Request for editor improvements
Wether this can be actually modded or needs to be requested at Nival, that I don't know, but there's one major tool that I think we be really welcome in the H5 editor.
A tool that allows you to place down random objects, selected from a list.
For example, being able to select all the three grassobjects, and when you click, one of the three is placed down at a random angle. Likewise with trees and other objects.
I think this would really help in building maps. As it is, you need to spend insane amounts of time prettifying certain parts, and spend a lot of time on working out details.
With a tool like this, it would be a lot easier, not having to select a different tree over and over again when placing them down.
Any thoughts on how to obtain a tool like this?

Well, modding or petitioning Nival. I would like easier scripting, or at least that thing where you specify a date and something happens like in heroes 3.

Yeah, the H3 way would seem easier. Or at least a script that didn't seem to consist out of random words and lacking standard constructs... Plus a properly working script checker would be NICE as well... The current one says its good if it doesnt work and its wrong when it DOES work...
Dungeon Keeper scripting I can handle easily, but then, I kinda forgot wether I had difficulties with it in the beginning as well.

I dont have very much experience with the mao editor, but I'm pretty sure that scripting is like making triggers right?
If so, then Nival should make something similar to the Starcraft map editor, where you chose from a list of triggers and just fill in certain numbers, units etc. This would make it so much simpler in making maps IMO.

*nods* Very much agree so.
Or at least a manual better explaining how you can and can not use script commands and in what order, instead of just explaining what everything does in an alphabetical order, triggers and commands mixed through each other. It's just confusing.
Heroes isn't exactly a game with which you can test something in a swift minute or something, it takes at least 5 minutes to start up and test, and that's just one script line then. You can't experiment too eagerly with it without growing bored rapidly.

Hello!
I want to start a little project.
Project name:Ashan Mages Guild(site-->Link )
Purpose:The creation of mods and documentation that allow the map maker a better understanding and more powerful and easy tools for the Editor
The project would have 3 branches :
1-- Mods - modification to the game package that would give the map maker a more friendly interface and/or more tools
2-- Function library -- the scripting language Lua allows us to define complex functions . We can thus create define very complex functions in a separate file (ex.: Library.lua) so that the map maker will not have to write them down each time--he simply has to call that file at the beginning of the Map script (doFile("/scripts/Visual_effects.lua") and use the functions predefined in it .
3-- Tutorials -- tutorials to help the map makers use the more advanced functions of the editor and the enhancement done through this project.
What you say ?
