mines, resources & taxes

I think that resources shouldn't instantly be added to your stockpile as soon as a hero picks them up.  They should have to bring them to the castle first.  Mines should have to have a caravan bring the resources to the castle each week (so if someone takes a mine far away from their castle, it isn't that easy to use).  The caravan could be attacked and its resources plundered.  You sould also be able to build houses.  The houses would supply workers for building things in the castle (somthing i've been wanting for a while).  You could also tax these people with tax collectors.  What do you think?

That'd be too much of a pain. I'd much rather have it as it is.

Yes, caravans are a good idea, and routes could be attacked and resources diverted ( it's hilarious to steal a gold mine near the castle of my enemy and enjoy it!).But houses...that's too much AOE in it... as about taxes, yes, you might have taxes in the towns that you conquer but bith all the risks that come with it.

I have always dreamed about game like that...

It would be turn based strategygame.
Fast paced like HoMM but you would have tons of micromanagement in the side and units would be fighting in the main map and not in different battlemap.
There could be some kind of economic model like settlers has but more tactical view to battle.
That is just dreamgame and possibly never comes true...

But this whole idea doesn't really fit into HoMM. I mean it would make it too complicated and I think most people prefer keep it simple.

well...

I agree having all of that would be too complicated, I was suggesting only having one of those things.  I do think that they need workers for building things.  They might not come from houses, but I really think that would add a good aspect to the game.

As we all see heroes evolving, it's geting more and more complex. So I think one days all these ideas will be incorporated, in, let's say, heroes 7...just be pacient and keep the ideas flowing....
