Some of us have saved parts of the guide like me, some may even have the whole guide. BAD asked us to not post any of his stuff because he was about to create a new topic with the old and some new extra information, but that was a long time ago :S I hope he still is on the job and will come anytime soon.

BAD32RO pls give some info whenever you can you're a great modder.

If you have some question, people may answer it here, just post it.

Hmmm... I need this mod with Necropolis being all but undead, and imps, cerberus', devils neutral. OR tell me how to replace them.

I also need to know how to add casting ability to monk and add some spells.

I think it is a nice start.

I started looking on my HDD but all I could find were the codes :S not the guides.

I can tell you about changing the ability of a creature with the HIEW application (like bad32ro). First you open the heroes4.exe with HIEW, then you press F4 and you choose decode, now the view is different. Then you press F5 ("go to" button) and you enter .00654AC2 (code for monk). In the row .00654AC2 you can see push command, after that you have 2 more rows with push command and one with mov. You need to remember that all the pushes after the creature code EXCEPT THE LAST represent abilities. 3 push = 2 abilities + 1 finish, push 010 push 033 and push 028. 10 represents Death Ward, 33 represents ranged ability. 028 on some other creatures represents magic resistance but here it is not the case. Ok now we can change one of them, for example ranged with magic mirror, we go to the row that has push 033 and then press F3(edit), we're now in edit mode, we change 6A33 to 6A27 (27 is magic mirror) and press F9 (save). Now we turn of HIEW and start the game where we can see that the monks have magic mirror instead of ranged ability.

I tried to go spellcaster for monks, the code is 40 but you have to define the spellbook specifically for the monks and they don't have mana I also don't know how to add stats. If you manage to find the code for the genie spellbook you can use the same one for monks and thus they will have the same spells. You can even change the spells in that list if you know the codes for spells, they may be still on this topic somewhere or on the similar ones bad32ro created.

With this short guide you can change all the abilities of creatures except spellcaster, bloodlust and others that require mana for creatures that don't have mana, I also think that you cannot make a shooter from any creature cos not all of them have ranged animation.

About changing the creatures in town some of the other guys on the forum were pretty busy on that issue you may open a new topic to ask for your questions maybe some modder will help you out. Also they may give you the mod bad created that was full necro, the only exception was venom spawn, I don't have any of his mods only wanted to learn how to make my own

But Michael Scott, while incredibly funny, is essentially a lost cause. This is MY modding manual. I this make, so I do not have to remove due to a request BAD. Manual is in Polish, but Google Translator should help you. If there are problems - I will translate for you.

What's there?
* change the statistics unit, the cost of spells, buildings, etc., change descriptions
* change ability the units
* change in the assignment unit to the building in the City
* change in the assignment unit to the building in adventure map

It is a great help Thanks a lot! Since BAD removed all the addresses I lost hope I could do my mods again. I modded equlibris file once but I lost the mod (I have only the database file with modded stats, cost of buildings etc), now I can again do the same things (for example giving the Devils the random hostile spell ability as by Evil Eyes). Can you PM me or post the instructions how to ADD new ability to a creature. Google translator is not very clear about that part (I am not reading polish) and please tell me how to increase the city hall gold every day from 1000 gold to 1250 gold (I cant remember what I did before two years but I changed that part, because I kept the mod for .h4r file and the description still says "Provides 1250 gold per day" but actually it is not so)

Unfortunately, bulding bonus is in exe file - i can not find line and code. Perhaps a short description of the building changed, so did not work.

How add abitilty to creature?
1) Find empty line e.g. 2FF (save in a notepad)
2) Find data creature (save in a notepad)
3) First line in data creature change to CALL number_empty_line
4) Other line in data creature change to 90 - STOP when you go to next creature line
5) Go to empty line
6) Rewrite data creature
7) The last line (before the closing code) - write code ability.
8) Closing code change based on Table.
9) Nexte hex chenge to C3

I don't know the addresses exactly. If you are familiar with debugger, try tracing the execution of the program during the building of one dwelling. I remember that during the construction of the dwelling, the other one is set to disabled and there's a byte which tells the game the ID of building to disable, so you can set this ID to ID of the building that is built, so the other one won't get disabled. there are two bytes to replace for each town. don't enable more dwelings for preserve town, because the game will crash with creature portal built

i would like to add some abilities to breeze the falcon, like flight,pain mirror,vampiric touch and regeneration
im a complete fool about anything related to modding

can anyone help me?
