat the same arguments over and over again. The thread that is popular now is no different than the one that was popular 4 years ago.
The Other Side has seen better days.
Where's PH, we should get it going with some off the wall historical topic.

Eh No...
Wolfman PrivateHudson did not ever debate off-the-wall topics. That's why I loved him so much. He was actually a very specific poster. He almost entirely exclusive would post about historical battles. It was like having a historian to speak with in the most unlikely of historian hangouts. I always felt very fortunate that he would come here to post. I liked him a lot. I think he had a thing for Cat too. I think he kept in touch with her (or maybe followed her) after she left Heroes Community. I wish he would come back. He was so arrogant and would only post if he knew he was right, lol. It always gave me a laugh.

Well, Consis, I only meant that it was off the wall when we talked about some things when it was completely off topic. W brought "Attack Iraq" off-topic more times than I can remember. Such as when we were talking about the U.S. Civil War in a thread called "Attack Iraq".
I miss him too, and I wish he would come back. He was fun to talk to in real time over MSN too. I changed my MSN email now so i don't have anyone from HC on there anymore. And now it seems Peacemaker has left for a while, so I can't even get her back on there.

LoL
That is so true Wolfman! Hahahaha . . . The thread would be about something like "What is your favorite color?" And in he would fly confidently telling whomever how wrong they were about some king who fought in some 16th century battle or some such nonsense. I believe he was the first to master the art of Spam-Quotes:
Quote: wrong
Quote: unlikely
Quote: you wish
Quote: ignorant
Quote: childish
Some of his responses would have you scrolling through his continuous quoting for 2-3 minutes. LoL
Peacemaker is gone because of all the time she has devoted to pushing an Obama support fan-base in Colorado. I think she's finally found her calling in life.

Now, there isn't really that great of a difference in our HC ages. We should sieze our chance and take back HC! Forget our petty disagreements of the past! We can conquer again!
