I like playing Narxes:

Having both light and dark magic schools can come very handy in every situation(Mass Haste + Mass Slow). The Swift Mind gives to cast curse or Freanzy, puppet master on the begining of combat. The Refined Mana for Archmages is realy doing wonders. the Distract skill and Dark Renewal gives adavantage against enemy caster to cast quickly even when the spell is resisted.

I enjoy playing ranger, and have some variations depending on my heroe.

Thats how i like to see dirael at mid-game. Her wasp swarm allows to creep very fine.
Using mass slow and imbued arrow+wasp swarm i can absolutely keep every unprepared enemy having almost no turns of his own.
Works fine against heavy-shadow magic inferno, specially when they aren't expecting  .

That works very fine if i can get that naturally

That's a pretty ballsy build for sylvan. Sylvan is a fairly heavy might faction and you've got everything invested in magic, but it looks like a pretty good build. I might be prone to stick those 3 skills in sorcery and invest them in leadership instead to work towards empathy. That will assist in speeding up you're hero regardless and help your units in the process as well. Having a slowed enemy + high morale for your own troops will work wonders.

Oh, and this brings up a curious question which I should know the answer to but I don't. Does sorcery speed up the heroes turn rate when they are using imbued rain of arrows? If not, then I would definitely change those investments in sorcery to something else. You've only got a 4% chance to be offered sorcery anyway so it could be awhile.

Here's a deadly build for Dungeon:

And it doesn't require an 'impossible' level to reach either.

You can't be serious First of all it requires lvl 24. Secondly it's very very easy to pick things you do not want just because they appeared much like master of fire, expert logistics, erratic mana. Add a few levels and it's something less than 30 that is unreasonable to even try. Only in epic maps.

Edit: Sorcery is useless for that ranger build. Does not affect mass spells neither imbued spells, at least it didn't use to but it's unlikely they changed it.

To get in 25 levels it is. Most maps don't allow you to reach 25 much less above.

Maybe some Witch Huts may help?

I'd drop Swift Mind if I can't get it... (this means Arcane Intuition and Logistics + Scouting as well)

True, altough most needed is empathy I guess, to speed your might and magic capabilities. But maybe thats why hard to get it.(2% or knight set)

Neah, swift mind is making up for dungeon's 0 defense. Need to kill fast before your army falls from every strike. What good is empathy without an army to get morale? By shooting a good meteor or fireball will even the odds.

Thx the comments, that's what i waited for.
I really didnt know sorcery doesn't work, i thought it worked and tried to get it always as possible (what happens few times). Ill trade it for empathy next time, as suggested
About exorcism, yes, it works, not the best skill on the wheel, but more usefull than other skills from summoning magic (ill not get summoning spells from my own city depending more on lucky).

Im wondering if the bonus effect from wasp swarn would work on imbued ballista. Do heroe's bonus effects work on it?

No, but you can't kill them fast either. It's almost impossible to defeat dwarves without swift mind.

Well I think Expert Sorcery improves your speed a lot more than Swift Mind in the long run - so that's better versus Dwarves

Not without swift mind. Play hof as dungeon vs dwarves. You can't kill them. I've never heard of a victory against dwarves in a week 4-5 fight. And that's because destruction hurts you more than it hurts them. Even on fast maps, Svea ?(that hero that starts with destruction) could probably kill any  dungeon hero.
