True, but using a visual mod seems somewhat superfluous if it doesn't look good.




Woohoo, I actually managed to fix it for myself, I didn't even have any clue what to do, but that just goes to show that sometimes, you just have to try and see what happens.

I might upload a quick tutorial here later - it's actually deceptively simple, all you have to do is change something like 15 files where you correct one number. The tricky part is finding the right number, but that just comes with trying.





Ok, I need to find out how to move the minimize/maximize button, but that will be later.

alcibiades ... that was what I did to..  very tricky to find the exact number to put in... (again I use same setup (mod) for 1440*900, 1600*1050) works for me...
edit: btw ALL buttons works for me.....

On my old 3.0 version all of these MODs work fine.

Now, with 3.1 version, all works fine excepts buttons in menus...

They are badly positionned...

To move buttons, you need to enter individual .xdb files for each button and re-position them. For instance, buttons in combat screen menues are positioned in UI\CombatArena-Heavy\JogDial, and then all the fials are labeled InJogDial-something.

Yes, the only one that's misplaced is the small blue arrow to minimize and maximize. Very peculiar, as I cannot find any file referring to this button in particular. But I guess there's one somewhere.

Thanks but perhaps I will wait that someone finish the work.

btw, main menu color is grey here.

I prefer sylvan color..

Moreover, I find the main menu is too in screen center, I prefer it in the right-bottom corner.

for now, I use all of these mod excepts menu design, I use original H5 menu. But I use H5 1.0 animation in background with H5 1.0 icon menu...even if my version is 3.1

So we have Fiurs Combat Mod for 1440x900 1600x1050
and Okrane's for 1200x1000 here
And the fixed original for 1024x768 and 1156x864

@TSoD What resolution do you have

@TSoD i see that resource icon aren't in their right place in Hire Screen but don't see anything wrong in Build Town Structures

the resources icons and texts aren't well placed for the hire screen (build or creature).
And i discover another bug : the skillwheel isn't well growed too ! The dark filter beside it let a great blank space below...
And the button isn't well placed, too high.

This is not right, it shouldn't be based on resolution at all, since the game original UI works on all resolutions, doesn't it?

@SimonaK look here and pick the Sylvan one menu.

@Asheera I agree with you.

I'm wondering what is in the original menus that they stay in good place no matter the resolution and the Xazardous one need fixing for almost evry higer resolution. If we would find that we would have to made change in this mod for every desired resolution it should be automatic.

No, there must be some other way of doing it, since the original Xarxadous Mods worked independandly of resolution! I suspect these tags might do it automatically:

<VerAllign>
<First>EPA_LOW_END</First>
<Second>false</Second>
</VerAllign>

If you change the <second> tag to True and simply remove the <x> / <y> coordinate tags - or, change them to false in second! - but I don't know!




Meanwhile, I just managed to finish the last things in the 1280/1024 resolution mod! So, now Runebar and Minimize button are in right position.



Here's a quick rundown of what to do (for anybody interested):

1. Download Nebdars mod linked on previous page.

2. Mod folder contains 3 sub-folders: Text, Textures and UI - we only work in UI folder.

3. In main folder, you open two files:

  a. CombatScreen-Heavy.(WindowScreenShared).xdb
     Scroll down and change <size> tage to appropriate screen resolution (not sure if necessary, but that's what I did).

  b. RunesBarSnapBottomPlace.(WindowSimple).xdb
     Scroll down and shift <y> coordinate by appropriate amount to move downwards. I had to add 53 to Nebdars number to reach correct position!

4. Go to CombatArena-Heavy folder.

5. In main folder, you open two files:

  a. Open file: PlacementBar.(WindowSimple).xdb
     Change <y> coordinate in same way as descriped in 4.b. This shifts the placement bar (in tactics fase).

  b. Open file: Jogdial.(WindowSimple).xdb
     Change <y> coordinate as above. This shifts the lower-right menu.

6. Open folder ATBBar.

  a. Open file: ATBBar.(WindowSimple).xdb
     Change <y> coordinate as above. This shifts the ATB bar in combat.

7. Go back to CombatArena-Heavy folder and go to JogDial folder.

  a. Open file: OnJog-AtbToggle.(WindowMSButton).xdb
     Change <y> coordinate as above. This shifts minimize button for ATB bar.

  b. Modify files relating to all bottom right menu buttons. These are named: OnJog-*function*.(WindowMSButtonShared).xdb, where *function* relates to the buttons purpose: Defend, NextCreature, Special, Spellbook, StartCombat, Wait. A total of 6 files if I'm right. Change <y> coordinates as above. This shifts the buttons on the bar.

Notice: Don't change files relating to buttons on top menu, i.e. Flee, AutoCombat and Menu!

8. Go back to CombatArena-Heavy folder and go to RunesBar folder.

  a. Open file: RunesBar.(WindowSimple).xdb
     Change <y> coordinate as above. This shifts the Runes Bar or the Runes, not quite sure.



This is what I did, and apparantly, it works (see above shots). Like I said, when I run resolution 1280 x 1024, I had to switch 53 pixels downwards compared to Nebdars values - you will want to try by trial-and-error to find your own values, if you run another resolution.

And I have another problem. Probably I missed something because my Rage button work incorectly. And I think that there is something wrong with Runes bar.

You missunderstood me(probably because of my english ).
I dont have Rune bar. Place where it should be is only little darker.

I think that some textures are missing. Probably the same problem is with the Rage button.

As far as I could see, you need to fix two things to have Runebar in correct place: Both in main UI folder, you fix one file (point 3.b in my list) and in RunesBar folder, you fix one file (point 8 in my list). I assume first part moves the actual runebar, while the second part moves the runes themselves - but not sure about that.
