Well unlike RMS graceful textbook interpretations of what rose colours symbolise, in some cultures a yellow rose doesn't symbolise joy, freedom, respect, caring or Texas love (whatever the hell that is).

It symbolises death.

...hmm, well yes it can at times...if you're referring to how marigolds are used in Mexico, or something...and there might be other flowers for others, but is there really something wrong with yellow rose?

If you're talking about the innocence of a yellow rose, then no, there's nothing really wrong with it, but to give someone a yellow rose means you hope they're going to die. A rose is a rose, but when it comes to giving one to a girl, you don't give her a yellow one, you give her a red one. You can have no other choice.

I am a sucker for a single red rose. There is nothing as symbolic as a guy giving me a single flower like a rose.
Well, I both agree and disagree here, Shae. It depends on the person; giving him/ her his/ her favorite flower is the token of symbolism.

They are perfect in every way, they smell the way that we can only wish about and they have petals that are softer and more vibrant than anyone could ever dream for.
I disagree here. My favouite roses are virgo (white; not too hard to figure) and I can tell you nothing beats their purity and soft petals and innocent aura they give out.

I remember a guy who once gave me a yellow rose thinking that he was cool. I slapped him SOOO hard and walked away so fast that I never even got the chance to tell him what a yellow rose really means.
He didn't know you well, I guess. If I get a red rose from a guy, I would slap him SO hard he won't dare look at me again. The story is long but basically, gifting me a red rose means "I like you, cutie, but I'd go for your best friend". Oh, thank you. I don't need such losers.

There something very.....erot....ern...something about it.

Now we just need little wet to watch it grow...

What I'm saying here?

Dang!

You know, I doubt it would mean that to every guy who might think of giving you a red rose...

Also, orchids are pretty for whoever was talking about them.

If that guy who wants to give a red rose has ANY interest in me, he would KNOW I hate red roses. This is a thing I tell to EVERYONE. Once a group of guys came to my b-day party with a single red rose. I frowned... I doubt he meant to express deep thoughts for they spoiled my party.

Out of curiosity, in what culture does a yellow rose mean death? Knowing that might help me avoid a mistake that could get me slapped

Well,

I can search for it in my dictionary. I bet it's an Asian tradition, I think I have heard it before. But I might as well be wrong.

BTW, I have a full list with things we're not supposed to do in different countries. One interesting list actually.

...well I'm not a multi-racial Asian, nor do I know as much about Asian culture as I would like, but as far as I know, in modern days, with the exception of some family traditions or anything, there is no particular flower, designated for use of funerals, and death ceremonies, only...I really don't understand why you think this...as I've said, the only thing I can think of are the marigolds, and although not all of them are yellow, that's not all they're used for...but if you want to continue thinking that yellow roses are the worst thing possible, please feel free to do so
