I'm planning see the watchmen today so I took the time to read the comics and got hooked, interesting read  At times you get the feeling you have seen that before but the characters and the way the pieces of the storyline come together make it worthwhile. It's not a typical heroes save the world theme, it's dark and raw dealing with the flaws of humanity.

I heard that the movie is a decent adaptation but that it cannot reach the comic's potential. I'll let you know when I actually see it but I have a feeling that it's true, such a comic with so many details and branching storyline is not easy to transfer into the big screen. I mean the movie is around 3 hours and they still had to cut some parts.
As for the comic I will definitely have to take a second look, it's not the kind of material that you can fully absorb the first time. Knowing how you like comics you should probably have a look if you haven't already

Going to see Watchmen this weekend as well, haven't read the comic book though. I wonder if it will make me like the movie more, as I don't have what to compare it to. Hope söy. Looking forward to it immensly , as 2 friends have already told that it is great.

Probably too silly of me to even consider the possibility you hadn't. In the last few years I check comics shortly before watching the movies, 300 and V for Vendetta were also great. Growing up in Greece I never had the chance to know most though some guys are really dedicated, gotta know the right people.
