Vamps featured in a lot of Romanian Myths, and creatures simmilar to vampires occur in many mythologies, though they may have different attributes (eg, dusting in daylight, turning into a wolf, hypnosis, tree dwelling, becoming a butterfly, etc)

Also, what mythology did the Dragon come from?

actually, vampires are part of mythology, just not dracula himself!

they were the bodies of the dead who refused to rest and needed to suck blood in order to survive. they were easily killed by salt.

There where no dragons in AoM.

Vampires are still not fitting to AoM.
AoM should have creatures from major mythologies, from mythologies with gods etc.

Not some ridiculos Vampires or good fairies or werewolfs.

Oh my god, are you actually suggesting that Vampires could be a part of Age of Mythology?

I think that Vampires were probably around in perhaps the Middle Ages or the Dark Ages, but not in Ancient Greek and Ancient Roman or even Ancient Egyptian times.

I doubt they were around then, so I don't think that Vampires are very fitting for Age of Mythology.

I don't think that Dragons are either, because again, they might have been around since the Dark or Middle Ages, because I have seen no records of Dragons or Vampires back in Ancient Times.

My thought is that the AOM2 game would be set at the same time as AOE2, which was in the Dark Ages.  However, it would be AU, where Christianity never conqured the world. The campaign tells the story of 6 heroes (A young Greek Soldier who becomes a minor leader|An Egyptian Preist trying to rekindle faith in his people|An Atlatean, Grandaughter of Kastor, explores hidden secrets in the ruins of Atlantis|A Persian Lord who attacks Egypt but realizes that if he doesn't ally with them, bad things will happen|Vercingetorix, A Celtic Farmer who goes on a revenge quest against a Vamp and becomes involved in the Army resisting Ceaser|A Valkyrie trying to bring an end to all the war and rally armies against the true threat: Fenrir, who has escaped his bonds and is brining Ragnarok on his heels.  The end is an exciting 3 way battle against the Giants and Fenris, Ceasers army, and the Free Peoples.

Pervading through all campaigns is Ceaser's attempts to take over the mediterranean.

The game title is Age of Mythology, that means Mythological times, not like the times set in with Age of Empires 2, because I hardly think that is Mythological.

Mythology is about Myths, not times.  I mean, Norse Myths occured much after the Egyptian Myths, but they are still both myths.

age of mythology doesn't care about different time periods. they have Egyptian phoenix's cavorting with norse giants (that would make a very ugly baby).

anyway. it doesn't matter about time period, it matters about mythology.

Celtic? I don't think so, that wouldn't fit too much into the game.

Asiastic? lol, sorry but no.

Maso-American? No way, that would definately not fit into the game!

if u keep the same mythlogyes and civs'what is the point of making a second game,when u can simply make a new map?

Slavic-> Meny mythlogys,including VAMPS!
Asiatic->Fits 100% more then atleantis i'd say,ya-ohh
Celtic-> Much better then norse,invloves giants and druids.
Maso-American> Indians,who can say no? i mean sirously will.do not listen to urself alone.

Broden my horizons?

Well, sure, I would do that, but not with the stuff that would not have any place in the "Age of Mythology" World.

Could you really see those things working in a game like that?

I couldn't.

Look what happened to The Age of Empires series.

The first 2 were awesome, and then came Age of Empires 3, and it was more "modernized", and for me, it is not as good as Age of Empires 1 or 2.

It just isn't the same anymore, and if these things you are mentioning come into the Age of Mythology world, then it won't be the same either, and it will probably not be as good.

yeah, but on the other hand, age of mythology can't survive on just the same four sections it has at the moment. people want choice, so using just four races for the next game is going to get boring, and makes it seem that microsoft just isn't trying to do anything new.

anyway, people always associate mythology with greeks, egyptians and norse, which is fair enough. however, their is a huge range of mythology beyond that, and it would be interesting to explore that as well.

Well I disagree with the use of Dragons, Vampires and al lthat other stuff.

Now that I think about it, Celtic might actually be alright, since they have been around for a long time, and they had their own set of Gods and such, and I think that it would be a nice addition to the game.

What is your beef (am I saying that right) about Dragons or Vamps in an AOM game?

I mean, they're mythological creatures, and there's already one Dragon, two if you count the Pestudoclos(spelling)
