You have to stand at the farthest part of the shore (as closest as possible to the water) before summoning.

mission 5 of the barbarians campaign
any1 else noticed how the AI screws itself up when you are trying to get the town you have to get for main objetive?
i have seen some comments about the puppet master thing being hard,
but any1 seen how the AI casts frenzy on its own units?
the AI had all its units behind the castle wall, he tried PMing my centaurs but they resisted, and after that he PMed the big guys with 2h sword.
i guess ill explain how was the battle going to see if any1 can actually see a reason for this:
i was pretty much screwed with jus my ballista doing most of the dmg, my centaurs got downed really fast by the enemy archers/mages. i managed to get my cyclops inside the castle thro teh wall, he made some nice dmg but got downed pretty fast (i jus had about 25), ai used the image thingy on genies i think, and they got luck hit on my cyclops, and that was about it for em.
anyways, after that, while i was trying to get my other units inside
(my pmed guys didnt really bother me, i think the AI SKIPPED one turn on em, and the other turn the AI moved em onto the mines near the wall and they lost another turn) the AI casted frenzy on his own genies, or djins rather, and they pretty much did all the job for me while i helped with my ballista.
the AI jus kept casting frenzy on its own units like every turn even tho i had NO units at their side of the castle wall, so of course the frenzied guys jus had their own allied units to hit.
i thought about mayb some item or skill redirecting the spell but no, i checked the combat log and it didnt say any of that, i also was playing at heroic dif..

im not too sure how the ai works on homm5 (i jus played all the campaigns, no customs since the ai turns seem kinda slow to me)
but i havent seen as of yet (after doing whole homm5 and HOE campaing on heroic too) anything as stupid as that, ive also seem some other really stupid behavor, like their heros attacking my heros, with like nothing of army at all (at least compared to my hero), to just retreat as soon as the battle starts (they werent even surrounded or anything, and could get away from me with no chances on my side to catch him on the next few days).
is this just exclusive to this expansion or to that particular hero in teh campaign? (hopefuly its jus a campaign thing)
any1 seen that on customs or even in that very same battle?

thx in advance
sorry for typos and stuff, im not english

There's been plentiful discussions here regarding how stupid AI behaves. Have a read there.

As to the case you mentioned, it's possible if you have Silent Stalker so enemy hero with smaller troops approached you. I've never seen bizzare case like that Frenzy thing you described though.

Your English is fine  Welcome to the Community anyway.

2nd mission its one of the hardest ive played, i didnt have 2nd town by the time teal came (around 5ht week), he just attacked me at my town and lost.
make sure to build urself a capitol asap, that way u can get some money. also ive seen lots of ppl telling how to get the gold mine and the +bonux exp items.i never got the gold mine cuz those guys killed many of my units, it wasnt worth it imo. and as for the +exp items, id say sell em asap to make urself a capitol. i cant remember much else, but after uve killed teal, ur pretty much done with the map cuz other players wont attack u unless u get on a ship and therefore "activate" purple
i was at heroic btw

Bombur for teal, here is the only way I have found to beat him.  When you have cleared everything and are ready stay at the second town for a day.  Don't end your turn at that town or he might come earlier. Sometimes you have to go through the one way portal the elementals are guarding.  Sometimes you have to stay one night at your first town.  Anyhow, don't buy any creatures until he actually starts moving.  Try to wait till he actually goes through the one way portal.  Make sure your main has visited the stable also.

He will always have a greater number of troops then your main or so it seems.  No matter how many I bought or had he always had more, and always appeared as Hard on the difficulty scale.  So if your main (and town garrisons seem to count also) has only a few, quick hiring and sending with the secondary heroes should suffice.

As for your situation, here is something to try, mind you it may or may not work.  Keep just a bit ahead of him, he should chase you trying to catch you.  Keep buying creatures in your town, and then when you have enough, race your secondary to your main and then thrash him soundly.   Once the one teal hero is beat he will never come to your area again.

