More populated maps are easily abused with it, imagine +350 points per stack of neutral. The situation becomes worse when there are weeks that spawn neutrals on the map.

You can't see the exact number of Movement points. But at the start of every turn, you get 2500 Movement Points (without any modifiers, like Stables, etc)

When your hero moves a non-diagonal, he/she loses 100 Movement Points each tile.

When your hero moves a diagonal, he/she loses 141 Movement Points each tile.

Warpath just gives you 350 additional Movement Points after you kill a neutral stack - but that's it, it's only an instant effect, you won't have any bonuses the next turns.

Ah, that explained alot. I understand I dont have the extra movement points the next turn.
So I can only get the bonus for one killed creature stack every turn? Or can I kill one stack to get 350 points and kill another to gain another 350 points?

This skill seems useless. Anyhow, I would still pick it because of its "preskill".

And if you build a dwelling in a castle, can you recruit only one creature, or more of them? Think, people, think.

Of course you can get more points from multiple battle,s that's exactly why this skill is po powerful and allows you to move ininitely as long as there are enough nearby tacks to beat.

It works this way.  What everyone is trying to tell you is that it's a great skill.

It's an easy test in the map editor.  Set up two heroes, one in a path with no monsters, one with warpath in a path with monsters.  Move them both up the map toward the same point for 3 days and see who ends up where.

You get 350 Movement Points after you kill a stack, and immediately, not the next turn. You can gain multiple bonuses from Warpath in the same turn (if you battle multiple neutrals in the same turn) or none at all (if you don't fight in that turn).

It's EXACTLY like the Tattered Flag and other Map Objects that give you Movement Points

I just installed the original h5, been on ice for a while now
My question is: if i buy both the expansions, will i be able to play both dwarves and the stronghold in the same version?
I remember in heroes 3 you couldnt use both expansions at the same time, if you know what i mean.

Thankful for answers.

The expansions do not affect each other, however tote has all the factions along with the new changes. The only thing you get with HoF is the campains but other than that it's a poor investment. Also tote is standalone and does not require you to install H5 original.

To anyone that can provide me with help/answers...thanks in advance...

One of my questions has to do with the second scenario in the second campaign in Tribes of the East called "One Tribe, One Khan", how do you get off the island after having gotten the 'green' orc chieftain to ally with you when you're given the new objective of talking to the 'teal' orc cheiftain.

The teal stronghold is isolated by land as there is only a one-way portal connecting it to my lands and I can't sail to the teal area either.  You can't use the shipyard in the new stronghold you acquire from green as you get a message saying there are no workers to work the shipyard and I can't use the summon boat spell even though there is a shore line north of teal where it seems designed for summoning a boat.

Basically I'm stuck and I can't figure out what else I'm suppose to do to get to Teal's lands. Help!!

My other question was first posted in the troubleshooting thread but never really got answered and considering the quick responses on this thread, I figured there's no harm in asking it again.

Can one get Heroes of Might and Magic V and the Hammers of Fate expansion to both be installed and played on a Windows Vista PC, because they both say Windows 2000 and Windows XP only, whereas Tribes of the East says all three (2000, XP, Vista).

Again thanks to whoever can provide information.

You must go in the water! as deep as possible, and then use vessel of shalassa (summon boat spell), if in map are at least one free boat, then he will be summoned and you can use him, to swim be teal and beat him .

Well, your first problem seems odd. If you've conquered both of the mainland chieftans, then the Cyclops guarding the boatyard should join you, and you have Elven and Dark Elven Pirates in the north sea. You should be able to beat them with a sizeable army. But the Elven pirate focuses on luck a lot. So it may be useful to keep the Bloody one-eyes than their crushers. If you still can't get into the water, there shouldn't be any open boats, so you may have to restart the campaign.

As for your second question, I guess the only way to find out is install HoMMV and find out.

Thanks homm3megejas and sith_of_ziost,

I guess I didn't go deep enough off the shore to summon the boat.  I'll go see if that works.

That did work.  Apparently when I tried it the first time, I wasn't in the exact spot for the spell to work.

Thanks again homm3 and sith...

Anyone have advice on how to proceed in the final scenario of the campaign with the Orcs where you have Gotai as the main hero and you have to capture the city in the southeast corner as the main objective?

I've tried building up my forces for a couple of weeks and proceeding as quickly as possible to get to the castle before the forces get too large, but do to all the intervening neutral armies and the orange garrison you have to get through, the attrition rate gets too high.

I've tried building up my forces to a large amount but that allows orange to inevitably take over the majority of the map and build his forces up too far.

And why if the necromancers are suppose to be your allies now does the Teal player attack, apologize for attacking, and then get his butt kicked later.  It's like Teal is an annoying little gnat.

Can anyone offer some hints or a strategy?

Thanks...

Just got this game the other day and I must say that it is quite enjoyable to play. It isn't perfect, of course, but it is still good. I have had a few tries with the campaign and I am going alright with it. I have had a few games with multiplayer as well, and it was good.

I will probably be posting more in this forum in the near future, since I now actually have the game and can understand more of what you are talking about.

Hello!
I just registered because I need help with the game. (I wanted to create new topic but I can't - obvious reason)

Anyways, I recently got the HoMM V TotE and I find it a lot harder than HoMM3 (which I haven't played that much).

I'm having problems creeping neutrals and eventually beating the AI, so I'm asking which town do you recommend and could you give me some tips/hints, strategy ...?

Yes and each town depends on your play style.  Some people are great at say Academy, while others (like me) need serious help with it.  So, I suggest reading all the threads and making up your own mind. There is also luck that plays a factor.  Sometimes a major factor
