Can someone tell me how to change the combat light in battles, just like in grass, making it necro light or inferno light?

Edit: I Guess noone is good or helpfull enough to answer this damned easy question.

I hope you don't expect any answers after this comment. Do you really think there's someone sitting behind his computer and waiting for YOU to ask a question and answering YOU within a few minutes ?

Many of us have been waiting for days to get an answer to our "damned easy questions" or have found the answer by themselves.

Aka(off topic): Interestingly that ppl post immediately after making a mistake or posting something that is not in their appeals instead of answering this rather easy question.

It is not your job to help me nor advising me else, is that OK for you?I just seek for my answer and not your opinion.

Take this easy, Seraphim and Nelgirith.

Seraphim be more patient, its not possible to get answer to your questions in a minute, and its very not needed to post your question second time in other threads (as off topics). Just wait more if needed.

For your question (if I get it correctly) - I think it can be done via the map editor - scripting (or there was button).

Fine, if nobody's going to answer this person then I suppose I will have to.  Vokial, your answer is of no good to him, because he has already said somewhere else that he is a total noob in mapping and modding.  Nelgrith, as much as I agree, that is not exactly a good way of helping anyone.

Right.  You wanna change a Combat Arena?  Then let's do it.  But this change will be semi-permanent so you might not like my methods.

1.  Enable the special hidden editor functions.  How?  Enter C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East\profiles\editor_a2.cfg.  This is a simple text file.  Open it and change the line marked "setvar map_editor_mode = 0" to "setvar map_editor_mode = 9".

2.  Now just open your Map Editor.  It should have changed a little: far more functions are now available.  If you did the previous step correctly, you should see the "Resource" tab next to "File".  Click it, then click on "Open Resource".

3.  You're now faced with a folder table.  Enter Maps\CombatArenas.  Why look at that!  It's every single combat arena used in the entire game.  May I warn you again that this change will be permanent.  However, it is easily reversable by retracing your steps and just changing back the ambient light.

4.  Open the arena of your choice by double-clicking it.  It will now open up just like any other standard map.  Whichever arena you have chosen is the very same as the one which appears in the game.

5.  Now to edit the light.  Click "View", Map Properties and note the tab just below "Restrict hero level to".  It controls the lighting.  Click it and scroll down to the bottom, then click "Necropolis Light (Dirt)".

6.  The changes you have made will not be instantly visible.  Just save the Combat Arena with the save button, but only if you are happy with your changes - only if you are sure you want the Necropolis light in this arena.

7.  That's it - you should now be done, the light should now be changed in the corresponding battlefield.  If you are unhappy with the change, don't worry!  It's not permanent as such, just follow the above steps, and revert it back to the original light.

This is the easiest way I could find on short notice.  I'm sure there are more desirable ways to do it, but you are demanding an answer so here is a nice rushed, "damned-easy" one for you.

OK thanks for the much anticipated answer.Anyway,I made all what you have written but this really changes the weather, but it changes all the resorces of all the game making all maps like night.
As I know the map "The Vampire Lord"had dark weather only there.Maybe it is not very easy to do that but I see other ppl making that.

What must I do to make specific maps only with that effect.

Edit:Hmm,Interesting..... its a kind of noobish acting anyway.

Scripting is the only real way to make it work for specific maps.  I know absolutely nothing about the scripting code though so someone else will have to give an answer.

Sorry, that's not possible even outside the Map Editor.  The only thing you can edit is Primary Skill bonuses.

You can't do that within the editor as far as I know, only by editing the game's data files.  I'm sure there's someone else kind and patient enough around here to explain exactly how to do that.  Once you have opened data.pak the file you are looking for is data.pak\GameMechanics\RefTables\Artifacts.xdb

Of course you can do it with the Editor, (I always use the Editor when making MODs) if you have the MOD editor enabled select the Table: Table_DBArtifact_ArtifactEffect select it with the Game Database Window and edit it wih the Selection Property Window.

Not with the basic editor though, the only thing you can change there is the artifact's AdvMap appearance.

@Gnoll Mage:  That's Arantir's unique specialty.  It allows him to summon a Spectral Dragon with stats relating to his experience level ala Conjure Phoenix - and it's among the only specialties we can really edit.

For someone who has the HoMM5 beta - is there a model etc. for the halo effect that was on the old Cleric? I'd really like it, and it doesn't look like it is in the Cleric mod (although admittedly I've only looked at the screenshot). Cheers!

Hmm turns out it's part of the model, annoyingly. Any ideas for making a halo?
