is there a way to get this Kreature-Exchange-Button without WOG?

WOG is required to install the Tournament edition. You should know that there is a difference between these two. when you have installed it, you can select what to be modified, and that way you can exclude all of the WOG options.
A useful trick is to keep your heroes 3 complete or sod data folder and just rename it. then a new one, a data folder for TE (and WOG) will be created in the install directory and you will be able to switch between the two games by renaming each folder. when you want Complete, name data the Complete data folder and when you want TE, name data the TE data folder.
another bonus for the TE edition, there is an incorporated version of cranim.

no way without WOG because buttons use ERM-scripts...don't be afraid of TE Current russian Heroes.by tournament consist of >70 players that play TE only. However keep in mind that many WOG/TE features are normally disabled. I will post recommended TE settings later

However, it would be great to have a version of Heroes consisting of ONLY this change. This way, you can still play the default Heroes3 and only limit the amount of time for game-playing (game-waiting). No changes in levels for spells (e.g. slow), additional abilities for various skills, etc. ..
May be this version would be more stable than what it currently is ...

Yes would be nice just to use the erm engine just for that matter...and that should be possible.

Nobody is afraid from TE, but there is too much changes and not everyone accept it. Even if you are OK with all of them - if you dont want to play singleplayer, so you need an opponent. And this opponent must accept the changes too. Wich is not always the case.

The biggest and most controversial changes are:

- Creatures gain experience
- Hero classes
- Armorer 20%, because in this case Tazar level 20 would be 40% armorer, wich is insane
- Creature specialist increase creature growth in castle.

Does TE have any new hard coding? Or is it just a DAT file and some scripts? Because as far as I know, everything in WOG can be turned off except for a few minor things like some graphics.

Well, more than 70 players accepted TE already. Unfortunately, they almost never show into Gamespy (normally use ICQ), mostly don't speak english and don't play WCL yet. I think about possibilities to unite these people with international community, however it's not easy.

Very easy. People should discuss only 2-3 settings instead of 10-15 SOD rules.

Can be switched off. I personally prefer to play with experience, though may switch it off if opponent asks.

Wystan with 40 HP Lizards is also insane Or Broghild with 120 HP wyverns...or Alkin...i don't select Tazar starting Fortress anymore, though he is still very good.

It's good change imho. It increases value of creature specialists thus making better choice of starting/main heroes

Some minor hardcoding (e.g. eliminating "town view" bug). I'm not sure if ALL features can be switched off - there were many changes including ERM scripts, txt-files, etc.

Try to contact Horn, his ICQ is 286955870. I greatly doubt that he will do such version as far as he's busy with TE 1.03R development and other things...
P.S. imho people will not intall WOG just for "creature-exchange" buttons. Such version will be non-compatible with 3.2/4.0 same way as TE.

You can switch off classes in TE.ini file. Keep in mind, that TE.ini is taken not from host, but from Red player's PC.

Dont understand me wrong, i am not against these changes. I dont argue whether its good or bad. Well, apart from the armorer 40% wich is too much

Its just that its very different and some of my friends, that i play with, might be hard to be convinced.

So in the begining its better to start with the less changes possible and to try them one by one.

Maybe we can get a short instruction, how to do it. Maybe we can do it on our own.

Maybe we just need some files for the basic erm tool, plus the script belonging to the change button.

Sometimes things look complicated, sometimes they arent as complicated as they look.

Actually if heroes classes, creature gain experience and heroes modifications are switch off, than TE is pretty much like SOD.

I know that, the first two can be disabled from the TE.ini script, some values must be changed from 0 to 1. For the classes its written, but which one is the value for the creature experience?

And heroes modifications is said to be abble to switch off from the options inside the game, but does it work? Because i remember i tried a game with a friend few months ago, and we both were very surprised to see 5 cavaliers in his castle town. Obviously Tyris has rised some levels. But i am not sure we enabled heroes modifications.

ERM scripts are programs that change homm3 normal work. Scripts work only with homm3 WOG or TE versions. You can read more about scripts in WOG sub-forum at Heroescommunity
