Invisibility overpowered + Starwars start!

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

The empire is in chaos! The dark elf wizard Sinitar along with his newly formed stalker squad from the recent expansion, have triggered a wave of emergency contingency conferences among the wizards of the Silver Cities. It is known that Sinitar by the power of the wizards' divine clairvoyance has captured wood, ore and sulfur mines - the essential ingredient of his dungeon faction, in only the first five days of his arrival. As if the situation was not dire enough it has been revealed that ‘Heroic level’ trade restrictions were in place at the time. With only his new stalker squad and a limited arsenal of spells, Sinitar has demonstrated the devastating power of invisibility. With nearly unlimited supply of stalkers and more powerful types of invisible creatures arriving shortly, the balance of the empire is in grave danger…

You have seen nothing yet Dungeon can do better than that, say lots of archdevils week 2 if you play very well.

Love the movie you made... shows us beginners how it's really done.

btw, I would love to see more films about the game start and early creeping... not being able to play MP is a bummer for me

*lol* I'm not sure this needed a thread of it's own, but the movie was pretty funny - loved the Star Wars intro. Please dig up a Dungeon Strategy thread to discuss Dungeon creeping.

Ehm no offense but that's not even close to what Dungeon can do with Stalkers... Look in this Thread (its the "upload your battel replays" thread Samikel has some insane Stalker action and there you can see some various other advanced stratigies... even Elvin has some .

I only said invisibility is overpowered, I never claimed to be among the best and I know I am not. And those replays don't show the first days, when you have very limited mana and stalkers.

Thats because any faction can take those fights. They only have different ways of doing it.

There you go... early powercreeping:

Invisibility is by no means overpowered.

Thats not week one... level7 with 10spellpower and 7knowledge...
However thats an excellent replay with firewall. But invisibility is overpowered (or AI is far too stupid too handle it) as you have also proved in your replay. They just stood there taking fire damage because they didn't see you...

I can't help but notice that you picked irresistable magic and elemental vision (both that you won't get use out of yet) over Basic Luck (great to nail down a tree that you'll need and the luck can come in handy) and Adv. Destructive (crucial at the start for the damage boost to your spells.) I daresay you wouldn't have lost nearly as many stalkers to those dogs had you done that.

A better strat for that fight woulda been to save your mana, split a couple of stalkers off from the stack (just enough to survive 1 hit) and have them alone attack that dog in the corner. That way, the dogs will bunch up to all attack the small stack, allowing you to spend all your mana on stone spikes once they do. Since you have more turns than mana, don't use empowered as the damage to mana ratio is bad.

I picked lighting mastery so later in the game when i split stalkers into many smaller stacks and only have one stack invisible at a time to lure units for AOE spells i can stun creatures who go after the visible stacks. As for empowered spells, i didn't cast any in the video... Also i cant (or perhaps have only 2 stacks) split the stalkers into 1 unit stacks because they wouldn't be able to survive to draw all the attackers there to AOE.

You can find free proxy services on the internet that will allow you to bypass that. Or if you don't want to open ports to a stranger then ask a friend to be your proxy. Keep in mind that there will be a small amount of extra latency depending on your distance to the proxy, so ask a friend who lives close to your university.

Well I already connect to the Internet by the proxy server of the university. And they have all the ports closed(I suppose... any way to check that?), exept 8080 of course...

You open the ports on YOUR computer, it does not matter which method you use to connect to the internet. As long as you can receive some type of data from the internet, no matter how restricted it is you can get your proxy to re-encrypt incoming data to match the allowed data. For sending data outside you encrypt data on your computer to match as well.

It sounds a lot harder than it is but its actually not that difficult (well its not easy either lol). Most final year Computer Science students should be able to set this up for you (assuming you are not attending a B grade university...). Or if you are feeling confident then you can try to learn yourself, there should be many resources online to help you out. Once you have set it up you do not have to set it up again (unless the university does major changes to their routers etc.) so it should be worthwhile for you to set up a proxy.

Anyway this is not the place for me to explain this or guide you though the process, and even if it was this most likely ILLEGAL in your state/country so you'll have to find more discreet ways to accomplish this. Good luck setting up a proxy and have fun with MP
