Here folks,what do you think of expert first aid?
Crap or gold?

I think they do restore lots of hp to selected stacks!

Most games I play are no diplo.  But if Diplo is legal, you gotta get it in there somewhere.  Depending on map, pathfinding is always good to have too.

As for the 8th skill, never fails, usually get stuck with something you don't want.  Depending on the map, I usually try to make it wisdom for pan boxes, but doesn't always happen.  I will admit, I like Luck for a skill, flame me. lol

some of u gonna say no wisdom?? well i find that in most games maybe 9 outta 10 the game is over before i have time to build guild or i have gotten a magic tome from topia or similar and then u dont even need wisdom ..

resistance isent great but when u cast mass haste and yr opponent cast mass slow or vice versa that fast unit resisting can be so important in final combat, but i guess u can live without it and pick wisdom if its a long game.

Wisdom - Always needed

Logistics - Duh

Mystiesyim - Needed for when your Hero is away

Intelligence - I play with a magic hero and This skill is a must

Ballictics - Get rid of those annoying towers

Earth Magic - Slow, Stone Skin, Implosion, Town Portal, Animate Dead/Ressurection

Air Magic - Haste, Lighting Bolt, Dissrupting Ray, Counterstrike, Chain Lighting

Offense - +30% damage

All of these depend though.  If I Loynis I would pick water magic, if it was a small map Mystieyim would be useless.  If i was Necropolis, Necromancy would be a choice.

I agree with 99% of archies post.

Tho i rather have tactics in me 2nd slot than offense. Switch places between them (earth magic still 3) and you got a deal

Most good players would most probably say that I am an amateur and I am indeed one but I have a thing for pure magic heroes. Some would it is not necessary or even downright insane to have this but here is my preferred 8 skills...

Ok Web i would be a gentleman & let you have Solmyr.
Lets say I am my fav Fortress & I will have Bron being a nice guy not taking Tazar ;0
My skills with my specialty being the basalisk will be

Offense
Armourer
Resistance
Air
Luck
Archery
tactics
Artillary

lets say it is week 4 & we both have a full army.

Lets say were fighting in the swamp & I go first.
I would simply use Mass haste so most of my creatures can reach you & out of harms way of your Chain Lightning orless you want to get hurt first.

Lets say we are fighting in the snow & you get to attack first.
Qhat are you going to do?
Chain lightning well you better hope you make it count because once it's my turn i am mass hasting & basically get 2 free turns & by the time you get a turn you would be hurting bad.

So say you use slow.
What would you do then, i would not go near me with your ground troops because for me they will only be in the way & you can shoot me but i will only mass haste myself.

If I dont have Air i usually go for water but I like both with fortress.
So if you slow me & I cant mass haste i rely on my water skills to help me move forward & my defense helps.
My offense wont be as great as my defense but my archery skills will help my ballista do some damage on you & my Lizards.

Point is you rely on magic too much.
Magic is good for supporting your heroes in battle.
Offensive spells usually not dependable on winning the whole game when all you need is some sort of knight & a good low lv skill to counter it.

..funny to see that even long time players or even vets still answer in this stupid "which is the best lvl7 unit" "..the best skills" "best blah" "best blub".

They are made by offlinern, when they are bored and occur every now and then.

Funny to see that they even try to convince them to see it "their ways" and then u know they think "nah Solmyr is still da man".

I think if at least some vets wont answer to stupid posts the quality may raise (and please Kuma ban this soccafreak forever from this board, hes already making fun out of u, and thats what u really dont deserve).

Sure Acu, some of us might be noobs to HC, but that dosen't mean we don't know diddly about RPG'S and HOMM.  I've seen close to 100 of your aprox 2500 posts--you've added some quality topic...and not.  All I'm trying to say is that even an old fox like you (yes I've seen your pic--as far being old to HC) can learn a new trick from a noob like me--who's been playing RPG's for 20+ years.  I've been trying to figure how to get through the firewall on my brother's comp to play with you big time TOHers on the zone for weeks now--but still no luck.  Your pretty sharp--like a knife in the throat--and your very close to me; maybe you could help out a poor desperate noob who's tired of the same old AI.

Anyway don't mean to flame.  Just frustrated.

..nope im not saying this.. its just that most of the newbies (which didnt read any info about online gaming) choose tower and solmyr in their first game ...and of course got beaten hard...so its more like an onliner-joke.

I think Solmyr is overrated, but surely he still one of the best. If hes been able to get over to your place in an early Random 160 (day 17-23), hes might be hard to stop. After this his chance of winning goes down to subzero. As soon as your oponent knows u r using Solmyr as Main, his chance of winning goes down to zero too. For me i fear Solmyr as scout, this in addition with hit and run can cause u heavy losses before it comes to the real endfight. In a game against Maximus i did it this way..but for sure i felt sick about it and dismissed this stupid Solmyr after i did it once.

yes....solymir as most magic heroes, are the kind of heroes who ¨win fast, or don't win at all¨      ...but in sometimes you can win fast, on others, well, Choose neela or rissa , or better, hope you get hack on the tavern, Anyway, i'm a so bad Tower player......
