Unfortunately that is true Binabik.  Mostly I dislike Country because that was ALL my parents ever listened to.  Got me burned out on it quick.  Still like a few from the genre, but not many.

For me, it wasn't really a matter of getting tired of listening to it. My parents rarely played music that I remember. To this day I couldn't name a single band that my mother liked, and only a few that my father liked (but no songs).  It was the 60s. It was a time of rebellion. If it wasn't rock it sucked, simple as that. The 60s were a complete rejection of EVERYTHING that came before.

People my age think I am weird that I like things like Boch.  Seems it has to be either on MTV or be something 'anti-establishment' to be worth anything.  Yeah, I like some of both (things played on MTV and some of the 'anti-establisment' bands.  During my 'rebellious' (ok was never super rebellious) phase all I listened to was grunge metal.

You mean Bosch? I like Bosch, they make good fuel injection systems. (but you probably have no idea what I'm talking about)

Well I honestly wouldn't know a fuel injector from a carborator (except that if a vehicle has one it typically does not have the other) so it goes without saying that all I can say is "Huh?"

Seriously? I didn't know that. Did Siemens buy Bosch?

Somehow that's kind of sad. Same thing happening here. Grrrr, globalization.....

Isnt Bosch some company that does something with vehicles? In Sweden there is a commercial for "Mekonomen" (they sell car stuff) and they mention Bosch. ("Mekonomen Direkt, it is Karin! Yes, we have the right wheels for your needs. If you want too you can split up the payment over 4 months without any additional fees. Order time for wheel swapping with Ekonomen Direkt on 0771-72 00 00. All day long...")

My parents, particularly my mum, had a lot of records with more or less psychadelic bands back from the 60's. Lots of Beatles and Stones, of course, and stuff like Jefferson Airplane and Cream I recall.

I'm not myself very much into the 60's bands, but both my parents had a huge thing with Bob Dylan, who's music I enjoy occasionally, and of course they picked up some things while I grew up, like Eagles (Hotel California - my mum loved that record) and Dire Straits which I listen to myself these days.

My mum had a pretty open mind with regards to music, and enjoyed some of the stuff I listen to as well, like Genesis and Sheryl Crow, and even think she recognized the qualities of Michael Jackson, even if it wasn't something she would give a spin of her own. My dad also has a lot of classical music, but he never was allowed to listen to that when my mum was around.

I browsed through my dads old records, and found a lot of disco bands, plus some old tapes with Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones songs. My mom likes ABBA and Michael Jackson a lot.
