Life.
I forgot who said this... and the exact quote for that matter... but "The game of life has a poorly thought out concept, but the graphics is excellent!"
So, I guess this makes Geny the "MHz kid" (a gamer who considers graphics the most important part of the game)

Life is but a Beta test, and we are all players in God's great, unfinished game. It would be pretty scary if the Heaven Server crashed.

Thanks, I wish I could clam it, but Its actually a friend's screensaver.
Back to WOW: I think the big thing about its appeal is how simple it is to master, on the surface level, and you can put as much or as little into it as you want.

Some people claim that the Heaven server never even went into production

a lot of MMO's are great, but some are flawed. i'll only note down two which have caught my attention long enough to play them (or at least the beta).
for example, Warhammer online looks good, feels good, and captures the concept of "War is everywhere!". but, on the other hand, there is so much hype about it, it could handle like a cow in a supermarket trolley and come crashing down on peoples heads like a straight line tetris block, taking with it four rows and any chance for the game to recover
Hellgate london is a good game in theory. demons come out of hell to invade london, play as six different classes, and battle it out in Camedon, Picadilly and Newgate with multi-fanged monstroties from the depths of hell. however, the entire game totally fails on the PVP experience, and when i want to cave another characters head in, I can't do so, as the blow passes through them as though i was weilding a sword made out of butter.

I disagree. I think the appeal of it is the amount of stuff you can do, and the playability of it. If it wasn't for the playability, then WoW would not have as many players as it does.
and also the Warcraft series was very popular when it was in RTS form, and I guess the majority like seeing and playing it when it is in 3D.
