actually, as far as heroes are concerned, there is only one Duncan, but the one in H5 was just a pretty faceless campaign hero. Besides, for all we know, he might have well escaped after losing to Markal. You fight Agrael like 3 times in the last haven campaign, and he's still alive and kicking afterwards. Which makes it somewhat weird that *your* campaign heroes are *never* allowed to retreat even if you have towns.

And what about the period of her honeymoon with Raelag, unaware that someone's in disguise at her throne? No strory whatsoever connecting the final moment of H5 (after she got rescued) with her being at Raelag's (unless I miss something).

But you know what, the more I read this thread, the more I'm unable to retaliate or shoot (I mean, confused). Duncan's dead, Freyda's lesbian... what the heck. Even if I just play/finish the original campaigns, it won't help

Hmm? I need to replay the necro campaign I guess? I didn't know Markal killed Duncan OR Freyda for that matter - Though I Remember that with Freyda being used to get Godrid to follow markal.. But Duncan? I first heard of him in HoF.

I just played the first and last part again .Markal says the supporters of Duncan, not Duncan himself the Hero you fight is called Glen and is a pushover. And yes Markal kills Freyda and turns her into a spectre.

No, he only says he will. In fact, he's pondering several things to do with her, and revels himself in those choices. I don't think he actually carries any of them out.

You do get a single Wraith after the cutscene, implying that he did just that.

Of course, there's only 1 guy in the whole HoMM universe with the name "Duncan" ...

Anyway, if Agrael had not slain Nicolai, the Demon Sovereign would have burned him to a crisp cinder in the deepest hells of Sheogh, before he would have had any chances of escaping his bonds. Agrael even realises this, because when he kills Nicolai, he says "Weird. Things just got a whole lot easier and a whole lot more complicated" (or something to that extent). Don't forget that the Demon Sovereign was still forcing his hand ...

Agrael's job was to kidnap Isabel, not kill Nicolai. Things got a lot more complicated because Isabel knows that Agrael killed Nicolai, and a lot simpler because he is now out of his way.
The stuff with Freyda also doesn't add up.
Oh and Isabel and Godric were just behind him when Raelag revealed himself to be Agrael in front of Kha-Beleth.

Actually we are not sure if he had received any new orders about killing Nikolai.

We don't. All we know was that Isabel's unexpected rallying pinned the Demonic hordes between two armies - Isabel's and Nicolai's - and the Demon Sovereign just couldn't risk killing Isabel. The only choice then was to rout Nicolai and his army. In fact, what Isabel had done gave him the exact opportunity to do so: Nicolai knew Isabel was in danger (just not exactly what the danger really was) and wanted to rescue her. Isabel unwittingly served as the bait to lure Nicolai before he was really ready to battle the Demon forces.

In any case it's obvious from the intro that the Sovereign wanted Nikolai dead, I mean the devil ignored everyone else.

yes, but that may also have been a strategy to separate the two and send Isabel where Biara waited for her in disguise of that girl (can't remember her name)

I'm hoping they come out with at least one scenario (download online) that shows how the switcheroo took place with Izzie and Biara.

I'm not sure i understood what's the deal with the spirit. Obviously the demons needed her spirit for Biara to maintain her disguise but Isabel seemed shocked when she reunited with it. I'm puzzled.

the way I see it, the real Isabel was missing some memories along with the spirit. Especially everything connected with the spirit, the fact that the demons took it from her, and that it was used to empower Biaras disguise. Maybe the game will be more detailed on that part later on. The cinematic with Biara being demasked is already played again with more details after the 4th orc mission (Alarics reaction is priceless).

pls, tell us more about the story, every detail is important
(all about Arantir,Alaric, Gotai, Kujin, Ornella and the others)

from what I understand she recovers after campaign one in tote so...maybe now she realizes who Raelag is and wants his head (not likely)
