I rarely play Dungeon, but I what I like most is the concept of empowered spells. Creatures and their stats are great, but offset by low groth.

But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it.

I like the creatures especially the black dragon Furies and assassins are the coolest among their tier too

I don't really like how the hero looks riding the lizard, but I love blasting stuff with a powerfull spell, even if it gets boring after a while.

Above all dungeon gives me that very enjoyable impression of having immense power at the tip of my fingers

I hated h3 dungeon - weak and annoying lineup, looked very stupid too (excluding minos).

H5 dungeon is something I expected this faction to be.

W00t? What about Blackies???

H3 Black Dragons looked better than H5 Blackies

The H5 dragons look a bit too fat around the midsection, less streamlined I think. Plus, what was so cool in H2 and H3, was the addition of yellow stuff to the spine spikes and stuff like that. Yellow mixes VERY well with black, and I severely miss that.

This town has the second best variety of creatures. And if you have good choice of skills, than you can't be defeated.

While it's obviously based on one's preference, I find h3 blackies utterly ugly, looking like a black pixelated something meant to look as a dragon, but in fact resembling a big dark lizard with some badly placed spikes.

H5 blacks are beautiful and make a nice blast voice if you happen to have a subwoofer, too

h2 blacks were the best overall, looked powerful and majestic.

Agreed, the H2 ones looked best.

But I still think the H5 ones look too bloated around the midsection and not at all aerodynamic, or majestic. That was the word I was looking for

And that wicked blast sound is only done by the un-upgraded versions, unfortunately. Probably could be modded though to have the upgades perform that uber-blast sound

Well, I dislike that Minotaurs were changed from being a nasty damage dealer, to a sluggish tank.

H3 Minos > H5 Minos...

...but ok, if the story is that Minotaurs are slaves to the Dark Elves, then it sort of make sense to demote them from T5-might, to T3-meekness... and since Dungeon is more of a spell-tossing town, then a healthy T3 is probably more worth than another Fury-wannabe.

Still... Minotaurs were always fun to use in HoMM III, and now I just look on them as a road blocker.

I like dungeon alignment a lot because they are very focused on finesse.

What I don't like is they not having a hard hitter for levels 5-6. All other factions have at least one hard hitting creature at these levels. I think this hurts them quite a bit especially late game.

I have always hated the dungeon faction. It's not for their gameplay or anything, it's just the idea of an underground castle that bugs me. And the hero portraits which I find ugly.

The Dungeon faction is most like me, and that is why it's my third favorite faction (Necro, Fortress, Dungeon, blah blah) Earlier there was a comment about the heroes' steed. Its a zaur, and they are strong enough to withstand the eccentric wielders atop them. A like the spellcaster animation, especially Ylaya's in HoF. Their creatures are good, but I especially like Hydras especially with the addition of the new one. I wish a hero specialized in them. Anyway, the Dungeon with the master of elements is a healthy faction to me.

Likes to play them because:

1: They generally look really good (no.. I dont mean the pinups.. I mean that they look "nasty", "evil", "dangerous" so on..). I like the looks of all the creatures exept the hydras head(s..), but well.. not much to do with it I guess.. And yeah.. I think the dragons look.. weid.. all of them.. every dragon in the game looks weird.. but thats my opinion. (and black drag is the best looking one.. maybe exept emerald..)

2: I stink at playing them so I really need to work hard to succes with them, and if I then succes then the victory tast very sweet : )

3: The spells (what I voted for actually). I generally adore to cast spells in H5, I think they look really good!  Favourite is dark (but thats because I usually play necro), but with warlock I pick dest, and well.. The other magic dont bother me that much.. but well.. maybe dark?

4: They have strong creatures with low growth. This makes them fun to play : )

5: They are dark elves, my second favourite "mythical/RPG/stuff" race.. Only necro facinates me more.. brr.. I almost freeze when I think about the nasty necrostuff.. Seen way too many pictures of nasty lieches and wraiths..

Well.. thats it then..

Cause of the good magic. This game is call hero of Might and Magic. You can't win purely by might A.K.A creatures alone. A Hero with strong magic like meteor shower, chain lightning, amagedon(S/P? i have poor english =.=) and implosion can really turn the tide. Of course you can't win just by pure magic against another hero.

Are you just talking about about dungeon now or all factions? Because i´ve won (and lost) against heroes who have only might or magic skills. If you face a magic faction with a might one like Haven you choose magic defences through might skills like defence? Am i stupid?
The first faction i ever played in H5 was dungeon and i loved them from the start. The thing i like most is the town´s atmosphere, the music sounds very mysterious. In these days i´ve converted to liking Haven more than dungeon, sometimes i try to go back to dungeon but i still find Haven more interesting. Dungeon is still a town which i like fighting against, losing or winning.