@5M0k1N
The items seem to carry over, so I would advise against selling the exp items.  Plus since Kujin starts with enlightenment that can mean 75% extra experience per fight (Unless my math is off).  Regardless it is a whole bunch of extra exp.  She can easily top off exp long before the map is done.  As for the gold mine protectors, yes they are difficult.  Split stack your shammies and slow them while rushing with your other creatures (besides centaurs) works wonders with them.
Using 3 stacks of shaman to slow/haste I was able to take them early week 2 on heroic with just a few losses.  Of course, if you get unlucky with the atb bar it can be very painful.

first time i tried 2nd mission teal came and really owned me so i came here to check if  there were any tricks. i read what u said about not hiring any creatures so that he would come with less army, but no matter what army i had, he always came with the same guys( he always had 15 evo cyclops and those 70 somethig wyverns).
about the items, yea the fact that they  will go over next scenario its what made me doubt about selling em, but i looked up and the next scenario u play with that hero its fairly easy so i didnt feel like i would be needing em later.
and about the mines i dont know how u do it cuz yea u can slow em all and haste some of ur units but they will always be able to shoot at ur army the first turn. unless u can reach em with melee in just 1 turn which i couldnt do. i guess luck and that skill that gives u 5 % magic resistance or something per point of luck could help, also mayb ballista could help i guess but that firewall they do always hurted me a lot :/

it sucked a lot, but i thought it was because of something particular with my own game since i havent seen any1 else commenting about it

Yeah, you take some losses.  Call of blood helps a lot with that, however.  Also, with my strategy as posted earlier you have a big jump on skills.  If you can get flaming arrows and ballista it is much easier against them.

I leave goblins out if I have any except a single stack of 1, Using and only have 4-5 stacks on the field, seperated as far from each other as possible, with the 1x1 units I also alternate between back and front position, so that fire wall can only hit 1 if they hit any with it.  Usually that will mean they will firewall the centaurs.  Remember they can only firewall 1x each.  So you will take the damage but just move the centaurs (ie don't attack if they are in the fire wall).  I know it doesn't make much sense, but trust me on that.  Meanwhile move your goblins up next to one, and attack the other with your warriors.  Once they have fire walled they will have to kill your goblin and warriors in order to shoot.  Slow with the shammies, then haste your warriors and centaurs.  Once no worries with fire wall, just start shooting with centaurs.

Since you usually will move them forward to get out of the firewall (moving sideways usually means more damage) the will probably be within full damage range.  Mop up and there ya have it.

Also on further testing it seems that teal starts moving about the same time every time.  Just coincidence about the stopping at a town.  Think 2nd month week 1 or 2.  About the army thing, don't know all I know is seems no matter how many I bought before he went through the portal he always had a superior army, but if they were unbought he had less.  Maybe just more coincidence.

You might have to sacrifice your secondary town, but just make sure to buy all the creatures from it into the first town (letting them come by caravan).  Use the one way and just keep feeding all you can buy to your main, selling resources if needed.  (and make sure to visit the rally flag/idol of fortune).  Your cyclops are your big advantage in this fight, skip wyverns to make sure you get them if you need.  (Also remember if by some miricle you can get them upgraded that you can pick up a few more upgraded by the shipyard) since after you get the second town the ones will join you.

Usually I will sell all but the set artifacts also for aditional cash.  (Including boots).  Like mentioned earlier you will probably loose a LOT of troops, but after there is no rush as long as you don't buy a ship.  You can resupply your army before facing purple.
The fight with teal is also why it is absolutely essential to get that gold mine.  1k a day makes a huge difference in what you can buy/upgrade/do.

Some small spoilers ahead.  Beware .

@ Bombur.  3rd mission is really really rough.  I advise taking the extra cash (you will absolutely need it, especially on the higher difficulties).  Build cash structures before anything, as you start out with a bunch of creature structures, and get about a full weeks worth of troops.  (Like having no fort, ect however).  First day, hire a secondary hero (pray for Haggash), upgrade, give the main the army.  Use the main to secure ore, and second to secure sawmill day 1.  Hire all the army you can (after building), but don't wait for them.  Since you want to take everything you can reach on the ore generator side, and you won't be able to reach back to the town before the caravans arrive.  Oh yeah, and make sure to hire any creatures available in your town also and give main that also.

Note : In a short time your creature generators start getting bombarded, but to get to the thing bombing them you have to get through a bunch of phoenix.  Save before had, once you know how they set themselves up, put something protect your centaurs and give them something that they can reach that they can attack besides those centaurs .

Kujin appears only in the academy campaign and it's better that you take the castle only if you see that the remaining forces are enough to take Alaric. In my game he went for the closest towns.

Oh btw you could try to finish the quest to get the 2k or so golems. They are to the east and will join after you give them some master gremlins. Then buy all golems from the other towns, upgrade and you have a good army that does not fear dark or divine vengeance
