I see that many of you likes thoose artifacts that gives extra initiatives. Especially you Homer Nice ones! And the chice of the others, too.
I don't think that luck is important for us, but the moral... I would say that play against a hero that has -1 to -5 luck is better even more if he has morale penalty.
The Knight's troops would be exrtemely successful if the haro has all the three morale-giving artifacts. (-2 morale for each attack is quite strong I think...)

I gave Ossir 2 ring of speed + dragon armor and his emeralds had initiative 17. So, 2 ring of speed doesn't work anymore. Then, I gave him RoSpeed,  RoCelerity and dragon armor. He had initiative 19.
So, it looks like it's multiplicative: 14*1.2*1.1*1.05 = 19.404
If it were additive then it would be: 14*1.35 = 18.9 and the game would say 18

It's additive. Just for testing purposes, I made a tiny mod, that raised the initiative of my test creature (an ArchAngel) to exactly 100. Then I equipped a Hero with a single ArchAngel with different combinations of four Artifacts: Ring of Celerity (+10% speed), Ring of Speed (+20% speed), Dragon Wing Mantle (+10% speed for flyers), Dragon Scale Armor (+5% speed for Large Creatures).

RingC x2 = 120 init
RingS x2 = 120 init (so 2 Rings of Speed indeed do not work)
RingC + RingS = 130 init
Mantle + Armor = 115 init
RingC + RingS + Mantle + Armor = 145 init.

They're cummulative. Had they been multiplicative, the combination of 4 Artifacts would have yielded an init of 152,46.

I like the fact that fast creatures benefits from initiative boosting artifacts the most. Vice versa Staff can really hurt Sylvan and Inferno. Whit tree ini artifacts Nightmares initiative can be boosted 16 to 21,6 Zombies has the lowest initiative and their boost would only be 6 to  8,1.

How do you mod creature stats? Also, I still don't understand why in my example the game tells 19 instead of 18. I assume the game just "cuts off" the decimal part of initiative.

But that are only 8 artifacts. Choose an extra Ring and something for your Pocket, too.

I think it actually rounds them. Anyway, you can find the creature stats under /GameMechanics/Creature/Creatures. In that folder, you will find some more folders, of the various factions (including one for Neutrals). Each one also contains a deeper folder yet, with the second upgrade data.

Ohh, and very cool - I just noticed it: it also contains files that dictate which cells are hit with special attacks (like the Pixie spray attack and the crossfire from Rune Priests).

Just made few tests whit Dragon Scales (5% initiative boost for 2hex) and it does round up. Treant or other low initiative creatures will not benefit from this but initiative of 10 (Colossus etc) will get now initiative of 11. So 0.5 or higher will automatically be rounded up and if it's lower it comes 0 of course. This is logical but just needed to test it that it's not always rounded down.

I agree with Azagal. I would rather choose the Dragon Teeth Necklance. This artifact is great to make Pit Lords stronger. (I know that he is the only caster in Inferno, but the Dragon Teeth Necklance is more useful than the Amulet of Necromancy in this manner.)

If I can't get the complete dragonset...(common 1 free level 7 a day?  No wonder it takes 8 pieces) and a ring of speed with Horseshoe...

For Sylvan I would go with...
Archers dream
+1 damage necklace
As many init boosting arties I can get
For the places I can't find init boosters..Attack Boosters
or -init for enemy.
Ring of Vitality if can't get a Ring of C/S combo

Sadly I can't remember names of thing so well.  *sighs*.  Or I would give more examples.
