its only too powerful in short games. In really long ones youll probably be level 20+ before you start attacking

75% experience bonus isn't nearly as good as it sounds.

I think it is as good as it sounds.  Against Elvin he was able to reach level 18 by the time I reached level 12 due to enlightenment and artifacts...and that was without the set bonus.

But fine, no one thinks it's overpowered, I'll go sit in the corner.

Level 18 requires 57,533 experience, level 12 requires 20,600 experience. Even if you had Expert Enlightenment and the artifacts at level 1, you would have still been 3 levels behind. Oh and the main advantage from Enlightenment isn't the extra experience, it's the extra skill points. With Expert Enlightenment, even if Elvin was the same level as you, he would have had 6 more primary stat points.

I think reaching the next level faster is a nice bonus too. 3 levels makes a huge difference.  Various things have level checks.  So it isn't "just 3 levels".  But enough, in the grand scheme of things, it's a small element.

yeah besides extra primary numbers with enlight...phoenix is right though. even 1 ability can make or break a battle, some of them can do that

The extra experience from Expert Enlightenment barely gets you one extra level. Only with Expert Enlightenment and the artifacts can you get two or three extra levels. Plus there's also the cost of the artifacts to take into consideration, as well as the cost of choosing Enlightenment over another skill like Logistic, which could also give you more experience by letting your hero visit more learning objects and kill more neutrals, or Luck and Resourcefulness, which could give your army an extra boost with the resources you would get.

it can be annoying but i like to take logistics just about all the time cause it really sucks when u cant do anything without it taking a week to do, even though u want other skill, the time lost of not being able to move is costly

I got 2 reasons why you should be dungeon when you decides to collect all the dragon artifacts.

1. They got the strongest Tier 7 creatures in the game.

2. You have an artifact merchant in your castle

indeed, 1 black dragon/day, you get a creature that is immune to all magic with the best stats, or 1 red dragon/day, you get the most damaging creature in the game (incinerate is too crazy)

but, i fear inferno the most, if they get power of the dragons + pendant of mastery, they will be near impossible to stop, archdevils or archdemons with ultimate gating and power of dragons = 14 tier 7 creatures / week, compared to all another faction which only get 7 creatures/week, but archdevil is far more crazy than archdemon, why? summon pit lords, add urgash call, you'll face your worst nightmare

Yes, Puppet Master can truly be an unfair spell...I would suggest that they rebalance it to make it work more along the lines of the Succubus Temptress' ability.

Back on topic. With reusable Dragon Utopias, a change I only recently noticed, hardly any of the sets are hard to get. Though I will admit I always have problems with the Dragon Flame Tongue.

Still, the Dragon Set will be the one you pursue in most games, and the great thing is that the bonuses along the way are great.

The Lion Set thing is very easy to get and if your hero has Empathy, it's amazing how many times he gets a go. It's one of my favorite sets when combined with Learship for a total of 8 morale I think.

Most of the other sets seem worthless unless you are getting them for the corresponding faction. Runeforce set sucks, it it probably the worst one...unless you are playing Dungeon. Same goes for that Demon set that I forget what it's called.

Overall, the main sets that are worth getting is the Lion, the Dwarf, the Archer's Dream, Sarr Issues Regalia and the Dragon Set. I may have missed one, but I don't want to recollect all of them right now. All the others are good if you are playing the corresponding faction.

I think the Necromancer set bears absolutley nothing good for other factions. The only thing that I see causing problems with these artifacts sets is the fact that players with Trade Guilds might be at an advantage, with some really easy artifacts that are cheap being available to them. Still, resources guild is a waste of money in the early game and I haven't seen any complaints yet.

Personally, of all of the aforementioned ones, I think the Stronghold one sucks the most..

I mean, every other class set provides some positive affects, but not really any negative effects to you, with the excpetion of perhaps Will of Urgash (the helm) which is -1 defense.
With the Ogre set, however, you get a -5% to your own armys' initiative per item. I think init is one of the most important statitics in the game, especially for a race like Stronghold, who has almost all melee who become more powerful by taking aggressive actions as often as possible.

Now, if the Barbarian gets the whole set, they get a -10% to initiative, but decent 30% reduction in their time between actions. So if you have some good warcries, or you pack a powerful punch I might consider it..but only if I had something to negate the negative initiative, like Ring of Celerity.

-10% initiative is a lot, but +5 attack and defense is huge as well
